Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: the contractor didn't answer any of my concerns Read closely My complaint was two things The camera was making clicking sounds and distorting the video at night when the night light was off that the contractor didn't respond to I said nothing about wanting a more expensive camera No The DVR I complained about was cutting out on motion I complained several times about this and no response from the contractor and still no response If the components have only a day warranty then this is an extremely bad warranty Where is the warranty? I only had the camera about days and before I got these clicking sounds distorting the video and I've only had the DVR since December.Sincerely, [redacted]

I would like this company to provide me a copy of the day warranty, and to send me the brand name and manufacture information for the camera

08/03/I just reviewed the VM you left a few days agoThe best time to reach me is between and Nothing has changed since my last correspondence to the Revdex.com and I have not heard anything from the business. One of my bigger issues is their warranty period of days on the camera and DVREvery other place I've looked into offers a one year warranty.08/04/I still have problems with the camera and DVRFor the camera, after the one I bought, they provided another which was better, but, still didn't do what I wantedSo in February I paid more for a new high intensity cameraIt had a better sweep but less detail than the previous one; it wasn't really that much of an improvement but I kept itThen two months later, April, the videos started distorting (they would get dark, then too light [almost reddish sometimes] and go back and forth from too dark to too lightI also noticed the camera making clicking sounds and I feel the black and white distortions correspond to when these clicking noises occur(I don't know why, but when I turn on my night light that is close to the camera, it does not click) So I believe these are warranty matters, but, they claim I only have a day warranty, whereas almost everything I've seen about electronics gets a one year warranty The DVR still cuts off in the middle of a recordingIt will pick up motion for awhile, then stops and restarts and misses what's going on. For example, I got a recording of someone picking up a stick and could see which neighbor it wasThe next thing the DVR has is the stick on my car and it totally missed what happened between him picking up the stick and it ending up on my carThe only thing they have done to address this DVR problem is to change the interval so there would only be a few seconds lapse I don't think they know what they are doingLast time they were here, they ran a wire between my modem and the DVR so the DVR would get internet updatesI looked into this on the internet and got instructions on this and did something called a DNS probeThis showed what they did had not resulted in this feature being connected - they just ran the wire without verifying it was connected properlyTheir replies do not address my issues that these products do not accomplish what I was promised they would and there should be more than a day warranty08/04/2017Thank you, Daniel, for discussing this matter with
me todayI was able to speak with Jason at the business after we got
off the phonePlease review the following suggestions which he made
(you might have already been down some of these paths before with them)
and let me know what you think. He believes that your
concerns with the DVR can be solved by putting it on "hour Recording
with Event" (he does not think any outdoor system could accomplish your
desire of only picking up motion, getting perfect pictures, and not
stopping intermittently sometimes during recording)He says the
homeowner utilizing the "hour recording with event" can review a
hour period in fast forward in minutes and color indicators appear
that warn motion was detected. It is his opinion the camera
is a good one and the problems with the variance in the color is due to
the different lights in the vicinity of the camera and their
reflections (he mentioned something about some lights on posts, at least
on the right side). To resolve the color variance from too dark, too
light, he recommends the camera be moved to where it doesn't get motion
from things like tree limbs swaying, or, if left where it is, box around
it some so it picks up less of the light from other sources(I did not
ask him yet if he would do these things for no charge)I hope to
discuss with him the first of next week the clicking noise on the
camera. I realize you might have been down this path before
with him on some of the above, but, I have related to both of you the
current position of the other and I'm trying to determine if there is
some common ground that can initially be established that would allow
us to go forward in determining if we can reach a resolution. I will be here next week M-F from 10:to 2:if you would like to call, or, feel free to respond by email08/07/2017Daniel,I called the Business back this morning to
also discuss your concern about the clicking noise the camera makes
They told me that the camera does that when it goes back and forth from
sensing darkness or daylightThey say the camera does this because of
the reflections from lights in the vicinity causing the camera at night
to sense daylight when these reflections get in the area it is
recordingThey say the camera is doing what it senses and therefore the
clicking noise is not a defect. Wanted to also pass along to you their
position on this concern which you also haveThank youDenny,
Sorry, what he said is untrue about the camera making clicking
noises Like I said before the clicking noises cause the "VIDEO TO BE
DISTORTED." The clicking noises, actually, it's every less than a
second causes the video to go from blackish, to whitish back to grayish
and then back to blackish synchronous with the clicking noises And like I said before it only does this at night when the night light is off
When the night light is on it's OK I talked to somebody since, a
tech at Sam's, and he thinks the aperture is not opening when there is
no light outside, a devise of some kind in the camera is not making the
aperture larger causing clicking noises This tech said warranty's are
usually days to year and all sellers on ebay and Amazon have yr
So this day warranty Jason says it has appears to be untrue Also , this camera did not do this for the first two months - no problem - so it shouldn't be doing this Other tech says recorder should NOT STOP RECORDING WHEN THERE IS STILL MOTION WHAT JASON SAYS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE
Finally, why doesn't he come out and see himself instead of
hypothesizing and guessing what's going on??? He just doesn't want to
do anything is why he says everything is just fine and only a day
warranty.
And finally, since talking with you it's almost
dysfunctional now anyway There is almost no light coming into the DVR
now since July I noticed after talking to you The videos look like
way underexposed pictures if you can picture what I'm talking about
Also, The DVR is recording about hours ahead of time since July
What I mean it's recording on the 8th of August, today is the 7th
Maybe this is an easy fix by adjusting the system time But the bad
video since July may have been caused by lightening, I don't know.Dan08/Email to Daniel from MIs it possible lightning struck close to the camera on July or a day close to it? Is everything still underexposed? Does leaving the night light on correct that? This
is somewhat of a "chicken or the egg" dilemma about the clickingYou
believe the clicking is a defect and is causing the distortionThis is
supported by there not being any clicking noises the first two months
and, I'm assuming, no distortion problems thenThey say the clicking is
caused by fluctuations in lighting and is the sound of the camera
adjusting to the available lightThis is supported by no distortions
when you leave the night light onI will take this up with them soon
and ask some more questions about the warranty that was provided. [Email to M from C] Right, the camera was OK the first two months whether the night light was on or off - NO CLICKING!
Then when the night light was not on I would get shimmering video
but when night light was turned on the shimmering stopped I went
outside when there was shimmering and heard clicking noises coming from
the camera in synchronous with the video distortion going from different
shades of black, gray, and white And I should add when the night
light is off the video clips go very long up to an hour long before
another clip starts The clips are normally only a couple to a few
minutes long They are just giving you a bunch of bull When the
distortions go on for an hour at a time this is not adjusting to
availablelight. This is unable to adjust to available light One tech thought a
device in the camera was unable to open the aperture when night light
off causing non-stop clicking all night long when the night light is
off. Does this sound like it is just adjusting to the light that they say?
Yes, why do they say only day warrantyEverybody else say year
Everything is still underexposed since July the night light doesn't
correct it because everything is underexposed in the daytime as well,
very dark and blurry I don't know if it was lightning.08/12/email from C to M: Denny,
here's a message from the manufacturer of this DVR As you can see
there is a one year warranty!!! Jason is just trying to pull the wool
over your eyes Hi Daniel, We are DVR manufacturer in Shenzhen city , ChinaFor our team, we are willing to offer 100% unconditional money-back guarantee within one month,
one year warranty and lifetime free software and technical support for
customer dissatisfactionPlease be assured that we always stand behind
our products08/17/2017 Hi, Daniel, I just spoke with the business,
chiefly about whether the camera is defective or not, possible aperture
opening problems, and why such a limited warranty of days. It turns
out that the day warranty is the replacement warranty offered by J&J for the first days BUT the manufacturer still provides a one year warranty!
The business said that you could ship it to a warranty center and they
would do a diagnostic; you would be out the shipping charges to and from
the warranty place (not sure the size and weight of the camera - the
business guessed $each time, but, that could be low)Your manual
and other papers ( or perhaps internet) should let you know where the
closest warranty center is. When you get a chance, let me know your thoughts about thisThank you 08/21/Now he tells you there is a manufacturer warranty That's
what I was trying to say all along But I have no manual or papers
because J&J didn't provide any This is the first time J&J
indicated there was a yr warranty But what about below about the DVR
you didn't address? I'm not even sure if this is correct because I
noticed on EBAY third parties provide warranty for $
See the email from the manufacturer below I have no papers on this You and he still didn't address about the constant clicking noises
of the camera causing shimmering video when the night light it out
Does now he say there is a problem with the camera? He
was trying to say clicking is but just cherry picked and you
and he disregarded the constant clicking and shimmering video caused by
the clicking
I need to add that I have no paperwork for the camera J&J is the buyer of the camera and he would have to contact the manufacturer The warranty center has no record of a purchase from meJ&J is not very nice when the camera started being defective after only months.08/22/2017 I will send it back, but, all I have is a cancelled check showing the day I bought itI don't have a manual, an invoice copy or other things the warranty center might need for verification (M told him would call B and see what can get)09/07/Hi, Daniel, Attached is the warranty information which J&J provided me They also told me there are two things you could try which might be of help:
Put some cardboard around part of the camera which would cut down on
some of the lighting changes/reflections from other lights, and
inconsequential movements (such as tree limbs blowing in the wind)This
would, however, narrow the viewing angle. Bring the camera inside and test it in a dark room and see if the night vision doesn't stay on.Hope
this is of some assistanceFeel free to contact me about whether or
not you will try any of this and/or send the camera to a warranty center
for testing.Thank you09/20/Thanks for calling me for an updateI've been finding out things about these camerasI have installed a new one, which works, but more light needs to be shown and the color needs to be improvedI took this new camera and the one I bought from J&J to DK's Stuff in south county to have them checked outThey told me there is nothing wrong with the camera I bought from J&J and the new one might just need a stronger power sourceSomeone is supposed to be here within a few days to look at this new oneI should be getting back with you in a week or two and letting you know the outcome.09/25/email from consumerDenny,
I'm responding to you now because I was waiting for some more answers before I responded as I said on the phone to you
As it turned I would have kept giving you new updatesI have now at least an answer close to the final answer.I had a contractor come back out Thursday to make corrections as I talked to a camera shop DKstuff in South County two weeks ago Wednesday and he said the original camera was good and the new camera the contractor put up needed adjustingHe thought maybe thepower supply/cable connections were bad for the original camera
from J&J. The contractor reinstalled the J&J camera and
suddenly I had good video but don't know why it started working just by
reinstalling. Maybe clips were loose as shop said?So the camera was good. But I didn't know the continuous clicking
noises at night were still there when the night light was out.The clicking noises seem to be gone too with the shaking video.
But a problem now is when the night light is out I have grainy video.and the video clips are too long. So as you can see progress has
been made but still have small problem now. And I think the motion
detect is not working right as most are short clips under seconds So as you can see the suggestions by J&J were no good. The shop put the camera on his monitor and knew the camera was OK.But he was wrong about the power supply but he made no guarantee about thisIt still could be loose clips but don't know whythey would be loose all of a sudden on July. Why didn't J&J come out and check like the other contractor and
stop playing guessing games. Didn't J&J know about a shop that
could test the camera? These contractors don't seem to know much about
fixing problems, they are just installers. And J&J doesn't provide
follor support
J&J said the camera was a SONY Star something but shop couldn't confirm this. J&J has been of no help at all. So I did this on my own with another contractor and a shop and J&J was zero help.
Dan Ludden09/26/2017 When I keep the night light on, things work betterWhen off, grainy and video lengths are differentAt least the clicking stopped and the shimmeringStrange seems to have improved just by taking it back down and putting upMaybe it's the clipsPerhaps the thunderstorm in late July did this. Well, you can tell J&J I found out the camera is good but still does not do all I wanted but things are betterI understand they told you they will not come to my place again and do anything (this other camera company is good about that)Thanks for explaining what happens when a complaint is closedSince they have told you they will not come to my premises, I understand this will be closedo.kthank you

The customer is wanting to see someone throwing sticks and is not willing to pay for a high intensity cameraWe have got him the best one for his current system and he is still not happyWe have done everything we can think of to compromise with the customer, but without the funds for a high
intensity camera this is what he can getI have attached the documentation for all our correspondence and the order for the system he hasIt shows a 30-day warranty on all components of the system and we guarantee the wiring of the system for yearThe customer has changed settings on the DVR multiple times which we have fixedI have been out for free and replaced cameras at our cost trying to satisfy the customer, but he is wanting a system that we can’t provide for the price he is willing to pay purchased this item on December 19, HISVISION 4CH 1080N Hybrid 5-in-AHD DVR (1080P NVR+1080N AHD+960H Analog+TVI+CVI) CCTV Quick QR Code Scan/ Easy Remote View /Motion Detection Email Alerts Home Security Surveillance day warranty and Lifetime Support purchased this item on February 15, 101AV Security Dome Camera 1080P True FuIN 1(TVI, AHD, CVI, CVBS) 2.8-12mm Variable Focus Lens SONY 2.4Megapixel STARVIS Image Sensor IR In/Outdoor WDR OSD Camera day warranty 12/15/to me can I get the camera to work better at night? My red car barely shows up and not much else. I thought these were supposed to work at night. I was going to ask you about it when you were here 12/16/16to *** we can get you a better camera but it is a dome and it will have to go on your eave above where the camera is now or under the one you have now also the only color we have in it is black if you want this one just let us know and we with set up an appointment to swap the camera out 12/17/to me I've seen others in stores that say night vision but if they are like one this they aren't very good. It's not much of a security camera if it doesn't work at night. It doesn't show the blue car at all even though my neighbors have night lights that reflect off the car. How good is the dome camera and how much more? 12/19/to *** We wI'll be in your area on Thursday we have a new system for you just let us know if this will be with you 12/25/to me The camera is recording every minute. I think it needs to be adjusted to start recording only on larger objects. I think it's picking up on the tree branches that are always moving a little bit. It picked up this guy throwing large branches towards my car with some landing under it. They are thrown so hard you know some are ending up under my car. When I was gone he threw one large 8' branch that landed in the middle of my parking space along with some asphalt chunks. He reported to police with his daughter that I do this and they don't throw any branches. The video indicates they are lying. The police are also lying because they state I admitted to this which I did not. How could I if he's doing it? He's trying to bully me and I think you see that. I just put them on the big rocks and he goes out every time and throws them on the grass and at my car So the video is going to prove them all liars. Unbelieveable! Feb to me Jason, this camera cuts of the video in the middle of the motion and then starts another one. Sometimes it cuts off before the motion is completed. So far it hasn't been a problem but it could be. When it cuts off and starts another video I have to backup two videos to get the whole scene and it's not as good. It records way too often even when the lowest sensitivity. It records very minute when there is nothing and I have to go through many clips to get the one I want. It still is not good at nightThis it is throwing big sticks under my car but it's too dark to see the sticks go under. I said I wanted a camera to see at night. This one is better and Jason said I can get one to light up at night but will cost more. OK I will pay to get a better one to *** we can get a new camera installed this is the best camera for the DVR you have, If you would like to get it let us know and we can set up a time to install it for you. Ty hope to hear from you on this matter Feb to me how good is it at night? can you get the DVR to record less often? And it seems to record without any regard to activity outside And it stops in the middle of motion continuing the motion on the next clip So I have to combine the two clips to get the one continuous motion Feb to *** it is the best camera for night and day for that DVR as far as the recording there are options we can set a grid on it so it wont pick up the trees when they move or we can have it record at all times that is up to you but if we set a grid then any movement out side of the grid will not be picked up we can also see about extending the motion record time if it is possible on that DVR Just let us know if you want the camera and we can get you a time to install it after that Feb to me OK, but I don't think the DVR is working right. I have a perfect example. It just seems to record every or two minutes whether there is any motion or not. Yesterday a person was walking down the street and then disappeared because the DVR stopped recording. A stick at about same time on a rock was there about 4PM and then I don't know where it went because the DVR didn't pick it up. Somebody had to move it. The DVR started up again two minutes later! I copied down the times and you can see for yourself. I looked thru the manual and I don't see anything on this. A couple of weeks ago the man came charging out and then the DVR quit and started a new clip that showed the end of the scene. At least it picked up the whole scene but I have two video clips but there should be only one. You have to run them together to see the whole event, Feb to *** Okay we can extend the record time and are you are wanting that camera? Feb to *** Contractor just came over and we saw that the tour mode was disabled. The interval delay was seconds and he changed it to seconds so there is no delay. But it's still recording almost every minute. Could it be that it does this because there are many skinny branches on a tree a few feet in front of the camera and any slight move starts the DVR to record? Even with the lowest possible sensitivity setting? He states that the DVR can stop recording even in the middle of the motion but the next clip will pick up where the previous clip left off but with the o me How does the software get downloaded? The manufacturer gave me a link to download from but that's not being used, correct? Is something in the DVR letting the software download automatically? Feb to *** Yes now that it is hooked to the internet it will automatically

08/04/Please contact me, Jason, about this and not JamesMy number is 314-243-We've done a lot of extra work trying to please this guy. Sometimes, he tampered/changed settings on his own that caused problemsNo DVR can do everything he wants doneHe wants it to only record on motion and that won't work perfectlyWe told him to put the DVR on "hour recording with event." Then you can review a certain time period and will notice a small color indicator on the tape to indicate there was motion thenOn fast forward, most people can probably review hours in minutes and see if motion was detected at some time (mediator had to ask him several times how long this would take to review hours of recording on fast forward before getting the minute estimate)As far as the camera, the problem comes from the different lights around there and light reflecting off and onI think there are some lights around there that are on a lot; seems like there is one on a post on the right side of the cameraHe has a very good cameraTo stop the problem he has, the camera would need to be moved (preferably away from trees) or boxed so it picks up less light.Had I known this guy was so picky with not much else to do but complain, I would have never taken this job08/07/That clicking noise is not due to the camera being defective and we have discussed that with himThat's the sound of the camera switching back and forth from night mode to daytime mode which is caused by the lights around there being reflected to the camera.08/14/2017Hi, Jay,I have had more correspondence with MrLudden. I must admit this clicking noise seems to be a "which came first, the
chicken or the egg" dilemma. You're sure the clicking noise is not a
defect and is the camera adjusting to the light it picks up resulting in
a variance of the lightness/darkness of the recordingThis is
supported by this variance not occurring when he leaves the night light
on On the other hand, the camera did not click for the
first two months and apparently the quality of the recordings was good
Then it all of a sudden started clicking and making bad recordings,
resulting in MrLudden thinking the camera is defective and should be
covered by a warranty. With respect to the warranty, he has
often brought up he only got a day warranty which he believes is way
short of the industry standard and says he has confirmation from the
DVR manufacturer in China that there is a one year warrantyIs a
day warranty in your opinion standard for this camera or was a different
warranty used for some reason? For example, was a manufacturer's
warranty not available for some reason and the day warranty was your
store warranty?08/17/This is James this time and not Jason. About the day warranty, that is our store "replacement" warranty if a customer is not satisfied within the days, we replace. That camera does have a one year manufacturer's warrantyYes, he should be able to send it to them for warranty workHe will probably be out the shipping charges both ways (guessing about $each way)I believe they will tell him the camera is fine and the aperture opens properly. That DVR he has for recording is fine as it is the exact same one I have at home and set up the same way as mineAny camera that is set to come on only when motion is detected is going to have light fluctuations, such as when a tree is in camera range and the wind blows it, there will be a change in lightAlso, any camera set on motion only is going to have to second delays during recording and you miss stuffIs why hour with tics is better. To help his camera pick up better, he'll need to cut down some trees, or put a box around the camera, or move it (but if he does one of these last two, it will cut down the angle of what he wants to pick up and he doesn't want that I don't believe), or try leaving night light on all the time but believe he also does not want to do that.08/22/(w/ Jason)Yes, we can get the documents and info he needs for the warranty centerNo, I don't want to send it back for him as I do not want him in the store. He can actually test some things himself before he sends it back: he can put a piece of cardboard around part of the camera and see if that cuts down on the reflection of other light around there which might be the cause of the problemHe can also take the camera down, bring it inside and keep it in a dark room and see if night vision stays on O.K., I'll email you these instructions for testing so he can see the right steps to takeWe do not want to have any contact from him, so I will email to you the documents he needs to send the camera backMight be a day or two before we can get that to you.08/29/Oh, shootI totally forgot I was going to email to you those instructions for him to try some tests plus warranty infoWe'll get to you tonight I hope.09/06/email to BHi, Jay, Back on August 22, we discussed that you
could provide MrLudden the documents he needed to return the camera
to the warranty centerThen we also discussed there were
things he could try himself to see if they would solve/minimize his
issues (putting cardboard or something around the camera; and bring it
inside and test it in a dark room)Rather than have me try to relay
that to him and lose something in translation, we decided you guys would
email to me the steps he should take to do this testing, plus the
warranty info, and I'll forward to himWe discussed this again by phone
on August Realize you guys are busy with other things, but, please
let me know if you still planning to do this? Thanks09/06/email from businessHe can try to build a box out of cardboard to go around the camera
this will help with the lighting changes and it might also cut down on
some of the movement for the trees if he dose do this it might also cut out some field of view Seller Warranty Descriptiondays money backyear repair warrantyCustomer Service Phone: 408-720-0029camera info: 101AV

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: the contractor didn't answer any of my concerns.  Read closely.  My complaint was two things.  The camera was making clicking sounds and distorting the video at night when the night light was off that the contractor didn't respond to.  I said nothing about wanting a more expensive camera.
No 2.  The DVR I complained about was cutting out on motion.  I complained several times about this and no response from the contractor and still no response.
If the components have only a 30 day warranty then this is an extremely bad warranty.  Where is the warranty?  I only had the camera about 30 days and before I got these clicking sounds distorting the  video  and I've only had the DVR since December.Sincerely,
