Jib Lanes Reviews (1)

Review: A birthday party for our daughter at JIB Lanes was poorly executed by disinterested staff with blatant disregard for consumer rights and kids needs and abilities:Upon arrival to JIB for the scheduled party one ([redacted]) family was told that they were early but allowed to wait inside until we arrived, while another ([redacted]) family was told that they were too early, the party does not start until 3:30 PM, you have to wait for them outside. During our party, the JIB staff failed to provide adequate supervision (1 child was injured by inserting her fingers into an ill fitting ball: no one helped to size the ball to the childs age or ability) or to meet the basic needs of our guests (we had to ask 4 times for a refill of water pitchers, on a designated heat advisory day). In spite of the bowling alley being nearly empty, the staff refused to accommodate young kids who only wanted to roll the bowling ball 1-2 times, but instead insisted on charging us for 3 lanes in accordance with the total number of kids (not the number of actively bowling kids). Upon our disputing this charge, management turned off the lanes 3 times during which time many of the kids lost interest in bowling and began to engage in a game of tag, for which our hostess, [redacted], scolded them, even though she had previously done nothing to engage the interests of the kids present. For the meal, only 3 pies were served: 2 for the kids and 1 ostensibly for the adults. We had told [redacted] the morning of the party that there would be 12 kids. Growing kids participating in physical activity will eat at least two slices of pizza, so 12 kids would require 3 pies rather than 2 pies. None of the adults ate from the first 3 pies. 1 child left to go to the bathroom and upon return had no pizza to eat: It is very disheartening to tell a hungry child that there was no food available. Furthermore, [redacted] did not wear a hair covering or gloves on both hands, as required by the New York City health (DOH) code, when serving food.Desired Settlement: Refund of $15 charge for extra pizza and $36 "required gratuity" since enough food should have been included in the regular charge for the party package, and the service did not merit gratuity
