After months in her college apartment fighting bugs, warding off strangers, and dealing with a rude maintenance staff, *** *** woke up to the worst nightmareHer vehicle had a huge rock thrown through the window, and her belongings and identity had been stolen
Scared for her safety, her mother and two friends got a truck and moved her home that same day The family had leased the apartment from Goebel Realty, thinking this well known company would provide safe apartment for their daughter because of their prominent image
In the time *** lived in the Goebel apartment, there was a gang murder less than a block from where she parked and entered her apartment She was frequently approached and yelled at by individuals roaming the neighborhood Her bedding and clothing became infested with bedbugs, roaches and spidersThe apartment was teaming with pestsEvery stitch of fabric had to be professionally cleaned, costing the parents even more money
Instead of caring for this college girls safety, Goebel Realty punished her family financially with a lease break fee twice the morning monthly rent - and she only owed two more months! Then, they turned around at least it again right away, essentially double dipping!
Damage to *** vehicle was taken care of by the family, not Goebel Realty Meanwhile, the identity theft attempts continue to this day on both *** and her father
Beware of who you lease fromThe apartment is only as good as the real estate company Goebel does NOT care about the safety or wellbeing of their tenants They only want your MONEY!!! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
I rented from Goebel from January to December There were a few hiccups at move-inThe office staff said my rent included cable, and after signing the lease, I found out I was told that in error (I should have read the lease more thoroughly!) My unit at *** *** had been remodeled before I moved in, and they'd forgotten to connect the hot water to the washing machineHowever, they fixed this promptly and responded punctually to all other maintenance issues I reported, of which there were very fewI appreciated Goebel's very thorough vetting of tenants, as I had no problems with my neighborsMaintenance always gave advance notice in writing when they entered my apartment to change air filters and thermostat batteriesThe apartment was spacious and included a washer and dryer and new appliancesI received my full deposit at move-out, and I only regret not being able to stay longer! Despite a bumpy start, I would rent from Goebel again in a heartbeat
