I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business owner's assertion that they were never contacted that the ice maker was not working is not true. Their office was contacted repeatedly by my wife and me immediately after the replacement unit failed. Several appointments were scheduled that they failed to keep. Shortly after this I suffered an accident which resulted in surgery for a knee replacement. Following up further on this complaint temporarily took a back seat to my rehab. The business has stated that they will contact me to set up an appointment to re-check the unit. We spoke earlier today and they are to call me back and tell me what day next week they can come. Until they come and complete their repair properly this complaint will be considered to be "NOT RESOLVED".When the replacement unit is working properly the status of the complaint will be changed to "Resolved".[redacted]

Further to our response to this complaint of May **, 2016, we returned to the customer's home to check the unit once again and made the necessary adjustments. We followed up with the customer on Thursday, May [redacted] and were advised that there was some activity with the ice maker. We followed up again today, May [redacted] and were advised by [redacted] that the icemaker is working fine and appreciated our following up. Thank you. Jimmy's Range & Appliances

Review: I found Jimmy's Range from [redacted] as authorize repair servicer. They dispatch a guy to my house to diagnose the issue. He looked around and said these are the parts I need but he doesn't know the exact model number and will need to get back to me with the correct model number. He collected a check of $150 and left. A week past, no phone call or email. I called up JimmyRange and ask them what is the situation, the reception said they are not able to locate the model number and therefore cannot provide any more assistance. I tried to reach out to their supervisor or owner numerous times and each time I left them my contact number but gotten no reply.Desired Settlement: Refund the amount of $150 because no repair work was performed.

Response:

We went to the customer's home to diagnose his built-in BBQ. The tech saw what parts were needed. Unfortunately, there were no model or serial number tags anywhere on the unit. The parts department attempted to do some research to locate the parts needed. We searched all possible venues, but there were too many different varieties to choose from. We were unable to locate the correct parts without a model or serial number. The customer was told several times to try and get us the model/serial number. The customer also never registered the unit with the manufacturer so we were unable to get any assistance from them. The customer paid the non-refundable service charge of $125.00 (not for $150 as stated by the customer) on 6/** for us to come to his home and evaluate his unit. The check was #[redacted]. There was really nothing else we could do to find the correct parts.

Review: Had a stove that didn't work properly and called Jimmy's. After an $81 consultation, repairman said problem was related to parts. Agreed to have him come back with parts and he did. No change to problem. Customer service now saying they will charge another $75 to come out and look at the problem again. From other reviews (at [redacted], for example), this appears to be their normal operating procedure.

Repairman did not leave parts and am increasingly sure that no repair was actually done. I believe that this is a systematic scam.Desired Settlement: Would like a full refund - $372.98.

Business

Response:

A service manager was sent back to evaluate the appliance at no charge. We had told the customer if there was a seperate issue from the previous service there would be a charge. He found the front left burner head out of alignment. He re-alligned the burner head & adjusted the pressure on the spreader plate. He operated oven for 1/2 hour with no issues observed. We also checked the bake function at 350 degrees for 25 minutes & the broil function for 20 minutes. Both were working properly. We told customer to call our office if the problems re-occur. We also recommended the customer download the owners manual. The customer observed our repairs and signed our invoice. The issue is resolved and no refund is necessary.
