Jewel's Aluminum & Vinyl Refinishing Reviews (1)

June 4, @ 4:pm - Called initially to go trail riding with my year old nieceWas told by George, the owner, that we needed to pass a series of maneuvers before we could go out on our own since they do not do trail rides (too many lawsuits on fellow stable owners I was told) These tasks include successfully riding your horse into a makeshift "box" shape of PVC pipe laid on the ground; you need to turn and stop your horse in all four corners without the horse stepping over the pipe and therefore going outside of the boxThen you need to go onto a makeshift "bridge" made out of a long pallet-type box only about inabove the ground, get your horse to stop on the bridge, back up, and then proceed off the bridge only when you get the horse under control Needless to say, I thought "how hard can this be to be able to go riding?" So, I paid for a private lesson, so this means two $fees for both of us to go riding in their arena to do these tasks so we could go trail riding together We are now up to $ Then after we did the private lesson, we were not able to do the box, nor the bridge, so we were advised that we need to purchase a "package." This means paying $for ten hour lessons for ONE personOn 6/21/I purchased this for my niece because I was told she needed at least hours before someone that young felt comfortable on a horseAt the time of purchase, we were told that lessons were given on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and that we should call the morning before at am to schedule for the next dayI found that almost every time I called, I could not get in the next day because they either had a large group for the entire week (and then I had to wait until the next week), or that they were bookedOne time I called and was told that I could come the following day at pmI had to arrange schedules with a daycare company over an hour away, as well as my brother, and take off of work to make this happenI get a call the following morning from George telling me that he is cancelling our lesson because the other person that was scheduled to come in for a lesson at that same time just cancelled, and he does not give lessons to just one person without charging them the private lesson fee ($60)I finished my lessons with my niece, but I want to warn others that the owners, George and Judy, mean well and are good at what they do, but they do not have specific times, and go by what is convenient for themI have found this to be a pattern with this facility They are all about safety, which is excellentHowever, please be forewarned on their horrible customer service They remember nothing that they told you and neither one communicates with the other person and they don't keep track They are fast to sell you a riding package, but then it's like pulling teeth to get a lesson that they actually keep on time for youAlso, they charge you time for getting the horse, brushing it, and tacking it This should not be included in the riding lesson; especially when the next group of riders coming in get horses already saddled and ready to go are not charged the extra minutes on their lesson I've pointed this out to George and also a couple times to Judy, and was told that this was part of the lesson Very deceitful business practices! I have been riding and tacking horses my entire life, so I do not need to learn how to do it My niece is only 7, and she is not strong or tall enough to tack a horse She is a child George is very sarcastic and on numerous occasions brought my niece to tears during her lessons I had to struggle to help her keep her composureAlso, please note that if you take your child for lessons here, YOU will be required to walk/run alongside the horse! They have or so people of different ages and levels riding in the arena at the same time George and Judy just walk around and try to help everyone during the lessons So you cannot just sit down – be expected to help instruct your child So I paid for lessons, but only got about The rest of my money paid for going out to round up the horse in the paddock, brush it, and tack it In my opinion, there are plenty of other stables in the area that will not cheat you on your lessons
