In response to the complaint, Jet Repair Services stands behind it's originally billed invoice.  Our office received a call on the afternoon of July 3rd requesting that our mechanic come out and take a look at her RV that was not working properly.   Our mechanic arrived on site and...

diagnosed the problem.  He explained that it was a holiday weekend and that he would try and locate the part that her RV needed.  Our mechanic made 5 trips to various parts store in the area and numerous phone calls trying to locate the part needed.  He was unable to locate the conversion kit that was needed.  He came back out to the camp ground the next day and tried a few other things to try and get the RV working.   He was unsuccessful.  Our mechanic was not scheduled to work that holiday weekend but took the time to drive around and spend numerous hours on the phone in hopes of finding the part needed to get the RV functional.  Being a holiday weekend parts are not readily available.  We feel that our mechanic went above and beyond to try and help this customer get her RV functional.  She may feel that his time is not worth anything, but parts do not just appear, they have to be researched and located, which is not easily done on a holiday weekend.  We are sorry that this customer feels like our company treated her unfairly and left her in an unsafe position.  The customer admitted to our mechanic that her A/C Compressor was bad for a long while and she didn't have working A/C.  We believe that if this customer felt unsafe in driving this RV, she should never have left her home with it broken, or she should have had the unit towed to a repair facility, where the correct parts could have been located on Monday.   As for our pricing being extremely exorbitant, we were more than fair.  Please feel free to call any RV repair shop and ask what their hourly rate is, then ask what it is on a holiday weekend and then compare it to what our company charged.   We are a very reputable truck repair company and would never knowingly put any of our customers in danger or try to take advantage of them.  Again, we are sorry this customer was disappointed in our company.

 I have spoken to several mechanics who stated that there were at least two options to fix my problem. One was to replace the bearings only.  Another was to use a different belt and bypass the compressor which is what the second company I contacted did. The mechanic from this company was very nice but he stated that I could drive my motorhome. This would not have been safe. I know this was a bad situation because it was a holiday weekend but I don't think a professional company should say we are sorry we could not fix it but we are charging you anyway

Review: Following is the letter I sent to Jet Repair Services (Jet Intermodal):

To Whom It May Concern,

I went camping with my family during the Forth of July weekend. While driving to the campground, my RV suddenly lost power steering, making it almost impossible to drive and steer. Luckily, I was not far from the campground. After arriving safely to the campground and setting up, I then asked at the Yogi Bear Campground, who they recommended for emergency RV motor repairs. They gave me a card for Jet Repair Services. I had no choice other than to call for an emergency service call at the campground on a holiday weekend since I knew I could never make it the 2 hours home with the RV in it’s current condition.

A very nice gentlemen came out to the campground that night and diagnosed the problem-the RV needed a new AC compressor. It was a 1996 Ford engine and he needed time to locate or order this part. He came back to the campground 2 days later and gave me a bill for $627.00 and said he could not locate an AC compressor. He said he had spent 6 hours searching for the AC compressor part and then I was charged for 26 miles to and from the campground. He did not locate the AC compressor and did NOT fix my RV. I was charged a total of $627.00 for his travel time to and from the campground and supposedly his 6 hours of time spent searching for the AC compressor part. He was then unsuccessful at finding the AC compressor part and/or fixing the broken one. I reluctantly paid this exorbitantly high bill and he went on his way.

My daughter got on the phone later that day after Jet Repair Services had taken over $600 of my money for doing absolutely nothing and found an auto repair company (BWFD Truck Country) 5 min away that ultimately fixed my RV. They also had difficulty finding the AC compressor part, but came up with a solution with a new belt. BWFD charged me another $600 plus but actually came up with a solution to my broken RV-they didn’t just LOOK for a part for 6 hours, not find it, then charge me for the 6 hours they spent looking. Jet Repair Services offered me NO solution to my RV problem, instead just throwing up their hands and handing me a very large bill.

The large bill would have been a lot easier to take if they had ACTUALLY fixed the RV!!

I will be sending a copy of this letter to the Revdex.com so they are aware of Jet Repair Services business practices. You left me with a broken RV, a very large bill for doing basically nothing and no cares whatsoever as to how I was going to get myself, my handicapped husband and dog home with no power steering and an unsafe RV. The right thing for you to do would be to refund at least part of the $627.00 you charged me on 7/3/14. This charge was extremely exorbitant and you did NOT fix my RV, locate a new AC compressor or come up with a solution so that my RV was safe and drivable. I was very disappointed in Jet Repair Services.

Sincerely,Desired Settlement: I would like Jet Repair Services to refund part of the $627.00 bill. This is an extremely high bill for simply searching for an AC Compressor for supposedly 6 hours which they then never located and they offered no solution to me at all.
