JH&K General Contracting

Short version: ***, LLC engaged *** to renovate an old house, including windows, electrical and plumbing. He and his subcontractor, Jim H *** separately and jointly failed to complete the work though they took our money. Of $68,017 worth of work for which they were paid, $36,478 worth of work was not completed. Because some of the work was contracted to *** and subbed to Jim and some of the work was contracted to Jim (after we realized that *** was not doing his job and before we realized that Jim was lying to us), it is not entirely clear how much of the $36,478 is owed by *** and how much by Jim.

Jim charged us to pull city permits that he was not actually qualified to pull. He told us he passed a plumbing inspection that had never happened. At our request, the Columbus Department of Building and Zoning came out and made an inventory of all the things that had been done improperly and it appeared that Jim's team only made a show of doing the electrical and and plumbing work so that we would pay him.
