Southwestern Advantage has changed my lifeThrough working with this college internship during my sophomore and junior year at Texas A&M, I received great mentor-ship from both my managers and peers that has empowered me to improve my confidence in myself, my conviction in my own abilities, my ability to concentrate focus on school, and my consistency in my relationships with both friends and familyThis experience has given me both life long friends and had a positive life long impact on my future

Yesterday I had one of Southwestern's sales representatives come to my door Rang my doorbell, then continued to knock on my door until I answered I very politely pointed to my No Soliciting sign I have on my door City ordinance in my city is that if I have this notification on my door any accredited company (which Southwestern is) is to comply with this sign and not contact me When I pointed this out to the salesman he said he wasn't from the United States and did not know what this means I explained it to him at which point he tried to sell me books anyway This is not my first rodeo I wished him a good day and shut the door I know these young people have to go through orientation Do not teach them how to skirt the law by feigning ignorance I have reported this to the local authorities so they are aware of what your salesmen are doing Do you think I will ever purchase from your company? Not with business practices like yours

My family and I are very pleased with the books we purchased! They are terrific references for the entire family for years to comeShane was professional and enjoyableHe took the time show us how to navigate the online subscription as well

Two salesman came to my home after 9:pmThis is unacceptableWhile they were friendly, they told me they would not be coming back to my home and if I wanted to buy, now was the timeThis was too pushy and deceitful as I saw they had visited some of my neighbors earlier in the day at a more reasonable timeAnd then I saw them today when they were trying to sell to my next-door neighborThey were polite and said hi but did not try to sellThe whole thing seemed fishyI know they are students working hard to help pay for school but knocking on my door so late at night is unacceptable business practice

Terrible companyNever received books, but they sure did try to deduct out of my account times this past monthIM NOT PAYING FOR NOTHING!!! Dont come to my house again!! Take me off your stupid listThank you

I am rather bothered by how this company does businessI had a sales rep come to my doorAs soon as I opened the door he said " I assume you are the mother" no hello nothing......First off that is a red flag, how do you know I have children? I am already wondering what is going on and on the defense Then he procedes to tell me he is a college student and he has to visit house for a class.....Im thinking okay, ill hear him out for a minute because I've been a student myselfHe continues to talk and says now how old are your children.....Again I am back on the defenseWhy are you asking about my childrenHe wanted to know their ages, what grade of school they were in ectYou can not go up to a single mothers door and start questioning about her two girls! I was very vague in my answers while he kept fishing for information about usI finally stopped him and asked what his point was and what he was trying to accomplish hereI had dinner on the stove and was feeling really uneasyAt this time he asked to come in and show me his productsThe is a no! I had not seen and ID, didn't know exactly where he was from and didn't know why he was here! He was very muffled with his speech, his appearance was unkept he barely looked me in the eye and didn't let out a smile at all Not someone I would let in my houseSo many things are wrong with this sales tacticI feel this company needs to revisit the training given to sales reps to fit todays changing society! People don't want to feel unsafe and it is wrong to keep justifying reasons why your sales reps continue with these invasive tacticsI have read many of your complaints and reviews from the past few years and it seems that nothing is going to change how you do business, which is sadSeems like you are using college students to try and con people out of their money

I am very pleased with the booksIt's easy to understand and readThe books are great for any grade level according to the need of the child/childrenThe payments were easy and affordableThe representative was organized and knowable of the products being sold

I loved this company! They did an amazing job with there books that I had purchased and a special person working for this company was just amazing! I originally purchased these books for my kids years ago and now am buying them for my grand childrenBoth of my kids went on to college and my oldest has graduated with degrees from the one of the best college's in the country These books along with many other things have made the girls more confident and assisted them with their studiesI highly recommend the product and the comany

I'm not very fond of people coming door to door selling items, and in this instance I was fooled againI'm sure the books themselves are extremely usefulBut after we waited weeks for the sales lady to come and show us how to use them, which was promised PRIOR to me buying them; we realized she wasn't coming and tried to get a refundOf course, they only allow days to return their itemsTHIS IS RIDICULOUS! How can you expect people to know if they like your product enough when your salespeople don't even keep their appointments to show you and your children how to use their productI will never tell anyone to spend hundreds of dollars on these books

I have twice had interaction with Southwestern Advantage student salespeople although I have not bought their productIn both instances, the students were pushyI work frequently with international students in my job and am aware that some of them would go to great lengths to be able to earn money in the USMy concern is that the young people working for Southwestern Advantage may be exploited in a way that leads to their pushinessIf it hasn't already, I wish the Revdex.com would investigate the recruitment and hiring practices of this company, look into what the students are promised and what their actual work conditions turn out to be, and double check that the company is above board in securing work permits and visas for these young people so that their future is not compromisedThe product the company offers does not impress me (I am an educator), and my sense is that the company teaches its salespeople to prey on people's concern for their children's futureBut whatever I think of the product, I also wonder if the company preys on the vulnerability of the young people working for itI want to see young people have opportunities for work and travel around the worldHowever, I don't want young people to be exploited, and I don't think it serves any purpose for them to be taught to use exploitative tactics in their workI have read through the company's Q&A, and nothing reassures me, including a 30% drop-out rate and the note that success depends on how hard the student worksThe web site suggests that students work 12-hours/day for days/weekI hold to hard work, but I also hold to fair earnings within a 40-hour work weekThere are labor laws in the US for a reasonI only hope my suspicions of exploitative practices are unfounded!

Is a shame this company 1.- I found that you can return the books ONLY in days!!!! "Is policy of the company they told me"by the phone days!! He never told it to my wife I never open the books and try to return them before days 2.-.the salesman didn't provide me the number of the company when I asked for it and when I tried to stop monthly payments ...THE SALESMAN t told me...JUST give it a try ...and didn't provide information to stop the payments! This was very poor work ethics ethics and I am not a happy camper

What an amazing company from the top leadership to the students that participate in the programFrom first hand experience I have seen incredible people made in this programI definitely recommend this company and purchasing their products

This is my second time purchasing books from this companyDuring this last encounter I purchased the bible books and I LOVE THEMThey have been fantasticI read to my year old daughter ever night from these books and it's easy enough that she can understandI also take it to church and read them to the older kids and they enjoy itThey have great -did you know sections in ever chapter that are fun and interesting for the kidsIt allows you to understand the tools the people used and how they built buildings and really it breaks information down so you can understand easierSo happy with my purchase !!!

I am so very thrilled with our experience with Southwestern AdvantageFrom introduction to enjoying our books daily, it has been a blessing to our livesOur sales representative was sweet, kind, and genuineAn extremely positive face for your company! I loved having payment options that we could work with, and our books came right on timeWe got the Bible story set and they are beautifully done--fascinating for the whole familyThank you so much for enriching our lives!

Love the company and the level of effort they put into ethics and teaching that to the studentsWith 1500-students selling door2door, it is unavoidable that things do go wrong but overall I love the way they handle business Have had great experience with them so far!

I, for one, would never buy from this companyThe company has no morals or business ethics and therefore cannot teach either of those to its student interns who are pushy and arrogantListen to this story! Salesman stops at my house on July18, This is a Satirday and when he stops by it is within hours of us finding out about the tragic death of my year old nieceI am not at home but my wife isShe immediately tells him after his initial introduction of our current situationHe continues to try and sell his productNow, in my belief, is the time to bow out gracefully and say, "I am sorry for your lossI have obviously caught you at an extremely bad timeI will try and come back at a time that is more appropriate."But no! He continues and somehow gets my wife to reluctantly give her our debit card info so he can leave of the books so she can discuss it with me Also tells her she has days to cancel with no obligationNow we have two children, work, and also now have to deal with a family crisis with death of a very close family memberFuneral proceedings, work, bereavement time, tons of family and friends stopping by with their cindolences and just to be their in a time of needWho is thinking about books? Of course the days passed and we forgot about itThe books have never been touchedWe call about days later after remembering and was basically told sorry you went passed the days and you are stuck with the books and out of $$for the same books I could have bought online for a fourth of the costSalesman comes back to deliver the other two books and will not budge off the day ruleGot his supervisor name and called herHer response was basically the sameHe name was Yvette by the wayAn associate of Southwestern Advantage of yearsObviously he lack of backbone, morals, integrity, and business ethics has rubbed off on her young salesman because he exhibited the same exact positionSo....now I am stuck with $paper weights that have absolutely no value whatsoever to meMoral of this story is: if you have a shred of doubt about the purchase of this company's productDo not entertain the offer and send that salesman packing quicklyAs pushy as they are this may require holding a gun pointed at them and telling them they have until the count of three to leaveAt no point in the future will I have anything to do with this companyAnd...for the next time a Southwestern Advantage associate shows up at my door to sell this product they will definitely not like meI may even call the law and tell them someone is trying to rob me because that is exactly what they are trying to doDid I have a negative experienceWhy yes I did and that is putting it very mildly

My husband was working in the garage with the salesgirl came to the houseFrom the way she talked he assumed I was expecting her to visitShe came in and started telling me she was there to review some early childhood informationI then asked who she was to which she responded "What, you don't know me? You haven't see me on [redacted] "I was never provided a good explanation of what she was doing in my home or who she worked forShe just kept saying she wanted to review some material with meI told her I wasn't interestedShe then pulled out a form with personal information including children's names and ages of those in townThis is a huge problem for meI would not want anyone sharing information about my family or my children with others I do not knowI again told her I wasn't interested and asked her to leaveVery odd and unsettling experience at 8pm at night

Our salesman, Alex V [redacted] t, was charming and politeHe respected my husband when he said he needed to delay the decision until we could discuss the purchase together, and arranged to come back a different dayHe was friendly and patient when I asked him to show my elementary student the material, so I could get authentic feedback on the productHe wasn't pushy, but he was straightforward in asking for the saleI think some of the negative complaints on this site may simply be a result of people being unfamiliar/uncomfortable with direct sales or the inexperienced techniques used by some other salespeopleOur experience was positive, and we purchased our set to use for a donation to our local schoolQuality product, moderate pricing
