Review: I had met with [redacted], owner, of JL Windows, in November to install 3 windows and a glass sliding door. After numerous cancellations, they came out to install the windows and was suppose to be there at 9am. Since I had to work, I had a family member agree to be there. By 11, no show or call. I called them and they said there truck was locked in their lot and no one had keys. They finally showed up about 1pm. After forgetting two of the windows which delayed them 2 more hours. They finished the job about 8pm, which didn't allow me to see how poor the job was done. The next morning, I realized that there were lots of bare spots with no paint, fading of color, some rough spots, some bubbled. On December 4, painters came out and worked on the windows, again going into the nighttime. On the following morning, some parts of the windows still had masking tape left on so when it was pulled off there was a sticky residue left behind, some fading, and one window's frame still had no paint. On February 2nd, [redacted] came back out to check the windows and agreed they still needed to be touched up. At this point, I've made several tries to have him come back out, which he says he will be there with painters and never shows up. I did look up his license and it has been suspended along with multiple poor reviews on many websites.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate JL Windows having somebody come out and touch up the paint work that was supposed to be done and has been already paid for. On receipt all work was guaranteed for lifetime. If this can't be done then a portion of the money paid should be refunded so I can have it done by somebody else.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[redacted], of JL Windows & Doors, text me on May 3, 2014 asking me to contact him anytime the following day to finalize the painting issue. I then called him the following day which what was asked of me and he didn't answer the phone. I left him a message to call me back as usual (May 3, 2014) and he never did until May 23, 2014. This is the same kind of treatment I've been getting from him since I started doing business with him. I've decided to hire somebody else to take care of the job that he couldn't do. I will definitely never do any business with him again and will let anybody I know not to use him. He definitely will not have any more business with our condo association and no [redacted] I won't be taking down the posts in regards to your bad service on the various websites.

Review: [redacted] and [redacted] provided a deposit check for $3,250.00 for the purchase and installation of twelve (12) vinyl Milgard replacement windows and one (1) Milgard sliding patio door, to [redacted] of J L Windows and Doors on Sunday, November 10, 2013. [redacted] and [redacted] requested proof of insurance before any work could begin. [redacted], of J L Windows and Doors, did not provide proof of insurance at any time. [redacted] and [redacted] asked [redacted] on December 5, 2013, when the windows were to be delivered. [redacted] informed [redacted] and [redacted] the windows would be ready to install January 3rd or 4th, 2014. [redacted] and [redacted] requested proof of insurance and workman's comp insurance before work could begin. [redacted] informed [redacted] and [redacted] he would send insurance information on January 15, 2014. [redacted] and [redacted] discovered from the Contractors State License Board on January 21, 2014, that J L Windows and Doors contractors license was suspended on December 26,2013, for not paying claims on the insurance bond. The discovery revealed information that lead [redacted] and [redacted] to ask for the Deposit of $3,250.00 from [redacted] of J L Windows and Doors. [redacted] has not refunded the deposit for the windows and sliding door described in the contract both parties signed on November 10, 2013.Desired Settlement: [redacted] and [redacted] desire [redacted] of J L Windows and Doors to return the deposit of $3,250.00, with a cashiers check or cash, for goods and services not provided.

Review: Ordered 5 "Magic Windows" from JL Windows and Doors on 11/15/14. Gave deposit of 50% of total cost, $2100.00. Promised delivery and installation of windows before Christmas. After being rescheduled numerous times, windows were to be delivered and installed 4/18/15. Contacted by an "acquaintance" of JL Windows and Doors who said windows were never ordered. Contacted "Magic Window" business office in Canada. We were told that they have not done business with JL Windows and Doors for over a year. Found out 4/20/15 that JL Windows and Doors' contractors license was suspended when window order and deposit was taken. After researching JL Windows and Doors on-line, many similar complaints from other individuals.Desired Settlement: Prevent JL Windows and Doors from continuing to do business and taking money from other unsuspecting people.
