Business has not responded to repeated attempts to contact via phone, email, and facebook business page regarding warranty on work. Repairs are needed[redacted] was hired 11/30/15 to demo and tile bottom floor of home. Upon completion, homeowner pointed out areas of concern to which Mr. [redacted] replied it would take some time for grout to dry and floor to settle and that his work was guaranteed for 1 year. Payment was collected in full at that time. Several weeks later the grout began to crack and tiles began popping under weight on being walked on, leading to loose tiles. Mr. [redacted] has not returned any phone calls, emails, or facebook messages regarding the need to come make repairs.Desired SettlementI would like areas of loose tile and missing grout to be repaired along with a few areas of raised tiles leading to uneven walking areas.Business Response The house has various humps and dips in the floor due to structural issues. Durning installation we spent two additional days trying to level out the floor best as possible. Some humps were 1" high in a 3 foot area. I did my best and did not even charge her for the additional leveling that was not foreseen. She was aware of these issues and her floor warranty has been voided due to those pre existing conditions. Consumer Response [redacted], Your response to our Revdex.com complaint is completely inaccurate. The humps and dips in the floor were addressed by us to you during the bidding process. You said you would not know how severe the humps/dips were until you had the carpet/linoleum removed and could get a better look. Per the contract, any change orders were to be discussed up front. Once you removed the carpet/linoleum, we discussed our concerns on the floor level with you and you reassured us you could level the floors and it would not be a problem. On our final inspection with you, we had several tiles that were visually loose. After discussing these tiles with you, you said that it would be better to wait until the grout on the rest of the floor had cured before fixing these areas. And you said that 'That was the purpose of the 1 year warranty'. Since then, we have several other others of tiles popping up and coming loose with grout lines cracking. Some of these areas are not even near the humps and dips that you supposedly fixed. We would like all areas fixed correctly.

JKB Remodeling contracted to replace a shower stall in my home. They did not finish the job, and some of their work was unsatisfactory. My complaint is against Mr. [redacted] and his company, JKB Remodeling. A shower stall that he installed, and for which he has been paid in full, turned out to have a major defect that he was unable or unwilling to fix, in disregard of a three-year warranty. On April 2, 2014, we signed a contract with Mr. [redacted] for JKB Remodeling to replace a shower stall in our house. It specified that he would demolish the old shower and install a new one, including tile, all fixtures, and a new shower pan and shower door; sheetrock and trim at the bottom of an adjacent closet would be replaced; and mold treatment would be applied in an adjacent laundry room.Mr. [redacted] provided us with a quote of $2500 for labor; in addition we were to pay the cost of materials. In accordance with the contract we paid approximately half of the total cost in advance ($2787.50). The contract specified that "After the work is completed and passes your visual inspection you are then required to pay the remaining balance."Mr. [redacted] and his assistant worked on the project during the latter part of April. They finished on April 23, except for some final touch-ups, and so we paid the remaining balance ($2032.23) at that time, in accordance with the contract. However, we were cautioned not to operate the shower for a couple of days so everything could dry. When we did operate the shower several days later, problems became apparent. The most serious of these was that the floor did not incline smoothly down to the drain. Instead, there were high and low areas so that water was trapped in puddles and had to be removed with a mop. We alerted Mr. [redacted] to the problems on April 28, and he said he would take care of them "ASAP", but in fact it was not until June 26 that he and his assistant returned and addressed a number of minor problems. In an attempt to adjust the slope of the floor, they removed the floor tiles, applied additional mortar, and retiled the floor. When Mr. [redacted] returned on June 30 to grout the floor tiles, the mortar was still soft and wet. He promised to return a week later to grout the tiles, but never came back to finish the grouting or to clean excess grout from the shower walls, despite numerous emails and phone messages from us. In any case the floor still did not slope properly.Desired SettlementIn October 2014, we finally gave up trying to reach Mr.[redacted], and hired someone else to replace the shower floor. He did so competently and efficiently, charging us $900 (labor and materials) for this work. We therefore ask that Mr.[redacted] compensate us by repaying to us $900, approximately 19% of the amount we paid him.
