Revdex.com spoke with the business. An Engraver is coming out to fix the stone and this will be taken care of by the end of September.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This has not been taken care of and the stone has not been sent. The refund check that was sent to the customer bounced and charged their account a $12 fee. The business has promised to refund that as well and as of yet that has not been done.

As far as the stone I want this done before thanksgiving.  We've waited long enough.

Review: In October 2012, we contacted J.K. Redmond Funeral Home and spoke with the owner [redacted] that we wanted to have a headstone placed at our father's gravesite [redacted]). She stated that she would send to us a selection of headstones which we received 15 October 2012. After meeting with my mother and my siblings in March, I contacted [redacted] on March 16, 2013 via email of our selection and what we wanted on the headstone, she confirmed receipt of our email and agreed to meet with us.

On August 29 2013 we met with [redacted] and reviewed our selection (D-mart 991) and what we want placed on the headstone including working "In God's Care" (in place of the word father). On August 29, 2013, we paid [redacted] $450.00 via credit card to place 50% as a down payment (total cost for the stone including tax was $900.00) towards the total amount to begin the process of having the headstone made. She informed us that we would be notified when the stone was ready so that we can view it prior to the stone being placed should corrections are needed. Unfortunately, during this emotional period for my mother and me, we left our copy of the selection and what we requested in her office. I immediately contacted [redacted] on 17 September 2013 via email (following several calls) to forward this to us and after several attempts she failed to do so. We also requested another package of headstone selections we wanted to use for future stone and she also neglected to forward this information to me. And to date, we still have not received it either documents.

Following several phones calls for updates on the headstone, after speaking with her, she finally sent me a picture of the headstone showing that it was placed on my father's grave without our consent. I asked her why they placed the stone before we reviewed it to ensure we were satisfied with the outcome of the stone. Her excuse was that she was busy with a funeral and being that she wasn't at the office, they just placed the stone.

In review of the photos she sent, we discovered that the stone was also not correct and was missing the wording we requested to be placed.

I had promised my father that we would have his stone placed by March 11, 2013 (Birthday) but unfortunately, thanks to [redacted] it was not completed. I have never broken a promise to my Dad. This is so unacceptable beyond words.

To date we have had no resolution. She has not returned any of my calls or responded to my emails. At this point, we feel she is avoiding us. We are due to arrive in Virginia the last week of August 2014 and will attempt to meet with [redacted] in person to seek resolution. Since we both live in New Jersey, we feel now that we are beign disrespected especially since she has service many of our family members. We never anticpated this behavior.

If you need any additional information from me, please contact me directly. Thank you.Desired Settlement: Our family want the following:

1. headstone replaced with the correct stone and wording

2. prior to the stone being place on the graves as previously requested, we want to view the stone prior to placement

3. want all resolved by end of September 2014

Regards,

The customer called and said that she was confused about the response. If the business is saying the the word father will be removed then yes this would be resolved if done in the time mentioned. However, if the business is only adding the phrase and leaving father then this would not be resolved because the word father should not have been there in the first place.
