JL Interiors knew we had a deadline that was fast approaching and after they started it became clear they were going to overshoot the deadline by more than a week. I spoke to the owner and requested that he throw additional guys on the job to make sure we could make the deadline. His answer was "no". He said he would not add workers and that one guy was sufficient. I went straight to my house and offered my services and proceeded to work 5 days over the next week and a half mudding and sanding. Even with my help they missed the deadline by 3 days. When I requested a reduction in the billing to reflect the labour I supplied the owner immediately threatened me with a lien against my house.
