Review: I purchased a sewing machine through the Viking Sewing Center at advertised price of discounted from $999.99 to $399.99; Total paid $427.99. I had spoken to a sales rep: [redacted] the previous week and she gave me a demo but I was not ready to purchase until the following Sunday. I later purchased from [redacted] who asked me at the time of checkout what price [redacted] had quoted me. This was odd. I asked him what price he has listed. He responded that the listed sale price is $399 but he did not want to sell it to me at that price if that was not what [redacted] quoted to me. This implied that the machine is not being sold for the same price consistently to all customers.After my purchase, I learned that JoAnn Fabrics marked up the price of this machine by $300.00; it's listed at $699.00 - sale price everywhere else listed between $289 and $319. I contacted the rep, [redacted], & asked ask why they have marked this product up so much and are not extending the sale price as it is listed elsewhere & I told her I found the comment by [redacted] to indicate that the price is flexible if not arbitrary. [redacted] was hostile. She was rude, stated [redacted] was probably quoting something based upon the price 6 months ago and said they charge extra to cover the classes and any support through Viking. I told her this was not clear at time of purchase & I had no intention of taking any of those classes and did not want to pay for them. She asked me to email the listings w/lower price; I sent 4 showing the lower retail value & sale price. She did not respond. I called back & she said she would get back to me after speaking to someone but would return my call. She didn't. I called again the following day and she responded very rudely that I would not get any further deduction. She's awful & her attitude suggests that the entire store is not trustworthy. I will now drive the 40 minutes to return this machine on principle alone - all I asked is a deduction to reflect the going retail & sales price.Desired Settlement: All I asked is that the sale price be adjusted to highest going rate elsewhere @ $319.99. I did not even ask for the lowest sale price. But, more than anything, I expected to be treated with respect and courtesy in light of the fact that I had made a very large purchase. She could have been polite and returned the email or call based upon her word. I am extremely upset and do not plan a return to the store or a future Viking purchase.
