I was contacted from a representative from Jim McKay saying that they went by your income. I repeatedly asked if my credit would play a factor I was informed it would not. After a ONE HOUR drive there!! I get there and they verify my income then asked for a social to basically run credit I need a car bad and the way it was explained to me the credit would not play a factor. Next thing I know I am being asked for a Co- Signer I obliged again the car is needed and my credit is in rebuilding stage. It was late when I got there so the bank was closing so I was told I would be contacted the next day around 12 pm which was a lie. I called on and off from 1 pm until 8 pm from the rude tones to the hang-ups at last I was able to speak to the general manager Ken R[redacted] which he just put a Band-Aid on the unsatisfactory customer service that they showed all I wanted was answers and they couldn’t even give me that. Shame on them for giving false hope and inconsideration to a customer. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Review: I brought a car from Jim Mckay in March of 2013. I was first told that I had to put $1500 as a down payment. Once I got to the dealership I was asked for $2000 and ended up becoming $3000. That should have been my first red flag. The next day I called and told my sales person that I had changed my mind and he told me that I could not change my mind, when I haven't even taken the car off the lot yet. Once I finally got the car off the lot the car didn't even pass Maryland state inspection. I had to get my break pads repaired. About 1 month later I had to return to get my trunk repaired which is still not repaired as well as my signals looked at. The signal lights are still going out. Now its about three months later and not my transmission starts to slip. I called my sales person and was told there is nothing he could do about it. So after about 5 months of me complaining and my boyfriend complaining and also making the decision to not make another payment until they did something about it. They also turned my car off about three times for being about 2 weeks late on my car payments. They finally had me to bring the car up about Sept. This is after I was talked to very rude and disregarded several times. When I get to the dealership I was told it would take about five days, which ended up turning into three weeks. Now I have my car back and now there are more issues then when I brought it in the first place. As I was driving three hours back to where I live the car cut off several times causing me to almost get into a few accidents. As well as the car is jumping when I accelerate. I have almost gotten in about six accidents on my way home. I called the owner and she got very rude and disrespectful on the phone and now they want me to bring the car back to the. The car is not safe to drive let alone a three hour drive. I am very unhappy with the service that I have received. I have asked them many times to please just get me out of this car and into a different one. They keep refusing. I don't know what to do anymore. I have given these people more then $5000 on this car.Desired Settlement: I would really like to just be put into a different vehicle

Review: Jim McKay Chevrolet in Fairfax, Va is the worst car dealership I have ever been too. The sales reps are great, but the finance department led by Mr. Jimmy is terrible. The sales reps are overwhelmed with customers, so it was hard to get sales rep to go over specifics with certain vehicles, and payment options. I told the finance department that I did not want to leave with the car until I received hard tags,I got the run around. Mr. Jimmy said in a week I would receive them, now its a week, and I still have no hard tags. I received a customer survey via email and expressed my dissatisfaction. Mr. Jimmy contacted me via phone and explained to me that he was not happy with my survey. He said to me that he would cancel my loan and for me to buy a car elsewhere. He continued to scream and yell over the phone. Again, its been a little over a week, I still not only don't have my tags, I don't have the car that was purchased on 09/11/2014. Regional Acceptance stated that my loan documents were returned to the Jim McKay Chevrolet at the request of the finance department. ALL I WANTED WAS HARD TAGS PRIOR TO TAKING THE VEHICLE HOME. Jim McKay should have tags for DC and Maryland residents. All customers don't reside in Virginia. What would have happened if I drove away with the car on 09/11/2014.Desired Settlement: I would like Jim McKay to reopen my loan at a lower monthly rate, and for someone to ensure me that I'm not being overcharged for my loan. I would Jim McKay to be more proactive in obtaining my hard tags. Something needs to be done about "Jimmy" the Finance director. He should not be in a position in which he is allowed to speak to customers any type of way, especially when he is in the wrong.

Review: I had seen a television commercial on a promotion they were advertising for liquidation on cars so they had advertised no money down no credit check just your proof of income of 1500-2000 dollars a month through proof of two recent pay stubs ID and proof of residency through a mailing document and you will be approved for ANY new or pre owned car. I called the number left my information and a rep from that company called me back then had asked me a few questions as far verifying income and information. He advised me on file I had been approved and that all was needed was the proof of the documents needed for INCOME only verification. However I discussed this with my parent and she had advised me that it would be better to do it under her name only. I called them back to let them know the change of the name that will be financing the car which was my mother because of better income, I asked them to contact my mother to give more info and verification. A rep by the name of [redacted] who we were also closely working with called my mother and have her the final information we needed. [redacted] advised my mother again after my mother has asked murmurous times that it was a program that is financing customers that have a least 1500-2000 of income through proof of recent pay stubs and identification, my mother [redacted] had also advised [redacted] that she has another loan on a car currently and if that would be an issue in financing for this program we are inquiring. [redacted] advised my mother that it wouldn't be problem at ll and that it would better. After my mother had asked her one last time that as long we had the proof of the documents that are required for the tv program we would be approved and drive with a car off the lot that day. [redacted] restated that was correct and as long as you have the documents and proof that we would be fine. When we arrived all the information was not true. [redacted] was not present and we were falsely mislead. The managers treated us poorly and offered no remorse.Desired Settlement: Based on the false statements and promises from the employees that work at Jim McKay on the address and phone number we provided we would like that promotion to be honored as we're promised based on the documents that were needed and required for this promotion. Resolving this issue would mean them granting an exception because of false advertisement and false info from their employees involved in this incident. We were promised a vehicle and a agreement based on the documents we needed.

Review: When going to have my vehicle serviced today 8/4/2014 at Jim McKay Chevrolet I waited for approximately 6 minites before being acknowledged by the sales staff. Normal history when visiting a Chevrolet dealership in Charlotte NC is utmost customer service but this clearly was not the case. The representative Bob Homstad asked if I had an appointment I advised no. His response to my "no" was exasperation. I asked him is a problem that I don't have an appointment. Going in today I realized that I would have to wait since this dealership was not my first choice anyways. After a series of probing questions Bob finally got up to get my vehicle information. Then proceeds to take my personal informatoin. As I am giving him the informatoin he asked me a series of questions which I answered, then we are back to the first initial quesitons. If he cannot type of keep up that is not my problem. After becoming displeased with his lack of professionalism and at this point attitude I decided to request for a different person to assist me becuase I refuse to spend my money at an establishment with POOR customer service. Bottome line I decided to walk away because I can service my vehicle else were and receive better service being that I have to pay for those services. I asked for the General Manager's informatoin and BOB claimed his door was locked so refused to give me the name and contact number. This is a reflection of poor customer service and I will use every social media means to display my discuss with the behavior and poor service received.Desired Settlement: I would like a formal apology at for I am capable to pay for my sevices and have never received such poor service ever when getting my vehicle serviced.

Review: We brought our 2005 [redacted] in because the heat did not work. My husband had already spent countless hours and money replacing things he thought could be the problem. They apparently cannot fix the problem either. After several hours of "labor time" (up to $500+) just taking the truck apart trying to figure out the problem, they contacted my husband and said they couldnt find anything wrong yet and they had other cars that they needed to get out of the shop so would it be OK if they parked it for a few days and went back to it. We said that was not a problem. A few days later we are notified by them that they didnt know the problem and a radiator MIGHT be the issue. We said OK but we will do it ourselves since it would have cost about $400 for them to do. We spent $200 on the parts and he did it himself, which did not fix the heat problem. I am unhappy because we just wasted $500 for the GENERAL MOTORS DEALER to tell us they cannot fix it. We took it to them because they should know how to fix a problem. I have contacted General Motors regarding this and I have not heard back from them. We ended up having to get a new car since we have a 1 year old, and we need heat for her.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. We got nothing out of their services, and this is unacceptable for this to be coming from a certified dealer.

Review: Worst dealership ever!

First, my husband was told that his job was his credit, he was PRE-approved with no money down and they did not check your credit... LIE!!! Said we weren't approved, we left and 3 minutes later were called and told that we were approved. Went back the next week to pick up the car and was told that we had to do something else that we had not been told we had to do! Jumped through hoops and was approved. Ended up paying $1000 down and they checked credit!

NOW, after having my car for 1 1/2 weeks, YES, you heard me, 1 1/2 weeks they called me and told me to BRING THE CAR BACK! Why you ask... because I am a teacher, it's July, I am going to a new school system, but still getting paid by my previous system until the end of August. Since we're out for the summer, it's considered I don't have a job until the new school year starts. This is with them having verification of pay stubs still coming in from previous school system and new school system verification of employment starting in a week when school starts! THEN the Finance Manager, JIMMY, has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! He was rude by telling me to have HIS car back by the morning or he was going to do this that and the other! Called me fraudulent, as well! After I continued to try to explain and gain better understanding because this made absolutely no sense, he told me that he didn't have time to go back and forth with me because he had work to do, as if I did not matter! I have never seen people who are so incompetent that they don't know how to deal with people! Whether I have good credit, bad credit, money or no money, I should have been listened to! I pray no one else has this experience with them! Because it is the worst!

I bought my car here and have been getting serviced since then. This is simply the best dealership around.
