Complaint: 12151581
I am rejecting this response because:I'm rejecting it because what he said in his comment is not equal to what he told me or what I told him. When I went in there I did have a complaint but it wasn't about a blinking light, it was that my security system was locking me out and stopping the car from starting (when I called him, sitting in front of McDonald's at 4:40 on May 8 in Bridge City, with a car that wouldn't start and had me waiting, he actually ask me will it start is it drivable?).  Here's one of many examples I saw of this on the internet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsS-swJGFJM . He actually ask me, how do you start it when it does this, and I told him. My ignition switch wasn't two years old, and I never told him that it was, it was a little over a year old.  He didn't tell me that he didn't see how it could be the switch, I told him my husband said that and I told him there have been defective parts. I haven't even owned the car for two years. He told me the cost to check it out would be $45 dollars, and yes I thought that was a low cost.  He didn't tell me that the ignition/lock cylinder would need to be removed for inspection, he told me the codes that were thrown by the computer, should still be in it and by them they could tell about what was wrong with it.  According to him, two codes were shown. On May 10th I called him at 10:44 am and 10:54 am, the first time I didn't reach him.  He told me that they had ordered a part out of Houston, it was coming by courier, they had expected it around 10 but it wasn't there yet.  He told me the part would be about 160$ and that at the dealership it would be around 260$. I repeat, he never called me, at all.  I did call him several times, often getting a voicemail, I did not leave a message when I got the voicemail. He talked about putting in a cylinder, I believe.  The part from Houston, he said was too tight of a fit, but the guy had a sensor from a Chevy Impala, and he told me he put it on the car.  He told my husband, over the phone, he had put it on the car.  He told my husband's Uncle who drove me there, to check on my car, he had put it on.  I know nothing about any cleaning, and have no ideal what that is about.  I further don't get why he would state a comment about me wanting a part put on it, if he, if... had told me that's not what the problem was or that there was nothing wrong with it. I didn't say he got Nasty with me, I said that he had told me (and this was over the phone), "this was hard work" "they were busy", when I was just trying to find out if my car was fixed, this was at 4:18 on May 10th, after I called him. He also yelled at me in his office, when I complained about not being called and he said "they were busy and commented on the amount of cars they were working on".  I said this, "I know this sounds mean, but I don't care", and I don't he might have 20 cars he's working on at one time, but I only have one car.  He then yelled, "well you can just take your business somewhere else", I will from now on I guarantee you.  This was said in front of my husband's Uncle, his name is Steve Langford.  If it becomes necessary, I can get statements from my witnesses.  I just at this point don't know what if anything was done to my car, the story has changed too much.  Enclosed are pics from my phone of the calls to this business, I'm aware it could be claimed that I deleted incoming calls, but...there were none to remove.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,In Reference to the Complaint ID#12151581, dated 5-11-17:On 5-9-17, Mrs. [redacted] brought her vehicle to my service center with concernsof theft/see light flashing or staying on. I told her check out charges were $85 and if we did therepairs the charge was included in the repair.  She...

stated that while searching the internetthere was a lot of talk about an issue with ignition lock/switch failure. She also stated that her ignition switch was replaced approximately 2 yrs ago. I told her that this should not be occurring if a quality part was used, but that anything is possible.  I also, said that the ignition/lock cylinder would need to be removed for Inspection to see if something were loose or damaged. She gave permission to do the Repair on AM of 5-10-17.  I calledMrs. [redacted] and stated that no light had come on but stored in body control computer there were Fault codes indicating intermitting issues with a pass lock Sensor.  This Sensor is part of Lock/Key Switch and that nothing was damaged or loose.  The Repair for this is either clean up and Re-code or Replace Ignition Lock/Key Cylinder and Code.I informed Mrs. [redacted] that I would have to contact a Licensed Auto Locksmith for cleaning and Re-coding or coding of new Part.  I called our Local Chevrolet Dealer, and theydidn't have the Part in stock.  On 5-10-17, approximately 3:25 PM the Locksmith that I usearrived to my auto repair shop.  He took the Lock/Key Cylinder apart and found NothingWrong.  I instructed him to clean up and Re-Code.  After I Re-installed the Key/Lock Cylinderin vehicle I tried multiple times to Re-Produce the Fault. I also Road Tested the vehicle andhad no problems at this time.  On 5-11-17 I checked her vehicle for Starting and also Road Tested and Still No Faults. On 5-11-17 Mrs. [redacted], arrived at my auto repair shop approximately 3:30 pm.  I explainedto her what I had done.  She called her husband, I spoke to him and explained the exact samething to him.  I told [redacted], that Labor Warranty was 90 days or 4000 miles whicheveroccurred first, (Or if she wanted me to Order Part that she could leave the vehicle and haveit coded and I would Re-install and that the New Part had a One Year Warranty.)Part Cost:                  $248.11Mechanical Labor       127.50Locksmith                     85.00Tax                               20.47 Total Parts & Labor   $481.08She again called her husband and then informed me she was taking the vehicle.  I thentold her that if Fault Re-occurred My Labor Warranty Was As Stated Above. But that since she was paying my service charge and removing vehicle that the Locksmith service would be chargedagain if they decided if they wanted to Replace the Lock Part.In Closing,#1.  I communicated with Mrs. [redacted] and if she did call she did not leave a voicemail.#2.  No Parts were used or Charged to her.#3.  I did not get Ugly with her!  I Sternly Stated my Company Policy! I Owe her Nothing!Sincerely,[redacted] CEO/Jerry's Specialty Auto, Inc.3746 N. 16th StreetOrange, TX 77632
