Review: [redacted] WAS REFERRED BY A MUTUAL FRIEND TO DO REMODELING ON OUR HOUSE. HE STARTED THE JOB ON MARCH **, 2013. THE AGREEMENT WAS TO RENOVATE THE UPPER LEVEL OF THE HOUSE FIRST. THE FIRST PRIORITY IS TO COMPLETE MY MOTHER'S ROOM AND BATH. [redacted] IS AWARE OF THE SITUATION THAT MY 84 YRS OLD MOTHER WHO IS A [redacted]T WOULD NEED A COMFORTABLE SPACE ASAP. [redacted] VERBALLY LAID OUT HIS PLAN AND SOLD TO US TO BELIEVE THAT IT WILL BE FLAWLESSY EXECUTED IN ACCEPTABLE WORK SPEED. HE DID NOT GIVE US A WRITTEN CONTRACT AND ESTIMATED COST FOR THE CONSTRUCTION. HOWEVER, HE VERBALLY GAVE US 100% GUARANTEED SATISFACTION ON HIS WORK AND ACCURATE DATE OF COMPLETION. ALTHOUGH SEVERAL COMPLETION DATES HAVE BEEN MISSED, AND MULTIPLE PROMISES BROKEN FOR NOT MEETING VERBALLY CONTRACTED WORK, [redacted] CONTINOUSLY RECEIVED PYMNT ON TIME PER EVERY PYMNT RQUEST. [redacted] FAILED TO PROVIDE US AN ESTIMATED COST FOR THE LABOR AS REQUESTED ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS. ALSO, THE SUPPLY HE BOUGHT FOR US WAS NOT SUBSTANTIATED W/ A COST INVOICE. TO DATE, OUR HOUSE IS LEFT UNDONE, NOT ONE OF THE SECTIONS OF THE HOUSE HE WORKED ON IS 100 COMPLETED. OCTOBER [redacted] WAS THE LAST TIME HE SENT WORKERS, 2 GUYS FOR A HALF A DAY, AND PRIOR TO THAT WAS OCTOBER [redacted] and 2 GUYS FOR FULL DAY TO WORK ON THE HOUSE. I WILL BE FORWARDING A DETAILED INFORMATION, PICTURES AND TALLY OF THE EXPENSES AND PAYMENT MADE TO [redacted] ON A SEPARATE LETTER.Desired Settlement:

[redacted] collected over $32,000.00 cash from us for labor. Based on that amount and the work done, inconvenience and putting my mother's health at risk, I am requesting the below list completed ASAP. Also, I would like a written letter of apology, a warrantee by JLG Contracting for all work done in the event of failure and a cost invoice from the supplier for the materials he purchased mostly the HARDY BOARD, PELLA WINDOWS and Roofing supply. As I see the workmanship on my house appears sub standard, I am anticipating a problem in the future.

1. All outside house siding/soffit/fascia/trim work

2. Re-connect electric tfor outside lights

3. Install baseboard heating in bathroom/turn on heating zone

4. Window trim, front windows-interior

5. Sliding Door trimming-interior

6. Install bathroom saddle

7. Install or return the master bedroom doors

There are other items he left undone, infairness we are only seeking the important stuff that needs immediate attention.

In response to [redacted] complaint, I would like to start off by saying it was not a mutual friend that recommended JLG Contracting. It was her nephew who recommended JLG. The original scope of the project was to renovate a bedroom (mothers), a bathroom, master bathroom(never started) and hardwood flooring in bedroom and hallway. The scope of work then grew to renovate master bedroom, 2 guests bedrooms, crown moldings on all ceilings upstairs, chair rail molding on all walls upstairs,paint all walls and ceilings, and trim, all new doors in all rooms, all new Pella windows throughout the entire house ,new Pella 6' slider on rear of house, new window trim, new door trim, new base moldings, skim coating on all walls in master bedroom, new 1/4" lamination of sheetrock on ceiling in master bedroom, skim coating on all hallway walls, skim coating in guest bedrooms, new roof , new [redacted] siding, new PVC trim on outside, pvc window trim details on front box windows and on rear bump out on house,hi hats in rooms , ceiling fans, complete demo of roof , demo of existing cedar shingles, demo of all windows and slider, demo of existing bathroom, demo of all doors, demo of all window trim and door trim. I am sure there is more that I am not writing right now but my point to all of this is to make [redacted] realize that all work rendered doesn't even equal to what [redacted] has paid for. Not to mention that all of her material was being purchased at JLG's cost with no profit on material at all. Of course not to mention that if JLG's work is sub standard , then my question is why have us do all this added work ? There were many issues on her house. When installing windows on front of house the brick facade was pulling away. After further investigation, it was found out to be no brick ties back to house. JLG took brick off of house and reset with proper brick tie fasteners. There was a leak in ceiling in kitchen, problem found and resolved.
