May 08,2014Dear Sir,In response to your letter dated April 28, Store manager did try to please customer regarding this issue and he did give $discount to please customer Basic oil change price for convention oil change is not $it is $and for [redacted] Synthetic price is $ not $and price menu is posted in customer lounge I believe customer is not looking his invoice tooJiffy lube give every customer for choice of oil and mileage they would like to come back.Unfortunately customer left from lot and CSA did not find him so He had only one option manufacturer recommended oil and that’s what he useCourtesy of Jiffy Lube we can offer Customer $if it is ok with himBasic oil change $36.99.Tax $ 2.95Total $39.94Customer Paid $Difference $9.72Sincerely,

Review: While getting my oil changed at Jiffy Lube on [redacted], I walked across the street to a clothing store for no more than 10 mins. When I initially walked into the store I asked what would be the cost of a conventional oil change. I was quoted some $35. I said great, let's do it. When I came back to Jiffy Lube, I inquired on the status of my car and they told me it was almost done. A few mins later they bring the car around, and I proceed to pay the bill. I'm quoted a near whopping $60!!! I ask immediately what services were performed on the car that would warrant such a high price point. I am told this car need "a special type' of oil and that they wouldn’t put conventional oil in because it would mess up the engine. Side bar, I've been putting conventional oil in ALL of my brand new cars for YEARS. While I know this is not the best, it’s the service I requested and I’ve had no problems. The manager and associate continue to argue with me that I walked away so they put in what they thought was best. I very adamantly argued back, regardless of what you ;'thought' our contract was for conventional; oil...nothing more nothing less....after a few snide remarks, such as it's only a couple dollars more and 'Do you want me to take it out and put in the other oil' after 30 mins had already been wasted. I left the store as to not cause further commotion, but I was, and still am, FURIOUS. I am EXTREMLY dissatisfied with their service. Jiffy Lube is NOTORIOUS for overcharging customers and it makes one ask themselves how are they still in business and why??!Desired Settlement: I would like Jiffy Lube to send me the difference I had to pay out of pocket for the mechanics unauthorized decision to put synthetic oil in my car. They blatantly disregarded my request as a consumer and did what they wanted and left me with the bill asking me 'So what are you gonna do??'.
