Jim Paul's Tax Service

I have been using Jim Pauls tax service for about 15 years with no problems. Well, that changed in 2023. I gave Jim my 2021 and 2022 W-2s in April of 23; it is now September 2023 and I have no return. I have no idea if my taxes were even filed yet. I have been calling him on his cell and office phone for months. I left several voice messages and sent a ton of text messages with NO RESPONSE. I checked his reviews and found that he has done this several times to his customers. I'm appalled by the service I received this year. Since I liked the service I received for many years, I did not want to leave a bad review or file a complaint with the IRS. I now feel have no other choice. My money is being held hostage and the several months of trying to reach him is now exhausted.

I have used Jim for several years with no problems. Then early in 2016, I received notification that my 2014 local income tax had not been filed by Jim. I spent 2 weeks trying to get a response via the emails and phone calls I sent him but he never responded. I then submitted my 2014 return on my own. I decided to try hIm again for my 2015 taxes. 2 weeks elapsed and my federal refund was deposited into my account. After 5 weeks I had still not received my state refund. I contacted Jim and asked if they had been filed. He did not return several emails and phone calls. When I checked with the state, they advised that no return had been filed. I continued to get no response for several days. He finally responded and stated he was too busy to respond and that he had filed my return 7 weeks after processing it. The amount was also different from what he had told me it would be by $50. You need the correct amount to search the state website. But I guess accounting is not important for a tax preparer.
