Review: My Maytag dishwasher does not clean the dishes and glassware properly leaving a film on glassware and dishes. I pointed this out to the service provider also noting a black staining of a rubber gasket at the bottom of dishwasher; He came to my house Thursday Oct.3 13. With a container of lemon salt. I should put into the washer during the cycle wash which he did in his test. He also advised me to not use the dishwasher brand I was using, Cascade Complete saying other forms of the product is ok. when his test cycle finished the dishes and glasses looked worse He attempted to wipe one of glasses clean which failed. I ONCE AGAIN TRIED TO POINT OUT THE STAIN AROUND THE GASKET. He said there is no gasket that it was a heater unit,which is well above the gasket. He said if I follow his instructions Things would work out. I got the checkbook to pay I asked him, who to make it payable to, not knowing what the charge was, he said give it here I`ll do it. He completed the check including the charge 95.40Desired Settlement: full refund less 20$ for his gas and time.

I am writing to you in reference to complaint ID [redacted], [redacted].

Our response: We are very sorry [redacted]. [redacted] was unhappy with our service. Most of what she says is correct, except that I not only checked out her dishwasher, I also unjammed her garbage disposal.

While [redacted] was in the other room, her husband pointed out to me that her garbage disposal was inoperable for several months at which time I proceeded to check it out. I found a restriction and removed the restriction, which restored the disposal to full operation, (see copy of invoice attached) She totally omitted this in her complaint.

When we conversed the next day she brought up the discoloration of the pump to tub gasket. I told her it was quite common to ripple and discolor; however, it will not affect operation of the dishwasher. It certainly is not worth the time and money to change the gasket since its primary function is to keep water from leaking which her dishwasher did not do.

The charges she should have received were as follows: $50.00 service call and a $50.00 flat rate repair, which I charged for the garbage disposal not the dishwasher. However we voluntarily offered a $10.00 discount for senior citizens so the bill came to $90.00 plus sales tax of $5.40, instead of the normal fee of $100.00 plus sales tax of $6.00. Normally when a second appliance is serviced on the same visit, there would have been a $30.00 additional fee for the second appliance.

The reason that I offered to fill out the check was to expedite time as it was going to take her awhile to fill out the check due to her advanced age. The amount had been disclosed to her many times before the check was filled out and the customer signed the check.

I am rejecting this response because: **. [redacted] never mentioned anything about a senior discount and it is not true that he told us many times the charge would be $90.00 plus tax. We found out when he wrote the check., also the reason for him to write the check is ludicrous, as for removing a restriction on the disposer he pressed a button on the bottom of the disposer. which restored the power. the fact remains my dishwasher has the same problem the dishes have a film on them and the gasket is the reason! I run my finger along the gasket. and get a black residue. The bill he left with me differs from the one he sent to you
