JMP Paving & Masonry Reviews (7)

Review: Jmp Paving & Masonry failed to complete paving and sealing services within a reasonable time as agreed upon between [redacted] and J[redacted].Mr. [redacted] agreed two times verbally over the phone to meet and schedule the balance of thedriveway job. Mr [redacted] failed to appear or contact Mr. [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

Desired settlement is completion of the driveway services.

Review: I hired JMP Paving & Masonry to do a major project at my home, including paving our driveway and building a rock wall, patio, walkway, and stone steps. Most of the work appeared initially to have been done adequately; however, after just a few months, much of the mortar on our walkway and stone steps has cracked, eroded and fallen apart. In addition, JMP never moved a number of large rocks next to our rock wall that were part of the cleanup associated with the rock wall work. I have contacted JMP repeatedly over the past several months to address these issues and initially I received promises that the shoddy work would be repaired and the rocks would be removed. However, these promised have never been fulfilled, and after the last several attempts at contacting JMP, I now receive no response at all.

Product_Or_Service: Paving and masonry services

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

I would like JMP to either honor its promise to repair the shoddy work and remove the rocks in a timely manner, or to offer me a refund for this work so I can use the money to hire another contractor to do the work instead.

Yes I spoke with him and set up a date for repair

Review: JMP PAVING assured me that the "liquid asphalt" product they were supplying was far superior to any in the other quotes we had received. They indicated two large areas of our driveway that would be removed and fully repaved, a section of unwanted, old, pavement would be removed from the end of the driveway. They guaranteed the product had a 10yr duration, whereas the competitors product would only last 2yrs.A few days later "[redacted]" arrived, knocked on our door and left, before we even had a chance to get to the door. At our neighbor, they did not even bother to get out of the truck, they drove in the driveway, honked their horn, and left. We all assumed that is was a mistake, since we had never heard of "[redacted]" before, and certainly never hired them to do any work for us.Then we saw caution tape at the end of our driveway, and a simple black sealant was down. I walked as far down the driveway as I could, and saw them finishing up at the bottom of our 150' driveway, spraying a light coat of standard sealant. Could not have been more than 15m later. The product they applied is cheaper than that which we had been quoted literally half the cost from another provider. JMP Paving told us that they would create a 1/4" coat of new asphalt on top of the existing driveway, but the sealant is so liquid that it has literally run off and not even covered parts at all. When we had them back to lodge a complaint, they suggested that we could "hire them to repave the driveway in a year or two," immediately negating their original guarantee that the sealant they applied was good for 10 years. In the end we paid them half the original contract price once they promised to come back and redo the job, and we never heard from them again. It is now 9 mos later and it's in far worse shape than ever. The patches they filled have completely emptied and all new asphalt is gone. The edges are falling apart. It is far worse than it would have been if we had never called JMP PavingDesired Settlement: Return of $1500 paid

Review: JMP Paving came to my house multiple times to try to get my business. They said they were doing work in the neighborhood and if I hire them ASAP they will give me a discount. This is what happened:1. We signed a contract that detailed the job that JMP Paving was going to perform. They were to cut down 44 trees, grind down the stumps, put down top soil, put down grass seed, do stairs leading onto the patio, redo patio and create a new wall in the back yard according to the visual examples we found. We paid them $6,500.00 to start and to pay the rest when the job was completed.2. JMP didn't show up to manage the laborers at all. 3. JMP started on patio first, even though we agreed to cut down trees first so that the patio and materials do not get damaged. Had to stop work on the patio and start cutting trees mid process as a result initial patio work was damaged.4. JMP hired many contractors who destroyed our property. First tree crew was unprofessional and left fully cut down trees on front/back lawn. Fire department came due to a complaint. JMP ignored our complaints for over a week. Grass was damaged, 8 bushes were broken and sprinkler system was damaged in 4 areas. After a week a new tree guy came to clean up. The work was not finished. Week later yet another tree crew came to finish cutting the trees but the tree stumps were still left.5. After 2 month of stress and trying to contact JMP, we mutually decided to terminate the contract if they were to fix things ruined on our property and put down top soil and grass. After many attempts and promises the work was not done. We had to pay for the stone and cement, stone for the wall, hire someone to grind stumps, build a patio, build a wall and put down top soil and grass seed.6. I have contacted JMP repeatedly over the past several months to address these issues and initially I received promises that they will bring us some of the money they owned us or at least put down top soil and plant grass. However after 3 weeks they did not do it.

Review: This company has not completed the undertaken project and I have had no communications for the past week. When the project was scoped out by a Mr. [redacted] from the same company we were promised that it would be ready before Memorial Day. Then we were told in Early June that parts were ordered which we are waiting for. When we spoke again not less than a week ago, we were told that the entire project will be done by Jul 4th by Mr. [redacted]. Every conversation had with a Mr. [redacted] (Mr. [redacted] son) ends with no exact timelines being given for the completion of our project and there have been no workers working on our project regularly either. Last week's conversation he said and I quote I am not a time sort of person and cannot give any exact dates/times.Ill get there when I get there when asked if there would be any work happening on our project that day. We have essentially paid $34,000 till date with no improvements or work to show for, that is in-line with the amount paid.I would greatly appreciate any assistance I can get from your organization. We are unable to open any doors leading to the backyard from the house and I am currently under great mental duress due to this.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

We would like to either see our project completed within the next 10 days and see workers working everyday or if the contractor does not have the skills to complete this, which is what it looks like (he seems to be learning on my job), We want a full and complete refund of $34,000.We were also given marketing material which said he was Revdex.com accredited. We have since found out that they were illegally using your accreditation logo

Review: Aug 2013 [redacted] from JMP came to my door. He said they were in the area and offered a free quote. The quote was very low compared to others. I did some research and although there were complaints I decided to take chance. They started on Aug 20 and said it would take 2 days. The agreement was to rip up the entire driveway and walkway, put down process, new asphalt and also some extras. It took them Day 1 to tear up the driveway and then Day 2 they did the extras and the asphalt. They cut corners like not tearing up the walkway and just paving over it and others. The main issue is they did not finish the job. They did not pave the bottom 4 feet or so of the driveway. Reason is just before the town paved my entire road including an apron on the bottom part of my driveway. JMP was afraid to tear that up and pave over it because they thought the town would fine them. This might have been ok except they completely destroyed the new apron. I called the town and they said there would be no fines. [redacted] promised me he would fix it. I just cant believe they were ok with how they left it. It was 2 days old and looked 20 years old. He said he would put sealant on it. I said no, it is a new driveway, I need asphalt on it. I wanted them to do it right and tear it up and do the same they did for the rest. He claimed from experience he would get fined even though I called the town and they said no. I basically just wanted it done and told him to put a fresh coat of asphalt over it but if it falls apart they are coming back to fix it. He agreed. I had been calling weekly and he keeps saying in a few days and nothing has been done. Now he is not returning my calls. I also have more issues to add to the list, there are some cracks that need repairing already and the drainage they put in is not working properly. The last rain we had washed some mud all over the new surface because they did not properly level the edges on the sides of the drivewayDesired Settlement: They are in breach of contract and all I want is my driveway fixed and the job completed to my satisfaction. I have been more than patient with them. I didnt want it to get to this point but unfortunately it has come to this. I regret using them and I hope they honor their contract and finish the job. If they cannot finish the job I want a refund. Please help me Revdex.com??? Those are you thinking of using them BEWARE. Spend the extra money and use a reputable business.

Review: [redacted] came to my door offering to pave my driveway in October,2010. In March 2011 it began to crumble in several areas.

After many attempts [redacted] did show up tp my house and offered to repair the driveway. This was in the Spring of 2011. He never returned. The driveway now is totally disintegrating.Desired Settlement: Repair, lower half (by street)

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the partial settlement response from the business.)

[redacted] came to my door 2 years ago and offered to repair the driveway. I never heard from him again. That is why it is "years". I am waiting for him to contact me.

Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2013/05/09) */

I will fix it for him
