Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/07/21) */
[redacted] called during the month of April to discuss yard work that she would like to have done.
We agreed upon mowing, irrigation testing, spring clean up, and for her water feature to be fixed.
On a weekly schedule, we mow her yard...

on the same certain day that was discussed (Wednesday). The only time that this day would be moved of course is if it were to rain, which then her yard would be mowed on the next consecutive day when the rain had stopped. This was made clear to acknowledge when her dog would need to be let inside during the mowing of the back lawn. We have countless customers that have dogs and it would be almost impossible to call each customer right before we mow to let them know we are on our way. That is why we take the time to discuss what days we will be there. On top of discussing, we even have an email system that reminds customers to know what days we are coming to mow if they choose to be signed up.
When discussing tiling her garden, I made sure to get the job done by the date she had asked for. After mowing a few weeks, I had noticed that she never planted any plants in the garden. Not long after that, she confronted me why I had never tiled her garden. I was in shock by the fact that I had done it weeks ago when she had asked and by this time, the weeds had started to grow back because she had not done anything to preserve the tiled garden.
Around this time she had said that she was ready for the water feature renovation to take place, since she was on a "pay as we go" plan. She explained that she would like the water feature to be first completely taken out since she had the rocks, which made up the water feature, entirely concreted in. She wanted to use supplies that already in use on the water feature to work on the second one. I explained to her that the pump that is in place is much smaller than the ones that are usually in water features of that size. She told me that to just make it work for she did not want to buy any materials that would be in need to make a functional water feature that she had envisioned. We agreed on an estimate at [redacted]
This makes about [redacted] dollars in labor and [redacted] dollars in materials.
Materials included: rock, gravel, new insulation, and liner.
During the time of the job, I had chiseled out the concrete off of the rocks, dissembled the water feature to begin to dig a deeper hole for the deeper water feature she had been wanting. Once this was finished, I put the insulation and liner in place and then begin assembling the rocks. Before I began filling it with water, I had her approve of the water feature. We measured the inside water line, which measured to be 2.5 feet. She then decided that she did not prefer how the rocks were laid in the water feature. I began to rebuild the water feature to meet to her standards.
After the second time of rebuilding, she came outside to give it a look to see if it was any better. She disapproved and walked into her home without responding to what I could do to make it more like how she had wanted. After about the fourth time of this happening and the lack of her communication, I asked to discuss with her what was going on. I did all that I could possibly do to meet her expectations but she was making it impossible for me to even come close with her not wanting to talk about what needed to be done to meet what she had envisioned.
During this time, I had taken the time to check the water level and the flow of the water coming from the top. Because we had expanded her water feature, the pump that makes the water come from the top looked to be smaller because of the fact that it was with the feature being bigger. This had been discussed since day one to let her know that because she was not wanting to buy a new pump that it would not be a raging amount of water coming from the falls.
When the project was finished to the best of my ability, she was extremely upset by the way the pump looked. I explained to her the price of a new pump; she still did not want to buy it.
After all being said, I came to discuss that I have put in more time than what I was making from it, which was due to her lack of communication. I told her that as a guideline in Revdex.com rule books, I could put the water feature back to how it was originally, since I seemed that I could not make her happy... This infuriated her. When I tried talking to her, she resorted in yelling. She explained that men have a lot to learn about doing a job right and that the plumber that was here yesterday had received the same lecture. By this time, she was taking the topic off of the water feature and blaming men for her problems. I was ready for the situation to be over so I simply asked for a [redacted] dollar check- note that is without labor costs.
She did give me the check but it wasn't before she had threw it in my face. I plainly remained calm because I did not want this to hurt my business. After I said my goodbye, she quickly told me that I would need to give her two weeks before I was allowed to stop mowing her yard. I told her that I was sorry to inform her that this was the last time doing business.
Few days later, she would call and leave voicemails about coming back to work on her water feature, which was beyond clear that we were done when we said our goodbyes. She left voicemails saying that she had high expectations of me being a better man and finishing the job like she had asked many months ago. I did not return her calls, mostly because she had offended me to great measure about me simply being a man.
After a week and a couple days, I had to drive by to mow a house that was down the road. When driving by I saw that it had not been mowed. We stopped to mow for free it out of respect and kindness in hoping that it will spread into her life as well.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2015/07/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
His response amounts to lies. it is filled with just plain lies.
