I am the owner of JK LandscapeI am responding to this complaint:
The homeowner that we did the work for here had his entire yard ripped up multiple times over the years before we ever started working thereWe simply came in, finished up his
landscaping and installed sod in the entire yardWe were only there for a couple of days to complete the entire project
I think the complaint (person) here is just looking for someone to put the blame on

I think the company owner is leaving out a few detailsThey didn't "simply" come in and finish up the landscaping etcAs you can see from the attached photos, they had several piece of large equipment in the yard - an excavator and bobcatsWhen they were working on the yard, they discovered a large pool of muddy, clay water that had been pooling around the house(zoom in #to see remains of water pooled after draining) They proceeded to install a hose into the pool of dirty water to drain itUnfortunately, without asking for my permission, they put the other end into the drain tile in my dry creek bed(I can provide receipt to prove I paid for the drain tile and dry creek bed - it is not owned or installed by the city) Due to the large amount of water draining, it backed up and created an ugly mess of silt on my landscaping rocks in the dry creek bedThe photos show they equipment, and the remains of the muddy spots after draining the yardIn addition, the company destroyed the city park path that runs along the sides of our houses by running over the path with their equipment for over a week or two with no protection on the path (zoom in photo to see the damage)The path has not been fixed by the contractor to date

I have not received any response from the Jerry, owner of JK Landscaping regarding the site visit he mentioned in his last responseTo date, I haven't even received any acknowledgement or apology for the silt on my rocks
I spoke with the trail maintenance supervisor (Scott ***) at the city of Maple Grove and he said that he had visited the damaged trail on August 28th and spoke to the homeowner who hired the landscaperAccording to Scott, the homeowner will hire a contractor repair the trail
The last communication I received from Jerry, the owner of JK Landscaping, was on August 27th via emailRegarding the trail, Jerry said his site supervisor told him that the city told him not to worry about the trail damage so he considered the trail damage not his concern
It seems the city will require the homeowner to get the trail fixed(Personally I would not be happy if I hired a contractor who did damage and then I was required to pay for the repair)
Attached is the photo I shared with Jerry last week of what my rocks looked like with the clay silt from draining the neighbors yard into my drain tileThis was taken the day I filed the complaintThankfully the months of rain have washed the top of the rocks but the silt is settled within the rocksMy river rocks are usually a combination of white, gray, pink, tan etc

JK Landscape was hired to finish an ongoing landscape project that was started by the homeowner (Jeff ***) many years ago*** lives directly behind ***
My employees were excavating for a paver patio when they found water trapped in the foundation of ***'s house due to poor drainage etc*** directed my employees to pump this water to a certain area of the yard (which they did)This is not an everyday occurrence for us to hit water doing these projects (it does happen, but not very often)At this point they were under the direction of Mr*** to solve this issue with minimal additional expense to himself
*** had apparently drained water to this area many times in the past as well because *** admitted in earlier complaints that she had a lot of runoff/silting etcin her rocks
Also, to mentionThe pump that my employees were using cannot pump mud/debris etcThe water they were pumping was very clean and was not full of dirt etc
I have tried to contact *** by telephone many many times and she would not call back to discuss this matter with me directlyShe chose to accuse us of doing wrong just over emails
Clearly this is not an issue for JK Landscape to be involved in anymoreThis is between *** and *** to get this matter resolved

I don't understand why watering the plants was not a part of the warranty discussion. It was not brought up when I called in the fall of 2014. He just said I had a 1 year warranty and we could discuss it in the spring. Also, how much was I supposed to water for him to honor his warranty? We never any and kind of a discussion that the warranty was based on certain terms.
