Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/10/04) */ To whom it may concern: I am responding to a complaint that was placed about the services I providedAs I read the the complaint I was shocked that she is asking for a full refund of all the separate services that I provided because I thought there was only one issue, which is the aggregate step that I brokeYes, I broke it and take full responsibility for that and have been trying to find an expert that works with aggregate to make the repairBefore I address anything else let me explain that she wanted me to repair the wood supports on a stair case and in order to do so I had to remove the whole step and in doing so a piece of the aggregate chipped off and brokeI under no circumstances was going to leave it like thatI was however already committed to leave out of state to help family member out for a couple of weeks so I asked her if I could find someone to repair it once I returned to FresnoShe agreed and I temperately glued the broken piece on for the time being until I could get someone to repair itYes, it looked awful but it was temporaryI was in Arizona for about weeks when I got the first message complaining that I needed to make the repairs immediately before she reported meI reminded her that I was in Arizona and told her I would be back in two weeks and that I would contact her as soon as I got backExactly two weeks later, the night I returned back to California she notified me that she was going ahead with the complaints and wanted a refundI told her I had literally just returned and that I was making calls trying to find an expert in aggregate to make repairsI called every flooring place listed and was only able to find three that work with aggregate but only two have returned my callsOne was able to go out and take a look at the step but his first available appointment was a week later so I let [redacted] know it would be the following week (at this point she had already made complaints)A man went out to look at the step the following week and said it was an easy repair however she came out and started talking to him and stated that she no longer wanted to make the repair but instead she wanted the whole step completely replacedHe said that wasn't necessary because they could fix it one of two different ways but yet she insisted and started complaining about other issues with the stepsI told him to go ahead and give me a quote for the whole step and he said he would give me call with that price after talking to his bossLater that day he called to inform me that although it would have been an easy fix they didn't want to het involved with her because it was easy to see that could be problematic and they decided it was easier to not get involved with the repairI made another call and the second flooring company was supposed to go take a look at the step this weekend and get back to me Monday (tomorrow)It was never my intention to leave her step broken, it was just bad timing with me leaving and has been extremely difficult to find people that work with aggregateAs far as the other work goesI wasn't aware that she had an issue with the balcony until now but we speciafially communicated with each other before I stared that my work was only a temporary fix because all of her wood was and is rotten and needs to be completely removedNothing I did was a permeant fix and she told me that it looked great and was happy with the temporary work on the balconyI thought we were good and she was satisfied because that is what she told me when I finishedFurthermore I did some minor repairs that I didn't charge her forIt is unfortunate that things have escalated to this point and I feel bad about the situationI hope we are able to resolve this and both walk away happy Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/10/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
