A compilation of complaints and being sued by their wc insurance
There are too many negative complaints alleged against JLP and Jon Poetker to list here but a few are(paraphrasing) Jan L “poor workmanship”, Susan B. “too long to quote”, Dale, moved in with 50 things wrong and not done, his employees are stoned”, Thomas M, “company does not stand behind their warranty”, JLP says not warranty defects. Mark M, “JLP does not stand behind their work”, Jruss, “be very careful and do your home work before contracting with JLP”, Kristen M “poor quality”, One development JLP was involved in, Quail Ridge, Waterloo, IL there are over 20 complaints made against JLP with the City of Waterloo, ranging from unfinished houses, trash and weed everywhere. Then there is this issue during covid, JLP allegedly sent letters to existing customer with a build contract, that JLP could not build their homes for what they contracted for, due to Covid19 and material increases. JLP gave the home buyer an option to get their deposit back, and cancel their contract, or pay the additional cost. One lady claims their demand letter was for more than $50,000.00 over the contract was for. She also claims JLP attempted to charge her for truck loads of dirt that was not ever delivered. (Per neighbors’ cameras) Do your due diligence.
