This is not what happened. The car was fine when I brought it in. I asked for the brakes to be checked along with the alternator. Then I receive a phone call that the engine was seized then called again and said he got it started and now it's blowing white smoke all over.

[redacted] left his car with a list, check brakes, altertor light and running hot . we went to bring the car in, turned key and the engine made a clunking noise. battery and starter,ok. manually the engine would not turn over, no coolant in radiator. called [redacted] , told him what we found. we...

continued to check further into it. we found coolant in the engine cylinder. it was hydro locking you cannot compress coolant, it will lock up. drained coolant, engine started to smoke out of exhaust.tolld [redacted] it was either a cracked head or a bad head gasket. if he  wanted us to proceed I would need some money up front because it was not  going to be a minor repair. I also said he might be able to drive the car home because there was no coolant in the engine for it to lock up. he said he would stop by after work to pay me for the 2hr(189.30) the bill is for diagnostic work. after we closed he took the car and has not come back

[redacted] is not saying even before he left the car at my shop he called and said the  car was having issues (there fore not running fine) and wasn,t sure it would make it. he did leave the car telling [redacted] a list of things he wanted checked, one of them-running hot. as I said before the car would not start and we proceeded to find out why. found water in the cylinder. I called him and told him what we found. he said how could this happen. I said you must have run it hot and he said it was hot but not that hot   [redacted]

Review: Nothing was repaired and tried to charge me $200.00 for nothing. Told numerous stories of what was wrong with vehicle then when asked for estimate for repair said could not give it to me because he didn't know what was wrong with it. He also said needed money upfront. Said car was banging and knocking something was blown in motor which wasn't the case when I brought it in to have alternator and brakes replaced which wasn't done either.When went to pick car up no knocking no banging car started right up and in same exact condition as I brought it in.Desired Settlement: Not paying for nothing done
