Review: Dear Sir/Madam,

This is with respect to the grievance regarding the insurance claim that I have received for my new born baby girl [redacted] in Jersey City medical center, NJ.

From the multiple claims that I have received, I would like your help and consideration for two claims in particular.

One, an insurance claim regarding the anesthesia for an amount of $2,644 dollars for which I am responsible to pay $2,247. This is because the doctor who gave anesthesia during C-Section was not in contract with insurance. I have registered at the hospital and provided all the insurance information approximately 3 weeks ahead of the delivery. My wife had a C-Section which was planned ahead of time. I fail to understand why the doctor who administered anesthesia was called from outside the network and that too without seeking my buy-in. I had to pay $2,247 as the bill went into collection.

My insurance has already paid >$6000 to hospital.

Review: Jersey City Medical has sent a $39.00 bill into collection which I paid over a year ago. They sent me a bill for the paid amount on 2 occasions. I called their billing department to resolve issue and they said to ignore the bill because it was an obvious error. Today I am putting an offer in on a home and applied for mortgage pre-approval and rate. Apparently my credit score is poor because they have sent the bill into collection. They have sent a $39.00 bill that I have already paid collection and ruined my credit score. I am unable to get a pre-approval. I have called my insurance company to make sure the bill was taken care of. They claim the issue was resolved in the winter of 2012 and there was full admission of this being a billing error made by the hospital. This is outrageous. I am infuriated. This has affected my ability to finance a home which I intend to purchase. I want this resolved immediately without my having to contact an agency and pay $150 to clear my credit. If this is not resolved immediately, I will be looking into legal counsel to seek damages.Desired Settlement: Jersey City Medical Center needs to contact the collections agency and communicate to them that there was a billing error and they made a mistake in submitting this bill for collection. I want them to make sure that my credit score returns to the 780 it once was. This better be resolved immediately.
