Jersey's Best Paving

Review: Last October we used Jersey’s Best to make repairs to and reseal our driveway. Over the summer we have noticed that the driveway seems to be pealing, the parts that had been repaired seem to be sinking and cracks that were sealed had opened. We were given a written guarantee that “the asphalt will not shift, sink, or crack” and our driveway had experienced all three.

On Monday, August 24th and again on Tuesday, September 1st my husband called and left a message about the condition of our driveway and asked that someone call to set up a time to come over to look at it. On September 4th I called and this time [redacted] came to look at the driveway. He acknowledged that there were cracks, pealing and sunken patches but tried to explain that that was not because of anything he did. I asked him to explain that to my husband so [redacted] came back the weekend of September 12th and at that time he admitted to my husband that some of the patches were sunken and cracks had reopened and that he would repair the work which he now acknowledged was his responsibility as the work was not done well.

On September 18th my husband spoke to [redacted] again and [redacted] explained that he would call and let us know when he had a job in our area so he could fix the driveway and that he would do so before it got cold. After about a month of not hearing from [redacted], my husband called and made arrangements for [redacted] to come to the house and repair the driveway on Friday November 6th. My husband called and spoke to [redacted] on November 5th to make sure he would show up. After waiting for [redacted] all day, my husband called [redacted] again and [redacted] said he was running late, but would show up on Saturday November 7th. At 12:30 on November 7th, [redacted] was still a no show so my husband called [redacted] again and this time was told that Monday November 9th would be the day. That was not the case, and this time [redacted] explained to my husband that he forgot he had to go to court, but he would definitely do the repair on Wednesday. My husband passed [redacted] on the road on Wednesday, but [redacted] did not show up at our house, nor did he respond to phone messages. On Thursday, November 12 when my husband called and spoke to [redacted], [redacted] said he had equipment problems and suggested that we hire someone local to make the repairs and he would pay for them. He then said that he knew someone who could do it and that he would call us back shortly which he didn’t. On Saturday, [redacted] stopped by the house and used crack filler instead of blacktop to make some repairs. He was at the house for no more than 15 minutes, making repairs that did not begin to address the problem. I’ve attached pictures before and after the patching and 2 days later.

I am tired of trying to get a contactor to make appropriate repairs to work that he did not do well. It is apparent that [redacted] does not stand behind his word or his work and his written guarantee is not worth the paper it is printed on. His written guarantee includes a note that he is a member of Revdex.com Care so I am hopeful that the Revdex.com can help resolve this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like the repair done correctly.
