Saturday morning August 27, my wife, youngest son, and I were looking at used vehicles. We had found a Chevrolet Cruze online that we were interested in seeing at Jim Glover On The River. Upon entering their car lot we were meet by Matt H[redacted] who introduced himself as a sale manager. We looked at the vehicle and was informed by Matt they had just received another Chevy Cruze in inventory he referred to as a “hidden gem”. It was very low mileage and we were told it came from someone at Oklahoma Methodist Manner who was no longer able to drive. It had not been cleaned up or gone thru their safety inspection. We went to the back to look at the vehicle. Initially we were informed the vehicle could not be driven since it had not gone thru their safety check. Since we were interest Matt immediately offered to let us drive the car and would be okay since he was going with us. We ran it thru their automatic car wash and took it for a test drive. We were quoted $11,988. After returning from the test drive and we were still considering the car, Matt, was called away. Another salesman arrived on a golf cart to show the vehicle to another customer as we were still looking, considering if we were interested, and waiting for Matt to return. That salesman and the other customer left. Gary (did not give a last name) showed up on another golf cart and told us they would not sell the vehicle for the price we were quoted. I said to him, “so you will not honor the price we were quoted” and he responded “that’s correct”, the general manager will not agree to it. We then walked from the back lot to our vehicle to leave. Before we could even get to our vehicle, the car was pulled up front and the other customer was getting in for what appeared to be a test drive. How can a car dealership quote a price and then withdraw the price because some other customer appears to be interested? In my opinion, this is at least unethical and everyone looking for a vehicle should be informed how Jim Glover treated us.
