In regards to ID # *** *** went out to Ms*** rental
and quoted her a price to put new doors and drawer heads on her kitchen They also discussed countertops She repeatedly stated she did not want to spend a lot of money on the countertops She just wanted new formica put over what was there ***, knowing that wasn't the best option due to the fact you could visually see the countertops were not in great shape agreed and did so Then she wasn't happy with seam in the formica I have pictures showing you have to really look to find the seam I honestly think she wants something for nothing *** did what she claimed she wanted at the time I have given her the same original price to put new plywood down and then lay the formica and she has not replied back You can't make one big sheet of formica with a better then perfect surface, backsplash the comes in and out, as well as unsquared walls We will be happy to redo it for the original to replace it properly price Thanks, *** ***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
When [redacted] came out to quote me new doors and
counter tops, [redacted] tried to get me to purchase granite counter tops.  I
told [redacted] that since it was a rental
I would prefer to go with Formica.
I DID NOT REPETITIVELY STATE THAT I WANTED THE
CHEAPEST OPTION.
I complained that I was not satisfied with the
quality of work on Tuesday Sept. 9th.  [redacted] and [redacted] came over to see
the counter tops that evening after 5pm.
[redacted] stated that the reason the seams were uneven
and unmatched was due to the warped wood beneath the counter tops.
[redacted] asked [redacted] if he had removed the original
formica beneath and [redacted] stated in front of Me, [redacted] my handyman, and [redacted]
that he had indeed removed the old formica.
I complained that the seams were not even with
each other and there were 4 seams around the sink and all four were rough did
not line up with each other, overlapped each other, and looked horrible.
I asked why they had to put a total of 5 seams in
such a small counter top. [redacted] stated that they don't carry large pieces of
formica in their shop.
I also asked if there was something that they
could use on the seams to try and disguise them better.   They said that
they would look into it.
I then received a call from [redacted] later and she
stated that they did have a product that they would use to fill in the seams
and disguise the seams, and they would have someone come
over in the morning to fill in the unfilled seams.

Filling the seams should have been part of completing the counter top.  I should not have had to
suggest it.  They never offered any other solution to correcting their
poor quality of work.
THESE UNFILLED SEAMS ARE SHOWN IN THE 1ST SET OF
PICTURES ATTACHED.  I have also attached pictures of the formica glue that
they got on my tile work and the caulking that they smeared all over my wood
work, and of the trash that they left all over my living room floor (Scraps of
formica, trash, and purple rubbler gloves)
I am unable to add all of the pictures here in
this complaint.
I have had two other professional Formica
installers look at the job that [redacted] did as well as quote me to redo the
counters.  [redacted] Construction and [redacted] and [redacted]
Both parties thought that the wood beneath the
formica was  NOT warped, and was NOT the reason for the poor quality of
workmanship.
They also quoted me LESS THAN what [redacted]
originally quoted me, and they quoted me knowing that they would
have to take off two layers of formica.
[redacted] never even removed one layer.
[redacted] threatened me in an email  on Friday
12th (3 days after install) that she would
lean my property if I did not pay the bill by
Monday the 15th.   I was still unhappy with their service and up until
that point they had NOT offered
any solution to the poor quality of workmanship.
Because [redacted] lied to me about needing to replace
the wood beneath the counter tops, Because of being threatened by [redacted],
Because of the horrible workmanship quality, Because of the horrible customer
service, Because I need to rent it,  and because it took [redacted] so long to
tell me what it would cost to replace the wood underneath the formica....
I went ahead and had [redacted] replace my counter
tops.  [redacted] removed both layers and found that they had placed  the
new formica on top of the old formica and 1/4 of an inch
out and away from the existing tile!  This
was why they used so much caulking which looked horrible.  She also found
that formica glue was sprayed on my wood work, in my drawers and caulking had
been
smeared across my woodwork.
[redacted] from [redacted] had also evaluated the wood
beneath the counter top and did not find it to be warped as [redacted] had stated.
I did not have to replace the wood.
I have many many more pictures of the horrible
looking counter top, the glue and caulking they left smeared on my wood work,
trash they left on my floor, and the of the unfinished side to one of my drawer
fronts.
Please read through the emails you will find that
[redacted] admits that their quality of work was poor on Sept. 12th.
I am very disappointed in their customer service,
and quality of work.   I will be adding more pictures to this complaint to
prove the quality of work.
[redacted] has admitted in her email on Sept. 12 that
their quality of work was sacrificed.

I have been unable to rent it because I have had
several potential renters view it and state that they would not rent it without
the counter tops being fixed.
I tried to explain that they had already been
fixed, but by the poor quality no one could tell they were new.
Regards,
[redacted]
