Jim Norton Toyota Reviews (%countItem)

I went to the Jim Norton Website on several occasions looking for a 2019 4runner TRD Pro. I have called numerous times about vehicles that they have listed as "in stock" or "available". I have yet to actually see one in person when I was told they had one. Yeah I should have learned the first time I drove all the way there to see it, only to be told "it's on the way". After getting burned twice, I learned. So I would call, and verify that the "in stock" actually meant, they didn't have one at all. So here is the real rub; they currently have one listed as "in stock" so I looked in the right corner of my computer screen to where it says GET YOUR BEST PRICE NOW. Please remember, I am clicking on the screen that had the 2019 4runner TRD Pro listed...stock #13572 and there was an associated VIN as well. The price from their own website (it is currently there as I type...I do have photo evidence) is $44,229. AND it still says 2019 Toyota 4runner TRD Pro with the Jim Norton Toyota of OKC header at the top of the page. I called yesterday (1/22/2019) at approx. 6:09PM and spoke with a woman in there internet sales dept. about buying that vehicle at that price. She text me today (1/23/2019)and told me their "system doesn't have the capacity to recognize the difference in the matrix pricing from a regular 4Runner from a 4Runner Pro. The OTD cost of this vehicle is actually 49154." The website right now as of 3:28pm, has a price of 47,860 (with a little cute red line thru it). That current price is listed right above the "GET YOUR BEST PRICE NOW" link. To me this is deceptive advertising. This is a disgraceful way to try to do business.

My initial review was: 5 stars because John ***, the salesman, was quite nice -- but here is my UPDATE:
16 days after purchasing a brand new car worth $50,000 my friend sat in the backseat of our car for the first time ever (the back seat had yet to be used) and she noticed the leather was ripped in 3 places. We took it back to Jim Norton to see what could be done where they have told us they will not fix this issue at all as it is, "Normal wear and tear." I never would have thought that when the first person to ever sit in our backseat (we never sat in the back) would allegedly rip the leather. Which means Jim Norton Toyota sold us this vehicle with 3 rips in the leather when we bought it in the middle of the night (they are not in a place that a person's pocket could rip or a place that is easily noticeable) or Toyota's quality is so HORRIBLE that they consider this to be normal. Either way, I do NOT recommend buying your car with these unhelpful people who clearly do not care about the quality of their vehicles or the quality of their customer service. I will be reporting this and them the Revdex.com immediately. BUYER BEWARE.

On 3/28/18 I went to Jim Norton Toyota to see about financing a used car, and trading in my Mustang. I have never financed anything nor do I have established credit. I knew that in order to get financed my interest rate would be very high. I also understand that is just something that you have to do to start down the path of getting established credit. Upon initial conversation they offered me $1500 trade in on my Mustang and I was looking at a 2013 Malibu 1LT with over 83,000 miles on it that the salesman "Rachid" said they had just taken in as a trade on that same day from an older couple and that it was a single owner vehicle. He went back and spoke to his finance manager "Blake ***" and then came back out to speak with me, stating that the Malibu was $16,789.00, BUT that they were going to HELP me out so I could get a bank loan and start establishing credit. So they would sell me the car for $13,944 AND give me $3500 for my Mustang and this would put me in the range to get financed with Santander at a 21% interest rate. I wasn't surprised by the interest rate if fact expected that. However I knew something wasn't right that out of the kindness of their hearts they were going from giving me $1500 for my Mustang to $3500. So given that I had never conducted business like this before I called my mom who purchases a new car every 2 years to meet me at the dealership. As she arrives the salesman takes us out to look at the car and she expressed concern that the car had not been cleaned "still had previous owners license plate in the backseat" it didn't have any of the required information stickered on the windows like a sale price, warranty info, mileage nothing not a single sticker. Then my mom ask him to pop the trunk and we see a tire laying in the trunk "JUST a tire NOT on a rim" so she ask him to lift up the panel to see if there was an actual spare or donut tire. There was not; all that was there was a pump. The salesman then proceed to tell us that this is the new way they provide spares "EVERYONE is going to it he says" he then tries to convince us that if you get a flat you use the pump to seal the flat and air up the damaged tire in order to get somewhere. Ok MAYBE but what if its a blowout or in the sidewall and a sealant isn't going to get you anywhere. He states well there is a tool that you use to take the damaged tire off the rim then you use the same tool to put the tire "the one laying in the trunk" onto the rim you just took the other tire off of and then you use the pump to air it up and put it back on. I have never heard something so ridiculous in my life, so you telling me that the average Joe has enough strength to literally break a damaged tire off a rim by hand. Ending with if a deal did occur they would at least need to provide a donut tire. As we get inside the sales man brigs out the offer with the prices mentioned above for the Malibu. My mom gets online on her phone to see what this same vehicle is valued at and what they have been selling for only to find that within 10 miles of our address there is an identical car for sale for $10,891; so she clicks on it and it is the exact car for sale at Jim Norton Toyota and its listed on their web site. So the salesman is continuing his conversation about the great deal he is offering when my mom shows him their web site with the exact listing "11011A" and says so explain to me why you are trying to sell him this car for 13,9444 when its listed on your site for $10,891. The salesman ask to borrow my phone so he can show his finance manager the online listing. "we happened to be sitting at the table right next to the windows of where the finance team sets to observe their interaction. The salesman comes back out with the form and states well the $13,944 has bank fees in because of his credit score being low. My mom says okay why are you adding the dealerships bank fees to the cost of the vehicle, that is a fee that the dealership is responsible and should not be passed on or lumped into the sale price of the vehicle "pretty sure that's against the Used car commission federally mandated requirements of conducting business as a licensed dealer", the bank will make their money off him though the 21% interest. So the salesman goes back to the finance manager and again we stand to observe for several minutes and the salesman comes back out with a new offer, $16,789 reduced to the online price of $10,891 but that before the deal was done they would be adding bank fees back into the purchase price. Meanwhile my mom looks up the price of a new 2018 Malibu and discovers that you can buy a brand new one for $21,000 and they are trying to convince us they are reducing their Malibu from $16,789 to HELP me out...My mom then says no your not doing this to "HELP HIM OUT" and I believe I understand what is occurring, and she wanted to speak with the finance manger "Blake". My mom had both of the offers the original before she called them out on the online price and then the second with the online price that they said they would add the "BANK FEES" back into. The salesman asked my mom for both of those copies saying he would make copies and she said that's okay I will just hang on to these, he said well I just need to make copies and she again said I will keep these and you can re-print them for your own files, he then asked for them for a third time and she finally said, you can make copies however I expect both of these to be put back in my hands. We then stood up watched him through the glass for about 5 minutes speaking with the Finance Manager and making copies. The finance manager then comes out to speak with my mom and has a set of papers in his hand. Blake then proceeds to show my mom my credit report and explains that because my score is low Santander will charge the dealership bank fees, my mom then explained to Blake that she fully understood what was occurring which stemmed from the initial offer going from $1500 to $3500 trade on the Mustang and that they raised the cost of the car to offset "Manipulate the paperwork being sent to the bank" which would have been a $2000 difference. So here's the math car listed online $10,891 + $2000 difference in trade = 12,891 they were trying to sell it for $13,944 - $12,891 = $1053 in what was being added into his GREAT DEAL PRICE for bank fees that should be should be assessed to the dealership not the consumer. My mom then begins to state that the fact that a HUGE company like Toyota should be ashamed of someone in the business representing their brand in this way, and that they should be ashamed of trying to manipulate a young first time buyer trying to get himself established in the manner of which they did. Blake then says ma'am I cant disagree with you. As we prepare to leave my mom picks up the paperwork and realizes that Blake failed to bring back the original offer sheet and she demands that he bring it back to her immediately which he did. So we have all of the documentation to prove what occurred at Jim Norton Toyota. My mother them peruses having a conversation with a member of management. She explains the situation, and the manger did have documents in front of him however discovered that he had not received the original offer and he ask her to email it to him which he does. He then states he still has the Malibu and he could still get that car and that the dealership has about $8400 into it. He would see what he could do, it only sounds reasonable that after this type of treatment that they would give it to him at cost, none of them deserve to make any money on it. My mom then speaks with him again the following day after he sends an email stating that he didn't have anything at tis time they could put him in "well they were sure okay with putting me in the Malibu at almost $14,000 so what's the problem now, he states he wasn't going to lose $3000 on a car, and my mom says you expect me to feel bad that your not going to make money but your business was okay with trying to manipulate my son and profit over $5000 and put him in debt nearly $40,000 for a 2013 Malibu with 83,000 miles? So she instead of breaking even and doing what's right your not going to do anything. So she said well I will just call an attorney now that you have ran his credit and dropped his credit score even further, furthermore I will contact the Oklahoma Used Car Commission and report their conduct and make this known to the public. I wonder how many people are going to see this or hear about it and start looking into the purchase details of their vehicles. Not to mention you had no information posted on the vehicle "Malibu and that alone is a federally mandated requirement that comes with a fine of over $41,000 dollars so, I will report that as well it will be easy enough for them to see it on security footage as it was directly in front of the front doors. He then says I'm trying to help you and now your trying to blackmail me, my mom said I am not trying to blackmail you I'm not asking for anything for free, in fact your email states that at this time you don't have a car that you can put him in yet the Malibu is there that you were going to put him in just a few days ago. Your not trying to help your trying to CYA, and I have the right to report your business for the type of manipulation, treatment and conduct that ensued as a result of trying to do business with your establishment. How and his email states he has addressed his finance manger on the situation... But guess who still has a job! Absolutely disgusting behavior, poor representation of the Toyota brand, insulting, repulsive and I could go on. Pull out your paperwork folks you may want to look into just HOW GOOD OF A DEAL YOU GOT! I will be taking this to the Oklahoma Commission tomorrow. They are worried about loosing $3000 as opposed to breaking even I hope they get investigated and fined for Every regulation that was broke. Maybe then Upper leadership will dig into the situation and ensure they get the right people with ethics and standards representing their Toyota brand and establishment at Jim Norton Toyota on NW Expressway in OKC.
