Hi Revdex.com,My name is DrHenry Nardea I am the owner of Simply Straight Orthodontics The above complaint was lodged against us for not responding to messages left by Miss [redacted] in our general VM mailbox After receiving the complaint I questioned my front office staff about the matter They said that they had since communicated with Miss [redacted] and that her children were made appointments Nevertheless I called Miss [redacted] on 7/and 7/whereupon I was relegated to leaving voice mails However she did return my call on 7/ I apologized for any inconveniences and discussed how we can go about averting any future issues I think we now both feel that we have put past episodes behind us and are optimistic as we move forwardBTW, we were inadvertently cited for not returning emergency calls which are directed to a separate emergency phone number I told Miss [redacted] that I have no record (on the emergency line) of her calling If it had been necessary, I was prepared to request a phone record from my phone carrier However she said she meant that she had left messages on the "General Voice Mail." Hoping over time that Miss [redacted] is satisfied with her children's treatment and in the interest of fair play, leaves a counter positive review of Simply Straight Orthodontics Thank you so much for your attention, DrNardea

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowFirst, evidently the claim was not even filed to our primary dental insurance until 7/19/2017, AFTER I had filed the complaints with the Revdex.com and Dental Board. In addition, the claim was rejected due to lack of information provided by DrNardea's office. Second, it has not even been filed with the secondary provider, Virginia Medicaid, which should pick up the remainder, provided DrNardea's office submits the correct documentation required. I would like to know that they are going to file with BOTH of the insurances, correctly. All of this insurance information had been given to DrNardea's office long before now. Threatening to withhold treatment without first even verifying that the claims had been filed with BOTH insurances, PROPERLY, is very unprofessional. Assuming that they are filed to both insurances with all documentation required, there should be resolution of this issue. I will be keeping an eye out for the claims to be processed in the meantime

The office manager to which Miss *** alludes is no longer with us As of this writing, no payments (as far as I can see) have been made towards her daughter's account.However we are currently in the process of filing an insurance request with her other carrier for benefits Therefore we are hopeful that these financial matters will resolve amicably in the not to distant future. Since the complaint (based primarily on insinuations of not being responsive to messages left for us) the patients continue to be treated at our office.  In addition,  I have personally spoken with the complainant and she was given my direct phone number in the event that she'd like to discuss her children's care or has not had her phone call returned to the office within 24 hours.  Please feel free to call me if you have any further questions.  Dr. Nardea  [redacted]

Dr. Nardea, while very nice on the phone, obviously did not read the complaint.  Nowhere in the complaint did I state that I had called the [redacted] number.  I stated that the messages I had left were ALL on the office answer machine/voicemail and I take offense to the fact that he is trying to make me out as a liar.In addition, when his office staff finally did contact me (not until after I had filed complaints with the Revdex.com AND the Virginia DHP), they informed me that my daughter's account is past due $4,000+ when the office manager had told me everything was paid in full just this past April.I am in the process of moving, which is why I have not responded any sooner than this.
