know our paint job was done correctly by industry standards, granted the crew which did the job let a few issues slip by which have already been addressed and corrective action taken, but the real problem was not caused by our work but unforeseen issues from years ago which she does not understand After our last attempt to repair the problem we discovered a much deeper problem from the paint three layers back which was first thought to be an Oil based product but after careful examination and consulting with other paint professionals is now believed to be an old layer of Lead based paint which is separating from the original wood siding causing the pealing I have already removed nearly 90% of the paint from one wall up to aproxft high with the worse pealing issues by scraping and sanding all the way down to the bare wood, and while doing so the original first layer of paint was coming off in strips, one of which was given to her with an explanation thought at that time to be oil based paint Only later suspected to be lead based paint which at that time the way painting was done I am willing to do what is reasonably necessary to remove as much as possible and to repaint to resolve the problem at my own expense By her own admission the house was repainted right after Hurricane Rita and was already pealing This paint job should have lasted at least twice as long assuming a quality paint was used which it appears to have been I will be on the job personally to assure everything is done as good as reasonably possible but even with more scraping and sanding and a repaint some peeling issues may still occur in the future which is beyond my control I could have just slapped another coat of paint on it and been done, but that is not how I do business and I do hope she can appreciate the extra effort I put into correcting her problem. As of this date 5/2/I have contacted Ms *** and scheduled the work to begin ASAP weather permitting, with intentions of being complete before mid month at latest
