Jiffy Lube #2354

Review: I took my sons truck Dodge Ram 1500 Sport truck to Jiffy Lube on 3-3-14 The check engine light was on. I drove the truck to Emmeryville CA on Sat. 3-1-14 On my way home I noticed the light, I checked the Antifreeze bottle it was empty the radiator was full so I filled the antifreeze bottle I asked my son to check the truck and he did He said mom put same gas in it, So on Sun 3-2-14 I started to make a left turn off Watt to Florin the truck went dead so as I got out to stop the traffic a police man came up I explained to him my truck had stopped just as he started to walk to the left door the truck started as soon as I turned the key, So the police said he would drive behind me I drove with my hazard lights on after about 3-4 minutes the truck was running very well so the policeman gone me a sign and he went on his way.

On Monday morning on my way to work I stopped and put gas in the truck and I noticed the check engine light was on again I went to work and at 8am I took the truck to Jiffy Lube.

I was told after a while I needed a good tune up and that I needed their fuel cleaning system done.

I asked what was the price, all I wanted was the check engine light off, I asked if I needed a tune up so bad why didn't someone tell me on my last visit. Some one finally came and explained to me that they had 2 services and I could chose the one I needed and could afford. Again I asked the sales person to explain what I needed he told me I needed spark plugs and adjustment along with the fuel injection cleaning it was just before 10 am. So they started to work on the truck and after about an hour I inquired about the time I notice sometimes 1 to 2 persons would be working on it. So I walked outside to see if everything was ok. One of the young men told me my wires was all crossed upon the would be through 5 to 10 min.

Sometime after 12:00 pm I drove the truck to my moms house on ** 3633 ivy street, I could feel the truck missing I drove to the store and on my way to work at Norwood and just as I stepped the truck went dead I tried to start it 3 to 4 times I could hear air coming from some where under the hood I called Jiffy Lube they told me that it usually takes the cleaning a little longer to complete through the cleaning injections but they did nothing to tell me. Do I asked them to send someone to check the truck, they said they had another Jiffy Lube on Northgate about a mile form me and they would have someone out there soon. So the repairman said it sounded like someone forget to connect a hose but he connected all he could see and finally the truck seemed it was not getting gas, he left and said he would return he need a tool, he brought another young man with him they both worked until after 4 pm it seemed by this time my son and another person had stopped by and said I needed to have it towel to a shop and to check the gas, because it sounded like it was not getting any, so we had it towed to Cesar's Muffler by this time it was late so "Cesar's told us he would check the truck out on Tuesday morning and my son needed to call him.

So Kelvin called later on Tuesday and was told the truck needed a fuel pump. My son called around but was not able to get a used one, so the cost was $245.95 for the pump and $180. for the labor. So the following day I paid the amount and I asked Ceasar's if the truck would run knowing the fuel system and the truck was till missing he assured me it would I asked him if I could leave the truck at his shop for safety reasons I did not want to sit it on the streets over night. He assured me he could keep it. I promised to pay storage feel The truck started up the next morning so I parked it a could of blocks from his shop, so when I was able to get the truck I could feel the missing a little I drove it to my job less than 2 miles and after work I got in the truck to go home again it started but soon went dead I called Jiffy Lube, they told me I had to have it towed to the shop on Marconi with the receipt and was asked if there were not responsible that I needed to take the truck to another shop, by the time I got home he had called and said they would take responsibility to get another shop to do the repairs.Desired Settlement: see Attached document

Review: I went to jiffy lube to get only an oil change and when they were done my check engine light was on and it read 2 codes. They ordered the part they told me it would be there the next morning and they would fix what they messed up. When I came there the next morning the part was not there they refused to call the delivery people and refused to fix what they messed up on my car.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix what they messed up on my car. And if they can't do that then I want them to pay for it to get fixed because they are responsible for the damages.

Company states: When the consumer took the vehicle in we noticed a check engine light on. We notified her of it. She said she knew. We worked on the car and she got back out and said the check engine is on. We read the codes and it was the 02 sensors. We told her to come back because I was not there. She came back and used foul language. The police were called out. When I looked at the vehicle, the harness that connected to the 02 sensors, the wires were split and had butt-connectors. That could be the cause. She accused us of doing that. She also had one of those stickers on the back of the vehicle meaning that it would not pass smog.

I am rejecting this response because: That is a lie. I never had a check engine light on the whole time I owned that car. And they never told me it was on until after they were done with it. And after they checked the code that they put on there and went to the wrong 02 sensor that was not the code the code was for the one towards the back and he was pointing to a different 02 sensor and they also ordered the part and told me to come back the next morning so they can fix the problem they caused and when I got there the next morning thru switched up everything that they said.
