Unfair business practice! Charged 100 dollars an hour for drive time without notification! There was no communication between business and customer of this charge. I’ve frequently paid a truck charge but never a fee for drive time. If they want to practice this sort of tactic, it should be communicated clearly with the customer knowing that this is a part of the final invoice. Very displeased with this experience.
The customer is referring to drive time that was included in the job. Our tech had to drive to a supply house that was over 30 minutes away from the customer's location to purchase very specific materials for the customer due to it being an older home. There was no "fee" that they are stating. The travel time to and from the customer's location for the materials for their home is considered labor. The only way to avoid that travel time was for the customer to pick the parts up themselves or to have them delivered to their home. The fact is the travel/drive time is a given and has always been included as labor. We have to pay a tech their hourly wage so we can not pick up parts for free. The customer did not question anything at the time of completion of the job or even when paying for the work, but went on social media and Google later that evening to blast our company over this issue. We were notified by several other customers that have used our company for years when they saw her post(s). We contacted the customer and offered to work something out but she continued to post negative reviews as well as submitting this to the Revdex.com. We offered to credit her 1.25 hours of labor ($125.00) which she refused and stated at that point that she would report us to the Revdex.com. We received an email from her later that evening stating that she thought about the issue and decided she would take a credit of $200.00. The entire invoice was $424.27. With the credit that she is requesting, it would not be enough to cover our cost for the work performed.
Will never use again. I would have given them NO STARS if that was an option.
- Contacted them in JULY 2018 to fix 2 shower diverters and a dripping kitchen faucet.
- 4 times I left early from work to meet them. 3 times they called with other emergencies and couldn't get to me; and 1 time I had to call them to see if they were going to show....and they weren't ..... another emergency.
- Finally in SEPTEMBER they came out and fixed the kitchen faucet, and rebuilt one of the diverters. The other tub required a new handle. AT A COST OF $243.15
- After several more phone calls, finally in OCTOBER they came back with the $2.99 plastic tub handle. It took the repair man about 20 minutes to install the plastic tub handle.
- AT A COST OF $102.81.
I have been calling their office for an explanation of how after all that time, and all the days I took time off from work to meet them and they didn't show up, they can bill me $102.81 for 15 minutes of a tech's time and a plastic tub handle.
OF COURSE I GET NO RESPONSE.
