[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I chose jet black to do the job for all the advertisement and seemingly worry free customer service, quality and accountability and everything else they had mentioned in their card that they attached in their response but sadly all these were not true in my experience I am currently away on vacation and I don't have all the paperwork, but they gave me some literature about power washing and power cleaning my driveway if need be which I believe my driveway probably needed after I saw what the finished product was If they provide a yr instead of a yr warranty, the concerns about the sealing that I tried reaching them for to no avail was well within the one yr and still is (complaint about quality ongoing for months) well within warranty The squeegee marks were not minor The marks span the entire driveway both vertical and horizontal I described the oil spots and the craters that formed to no avail Jet black also poured their material on cracks very untidily, leaving uneven wide and long stains all over the place...It was a bad job, it was poorly done and the fact that I am still in this predicament at this time to reach out to jet black (which I believe is a franchise) proves what a poor customer service they provide when problems arise, not to mention their continuous effort not to provide warranty, The owner claims he went to the property to check it and did not see anything Maybe he was wearing dark sunglasses The owner could have called when he was going to be in the area to eyeball the driveway but never did and when we both agreed to a time to meet up He never made it 2x so his behavior is quite questionable, Several pictures were taken and were shown to the owner and to the office via email, yet the owner keeps denying the obvious and its quite unprofessional to claim otherwise The quote from the other company is legitimate I did not come up with the number The copy of the quote was mailed to the owner weeks ago and he should have received this at this point when he replied to this complaint All efforts have been exhausted for this company to address the issues that have been presented to them since the day after they completed the sealing and the quote is more expensive because based on what the other companies will need to do, after jet black did such poor work, it will entail a much more tedious process I will have jet black write out the check of to the company who will re-seal driveway after the job is completed if they prefer The quote given by the other is only good for a certain time though and I don't know for how long I am out of town I will be back by 2nd week of October, I hope jet black can address the above by then Regards, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I am the neighbor across the street from the driveway Jet-Black of northwest metro ###-###-#### seal coated. They did a really poor job also! If anyone did work as bad as Jet-Black they would not have any return customersI was driving home and was coming up to my house and a kid that was working for Jet Black was blowing all the grass edged debris and sand and small stone for ***'s driveway into my front yard and on my side of the street in front of my houseI watch the kid doing this as I dove up to my house! Jet-Black of northwest metro ###-###-#### they refuse to clean up the mess. The young kid swept about 1/the debris into a pile and left it in the street and never cleaned up the grass edged debris in my yard. I have contacted Dean the owner of Jet-Black of northwest metro and told him to come clean up his debris and he refusesHis foreman lied when he said they cleaned it upI will post on every social media I can find and tell everyone about how bad Jet-Black is and not to use this companyI will file a complaint with the parent company alsoI think Jet Black owes me an apology for what they did and wasting my time! Jet-Black has been in business for many years and we have sealcoated thousands of drivewaysAs a result of our driveway maintenance skills and excellent customer service we enjoy a very high rate of repeat businessThe driveway in question was sealed properly and the weather played no part in the
problem.l The initial complaint was made by email days after sealcoating and it referred to a few spots that did not look like it was sealed properlyTried calling customer several times, but phone did not answer and had no voice mailI visited the driveway and found a couple of spots that looked scrapedThe driveway was sealed properly and I found no indications of sealcoat failureI tried contacting customer but no one was homeI tried calling again with no success so I emailed my findingsEVEN THOUGH the problem WAS NOT caused by Jet-Black I offered to touch up the areas AT NO COST after receiving paymentWith no positive response our company followed proper business practices and started the collection processAfter receiving a threatening email I again returned to the driveway to make sure my initial findings were correctREITERATING, the driveway was sealed correctly and the issue was not a result of the weather or our processI REPEAT my offerAT NO COST we will touch up the spots in question after receiving paymentALSO we have a warranty program if the driveway meets the criteria we will reseal at no costIf this is not acceptable we will continue the collections process

The customer responded to an offer to discount cost of driveway serviceAlso many other customers took advantage of the offerWe make every effort to schedule the service when the customer wishes however this is not always possibleSince the beginning of the season in April we had excessive rain
days when service cannot be performedThis customer and her husband were contacted more than once to set a date without successThe date customer wanted was unavailableCustomer asked for a refundTHIS REFUND WAS SENT TO CUSTOMER AND THE CHECK WAS CASHED BY CUSTOMERTHERE WAS NO ADMINISTRATION FEE TAKEN OUTAlthough there were administration costs, for sure (phone calls, reviewing schedules discussions on schedule and recalls etc.) We will continue to offer the best service and products available

driveways.It seems there was a communication issue and a paperwork error with our office staff and the work crew.  THE PRICE OUOTED AND THE PRICE ON THE INVOICE WAS THE SAME. The problem was that the customer negotiated a lower price with the office over the phone  and this new price was not communicated to the crew or new invoice made. The error has been noted and the office staff notified of their error. The customer has been contacted and the work rescheduled for the new price. Hopefully this resolves the issue.

our dedication to our customers is that 60 to 70% of our business is repeat customers. They have their driveways done every two to four years. Along with our return customers we earn new customers as well many through referrals.The referenced customer complaint is factually incorrect and unfounded.Jet-Black offers a ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY which is stated on our quote card which was given to customer, (not 2 years as stated in the complaint).The driveway did not need to be power washed and was never mentioned, quoted or charged by jetblack. We brush on our sealant or residential driveways as stated on our quote card. So minor brush marks may be visible for a short period of time; they do fade away after a short period of time. Customer was told this and this complaint was not mentioned again.The surface of the driveway cannot be changed by sealcoating; this is clearly stated on our quote card. SO rough spots will still be thereafter sealcoating.I have never heard of craters being caused by sealcoating. After sealcoating existing defects in the asphalt surface sometimes become more visibleI viewed the pictures sent to me and they did not show any sealcoating problems. I saw defects in the existing asphalt.did visit the driveway and did not see any quality issues; I saw the edge cracks which did not quote to be filled since the advantages of filling these cracks is suspect. We did go back and fill these cracks with Crack filler. Never saw white spots claimed to be oil spots.Payment is due upon completion of the job, Weeks into this saga received a small partial payment which the customer deemed to be what she wanted to pay; not the agreed upon amount.I sent the check back and requested full payment.Full payment was finally made by credit card. After that the complaints expanded and two mystery competitors supposedly told the customer how bad a job was done. The names were never given to me. Also was told these companies gave quotes that were almost double of what charged and I was told must pay that amount.Sometimes customer expectations of the sealcoating process exceeds the capabilities of the process.

We have already spoke with the customer [redacted]. He is satisfied with the work, and declined when I asked if he would like us to have a supervisor revisit his address to take a look at the job. Thus, resolving the real issue of this complaint. We will not be sending out a crew to clean up the city street, the supervisor on the job in question assured me the grass clippings were removed from the complainants yard upon their departure from the job site.

The address listed in this complaint was not seal coated. The man who is making this complaint is pretending to be his neighbor. The address and customer that we seal coated is [redacted] he is located at [redacted] in Champlin. His phone number, if you would like to call and follow up with...

the actual person that we did the job for, is ###-###-####. This man who is making the complaint, [redacted], has a concrete driveway and we do not seal concrete driveways. [redacted] called and left a voicemail at our office with his complaint, I then contacted the supervisor of the crew out at the above address, who let me know [redacted] approached our workers and asked them to clean the grass clippings out of his yard which they did before leaving the job site.
