Hi,My mistake is that I stated he called on Decand yes my notes on the call do say he called on the morning of Dec This is a copy of the actual notes I posted that morning: " [redacted] CALLED 12/11/AND INFORMED US HIS VEHICLE DIED IN THE FAST LANE OF THE FREEWAY HE LIMPED OFF THE FREEWAY AND WE ADVISED HIM TO CALL CERTIFIED AUTO REPAIR AND HAVE THEM DIRECT HIM TO A SHOP IN HIS AREA, AS HE LIVES IN SAN BERNARDINO HE TOWED IT TO BUDGET TRANSMISSION (***) [redacted] WE HAD REPLACED TIMING BELT/WATERPUMP, SERPINTINE BELTS AND RADIATOR CAP HE CHOSE NOT TO REPLACE RADIATOR HOSES WHILE HERE TOP OF THE RADIATOR BLEW- UNRELATED TO WHAT WE HAD REPAIRED." Jimmy did drive his vehicle prior to it leaving, and ok'd it to go As I stated in my last email to you, He also complained to the BAR- if you would like to reference the the closed complaint with the BAR Bureau of Automotive State of California [redacted] researched this same complaint and closed the case in our favor His email is [redacted] @dca.ca.gov ###-###-#### [redacted] Jimmy D's Car Care Center, Inc

I am rejecting this response because: I do not know if this matters or notBut I would just like that truth be stated in facts and not the statements that were written on the responseFirst in the statement "Jimmy (shop owner) drives all vehicles prior to releasing to customer and checks once again under hood." This is not true for I witnessed myself, he drove around the block and when he arrived back he did not open to the hood to check if everything was working properlyHe just gave the keys to me and said everything was okSecond written statement " [redacted] called us on Dec from the side of the freeway stating while driving in the fast lane his vehicle was overheating with steam coming from under hood." This is a statement Dec 10th is a Sunday and Jimmy D's auto care closed at pm this dayThe car did not break down till my drive home on the evening of Dec 10th I have proof of time with AAA when I called them that evening to have my car towedI called Jimmy D's the following morning on Dec 11th and told them what had happenedThey also stated "I advised him to not drive any further" I could not drive the car at all by this time because the engine stopped working that is why I had it towed the night before on Dec 10th

***, We did have *** *** here on Dec and did complete a diagnostic- finding a broken timing belt. He is correct we do recommend a water pump at the same time due to their location and both parts are sold as a kit. The radiator cap had a cracked seal and would not
hold pressure, so yes we also recommended replacing that, as well as both serpentine belts and a transmission mount- *** agreed. We also recommended doing the radiator hoses as they were original hoses and front brake pads as they were almost metal to metal. *** agreed to all repairs other than the hoses and brake padsJimmy (shop owner) drives all vehicles prior to releasing to customer and checks once again under hood. *** called us on Dec from the side of the freeway stating while driving in the fast lane his vehicle was overheating with steam coming from under hood. I advised him to not drive any further and contact " Certified Auto Repair" who handles our warranty process and advised him they would advise him on where to have it towed. I did tell him that if it was anything related to our repairs that he would be covered. After his car was towed to Budget Transmission in San Bernardino he did call to inform me that they(Budget) had informed him his engine had melted. I requested Budget's contact information and had Jimmy call them directly. We requested they preform a pressure test (which we would cover)The pressure test did not find fault in the water pump/timing belt it found fault in the radiator as the top had cracked and Budget did tell him as he wrote in his complaint that this was the cause of the engine failure. Our warranty group "Certified Auto Repair" did cover $and as I understand it was paid directly to Budget Transmission. On January 10, we had a visit from the BAR (State of California Bureau of Automotive Repair) concerning this very same issue, The representative who visited us is *** *** -Program Representative ! Field Operations and Enforcement Division. We had all supporting documentation and he had all information from Budget Transmission and a similar complaint from Mr ***. We supplied him with copies invoices and notes regarding repairs. I did receive a call from Mr*** yesterday morning January telling me the case/complaint was closed and in our favorIf you would like to contact Mr *** his number in***, email ***@dca.ca.gov As far as your previous communication, none was received in our office Sincerely, *** *** Shop Manager
