The homeowner hired me to re-roof their home with steel roofing. I came to the house to measure and quote the job in early April 2015. While examining the roof for quoting and measuring, there were shingles that were broken off all over the roof from being in poor condition. I
measured up the roof and quoted the customer a price in which she accepted and we signed a contract which I required 1/down due at signing to cover part of materials cost. Once the contract was signed, I remained in contact with the homeowner over the next few weeks regarding the project so that they were aware of everything that was going onthe steel had gotten backordered which delayed the work to be done and also the weather was a factor. I started to work on the homeowner's roof towards the end of May when I knew that the steel was about to be delivered. To start with, I tore off shingles for only part of the house which I knew I could get removed and covered with synthectic felt for the day that I was working which was approximately only 1/of the roof that I tore off (I did not take off all of the shingles at one time and the synthetic felt is supposed to protect the house from weather elements). Unfortunately it rained the next day preventing me from working (which was a Friday) and it also rained periodically through the weekend. Over the time that I was not working at the homeowner's house and it had rained, there was a leak in her house of which she notified me of and I promptly replied that I would take care of. Following that I returned to remove the rest of the shingles and put on the synthetic felt that is supposed to protect the house from weather elements. (*Based on homeowners complaint that I was offered tarps to cover roof, I was not ever personally offered any tarps to cover the roof and in any case, they should not have been needed because that is what the felt is for.) Unfortunately, the homeowner notified me that their house was leaking again and that even though I offered to take care of, they did not want me do and asked for me to reduce the cost of the job which I suggested taking $off the priceshe wanted $in which I told her that I was going to turn the damages into my insurance to ensure it would get fixed properly and she declined to accept the claim when my insurance company contacted her. At this point in time, it has been over a week since the job has been completed and based on the signed contract with the homeowner, I was supposed to receive final payment upon completion and I still have not been paid and she refuses to pay me nor will she accept an insurance claim from my business insurance which is to cover instances such as this. I have all of the emails that were exchanged between the homeowner and me if they are needed to help resolve this issue as I have tried and offered to correct the issue and been turned down. Please let me know if anything else is needed or if I should send any of the information from emails, pictures or copy of the contract.Thank You,*** ***JNJ Construction LLCID #***Customer/Homeowner: *** ***

The reason we declined his insurance company is because they would not cover the cost of the replacement of the ceilings (2) which were both a total replacement and the flooring in the kitchen that was damaged also from the leakingThe roof leaked again after he was "finished" and it was around the chimney - I informed him of this and he did not return to look at it or even fix it - so technically he has not FINISHED the job - we are working with our  homeowners insurance as they are willing to pay for complete fix of the problems created by his negeliance - he said he put the paper on the roof - after it leaked the first time don't you think you should have took better precautions to prevent further leaking in future storms????? we had to hire someone to finish the chimney by putting flashing around it to prevent further leaking- the reason we have not paid him is because we are waiting for the final settlement from our insurance company to make sure we are not going to be responsible for his negilence in the roofing job - none of this would have happened IF he would have just done his job correctly. He will be paid with in the next month - he had our down payment from April 10th till he started the job in mid to late May so he can just wait for the balance. till all things are resolved
