We have reviewed the details related to Mr***’s purchase of the Acacia wood that was installed on his floor by an independent contractorOur sales person, Kerry did tell Mr*** that the Acacia had a Janka scale rating of and he is correct on what they call “Small Leaf Acacia”.
This is the information shown on the Bella Cera rack he purchased from, and is only known as Acacia However, the material that he chose is called “Big Leaf Acacia” and this is not listed on the rack. It has a hardness of not 2200. This was unknown to Kerry or for that matter any of us. We still do not feel this difference in hardness would make a difference on the floor scratching and denting Wood is considered a soft floor and even Brazilian Cherry that has a Janka rating of 2820, does dent and scratch. There is no such thing as a wood floor that will not scratch and we would never tell someone a wood floor is dog proof. While scratches can be minimized by having a harder wood, a wood floor will scratch. We did contact Dan P***, our representative for Bella Cera wood floorsHe and Mark B***, our general manager did contact Mr*** and inspected the floor together. MrP*** indicated there were scratches which appeared to be from the dog and indentations that appeared to be from construction damage. MrP*** informed the ***’s that the indentations/scratches were would not qualify for warranty consideration. MrB*** also compared the finish from the sample board to one of Mr***’s purchase and the finish was of the same quality.
