Jim Harris Buick, Pontiac, GMC Truck Reviews (2)

Review: Yesterday I called and asked about a pickup truck price. I was quoted 33,500. Today I called to see if there was any change in he pricing and was told 37,500 right out of the gate. When I revealed to the sales ant that I had gotten a 33,500 price the previous day, he back pedaled quickly and said that the owner had hired in a special sales team that jacked all the prices up for the next 4 days; however, since he had spoken with me yesterday; he was still willing to honor the previous day's price. Why the same salesman if a new team had been hired? Seemed quite fishy to me.Desired Settlement: Just to warn other consumers or fishy sales tactics.

Revdex.com Case # [redacted]

Every vehicle has suggested retail pricing that is first quoted as

a starting point to ultimately show the value of our discounted pricing

structure, and every vehicle can be negotiated down and/or offered for a

minimum acceptable price. The salesman did right by quoting the $37,500

suggested retail, his only mistake was not realizing he had the same customer

on the phone that he had previously offered a lower minimum price to. And

the salesperson used a very poor choice of words in a haste to

conceal his own ignorance.

I do have an outside company here this week. I think it is

the best thing I’ve ever done for my customers – everyone that comes in gets a

prize, I even gave a car away at this same sale last year. However I do

not allow “jacking” of prices or “fishy” sales tactics. Actually, I take

offense to that suggestion. I have been here 24 years and have always

been proud to run an honest, friendly, and reputable dealership. I rest

well at night knowing that I enjoy going to public places and am able to talk

to all my customers with a handshake and a smile.

Review: I recently purchased a vehicle from Jim Harris after a week had gone by I discovered that I was charged six thousand dollars more that the vehicle is worth. I called to speak with the onwer and was hung up on without an explanation. It is really ironic that the day I purchased the vehicle he personally came out and gave me a hug a couple of weeks later I contact the owner for an explanition and he hangs up on me, how rude and disrespectful for the owner to act this way. This is going to make great PR in the coming weeks.Desired Settlement: I am willing to keep the vehicle and pay for it but pay six thousand dollars more without a legit explanation is out of the question.

Response:

Buying a car is a negotiated process that is mutually agrrrd upon and not forced on anyone. I have been here over 20 years and have never had a complaint such as this and I go to the Warrenton stores and out in public without having to worry about running into anyone who is upset with my dealership. I both live and do business in this community and am certainly not going to run a shady business not just because I live her but because it is the right thing to do.

There's many ways on the internet to compile "values" for used vehicles, they are all just guides that have to be subject to common sense individual evaluation. I paid over "book value" for [redacted] vehicle because I know the person that I got it from and I know how they took care of it. The vehicle was immaculate and worth much more than average.

We allowed [redacted] $[redacted]. for her trade that was wholesaled for its true value of $[redacted].

After doing the maath above, yes that leaves some profit, chich I use to pay a considerable amount of local, state and federal taxes, as well as charity in my community and generously take care of 16 employees so them and their families can also promote the communitys economy.

I will not be refunding any of what little is left of my profit.
