In October or November of 2015, I made reservations and a deposit through JG's Beachfront Condo Rentals for Condo 1203, Tower III, in Edgewater Resort in Panama City, FloridaWe had stayed there two years ago through a different condo rental agency, and the condo was perfect for my large family My husband contacted John, the owner of JG's, in March after he became concerned because the final payment check had not cleared the bank John said he couldn't find it, so my husband then paid by credit card On July 14th, I made several phone calls to John regarding questions I had about our arrival and condo Our vacation was scheduled for the week of July 23rd - 30th I tried multiple phone numbers, emails, and text messages to reach him that day I became concerned when the office number that no one answered was also the number given for emergencies After several hours John did contact me and said it was such a terrible day at work, and that he was in his car and didn't have our file in front of him John promised to call me back around 6:that night or the next day I reassured him that would be fine I just had a few questions The next day John did not call me I started to feel uncomfortable about the customer service from JG's On Saturday, I began calling again I did reach John and he answered all my questions about the condo we had reserved I was feeling better and thought there was nothing else to worry about On Monday, I received a voice message from JG's It stated they no longer had that condo to rent and to call him When I called back I talked with the maintenance man, not John He informed me that there was a dispute that morning with the property owner, and they no longer would be able to rent it I asked for John to call me and for the number of the condo owner He couldn't spell the owner's last name, and I was given a wrong phone number My husband and I talked to John several times over the next couple of days He offered us a bedroom condo at Winward, which is still part of Edgewater Resort, but at the opposite end of the resort He was also going to give us back some money since it was a smaller condo Forty-five members of my family were staying in the towers, and my family was going to be two football fields away with two babies under five months of age I was not happy, and then I read the latest reviews from June 2016, of Winward condo # They were not good! I questioned John about the poor reviews He stated the people that wrote the review stayed there right before they do their deep cleaning of the condos From my understanding a deep cleaning shuts a condo down for a week and wouldn't be done during peak season All other and bedroom condos at Edgewater were booked for that week I had no choice but to accept what John was offering I was so unhappy I decided to call the rental agency that rented me the condo two years ago I explained what happened and asked if they possibly had the correct name or a way to contact the owner They were very nice and were able to locate an email of the condo owner I contacted the owner through email and received a phone call from him the next morning This was Thursday morning, the day before we left for our vacation The owner was so helpful and shared that he had major problems with JG's Condo Rentals and had fired them in January You can imagine my surprise when I heard January! JG's had told me it was the morning of July 14th and numerous phone calls had been made back and forth The owner of the condo we wanted to rent was unable to rent it to us because it was already booked and had been for some time He went out of his way to help us, though It ended up, www.panamacityflresorts.com, the company that took care of renting his two condos at Edgewater was able to help us They were able to move another family that wanted to spend less, and it didn't matter if they stayed at Edgewater to another resort Though the condo was a little smaller then the original four bedroom, it was in tower III, and it all worked out I contacted John on Thursday evening and told him we were able to find other accommodations and would like our money back We agreed to meet on Saturday at his company store for a check We arrived at 4:but the store was closedWhen we called John had several excuses about when he could meet with us and he wasn't sure that he could get the money on Saturday He said the banks were closed that day He was told we would accept cash or a money order A couple hours later he did call us and asked to meet us outside our resort for the money John did give us money grams for the full amount I was glad John gave us our money back, but the whole ordeal was very stressfulI would not recommend doing business with him or his company Going on vacation is supposed to be a pleasant experience
