Jiffy Lube - Silver Spring Reviews (2)

I had Suburban Sewer and Septic come to my home on May 28, to help me resolve a problem with my patio drain The drain which fed my sump pump was clogged and would not drain into my sump pump My patio was submerged Suburban Sewer came out and attempted via a "blow bag" procedure to clear the drain It did not work, but they charged me $ They said I required a bigger machine, a Hydrojet, to clear the drain, but that would cost $ I waited and two weeks later after another rain event, I called Suburban Sewer to ask them to come out and clear the drain with the Hydrojet They came out, ran the machine, said my drain was cleared and gave me a bill for $ A week later, after another rain event, my patio flooded again Clearly the drain was not cleared I called another Plumber for a second opinion This plumber came out and diagnosed the problem and used an air pressure compression to solve the problem The drain cleared immediately and has remained clear to this day I tried to have my credit card company refuse to pay for the Suburban Sewer charge, but they refused to get involved These people are total frauds and should be banned from work in this state

[redacted] is trying to scam and get something for free. Our store manager tried to handle this at the store level but he does not want to take responsibility for his own vehicle.
Attached is an unaltered copy of his invoice from his oil change service on 10/26/14. For general knowledge,...

Jiffy Lube's POS system tracks if any invoice has been changed from it's original cash out form and this invoice has not been altered. As you can see, he did not pay for a transmission service at our store as he states. He states he paid $82.99 for a transmission service but our transmission service is $129.99. His service total at this service was $32.29 after receiving $5 off for a coupon, paid cash and even gave $.30 in change. None of this included any transmission service. My store manager has also never discussed with him about any fluid being 'slick', and never offered to replace any parts for him.As I side note, [redacted]'s vehicle has almost 108,000 miles as stated on the attached invoice. He has a history of 14 service visits to different Jiffy Lubes starting when the vehicle had 24,000 miles.  He does not have a history of having the transmission fluid changed once at any of those 14 visits. Manufacturer recommends his [redacted] to have the transmission fluid replaced every 60,000 miles. Unless he has done this service elsewhere this fluid has been long neglected and should have been changed a long time ago. If Jiffy Lube, the dealer, or any other business had replaced his transmission fluid at 108,000 miles it would not have been the new fluid that would have damaged the transmission. It would be from driving on the transmission under high temperatures, and wear on the internal parts due to not changing the fluid earlier at its recommended interval. This is part of Jiffy Lubes service, we review the manufacturer recommended services with each customer so they can keep their vehicle properly maintained. [redacted] had 9 services at different Jiffy Lubes after 60,000 miles yet the transmission fluid was never changed once even though every Jiffy Lube would have recommended it each time.
What happens to a vehicle if you do not change the engine oil at regular recommended intervals? It exposes the engine to excessive temperatures and wear and eventually fails. This can happen with all fluids in a vehicle and this is the reason there are set mileage intervals to change these fluids. Fluids breakdown after a period of time and do not do their job to protect. It is the customers responsibility to maintain their vehicle and do manufacturer recommended services at their correct mileage intervals.  If a vehicle owner does not maintain their vehicle they have to take responsibility for what happens, don't try to blame a business establishment and try to get something for free.
If [redacted] is claiming the solenoid is what is damaged then any experienced mechanic can explain that when a solenoid fails or gets stuck open or closed it's usually due to dirty fluid from failure to changing the transmission fluid at the recommended intervals. Definitely not due to new fluid.  He also wants a settlement of $15,000 which is more than the value of the whole car? This doesn't sound like a scam? Replacing a solenoid can cost anywhere between $200-$800 depending on the vehicle and where you have it serviced.
We have been in this business for 28 years because we provide our community with honest service, not such as he is claiming. Unfortunately, in these 28 years we have seen many customers not maintain their vehicles and this is the result.
You can see the attached invoice and see why his 'claim' was denied. Even if we had done the fluid change on this vehicle the claim would still have been denied due to the damage to the transmission being caused by neglect and not from new fluid.
