Review: We hired and paid in full [redacted] to provide photography services for the wedding of my son and now daughter-in-law in Plymouth, CA on May 7, 2011. We paid $3,500 for pictures to be taken at the wedding and for a 30 page album of wedding pictures. We contracted with Ms. [redacted] in August 2010. As of March 29, 2014, we have not received the album. My daughter-in-law has made several attempts to set up meetings to discuss the album; Ms. [redacted] cancelled two that had been scheduled and does not return telephone calls. I have called her multiple times at three different telephone numbers over the past three months, including the one associated with her at the address she apparently now has. She has never responded. We sent certified letters asking for either a partial refund or the completion and delivery of the album to all three addresses for her we have found; we received a signed returned receipt from the Foresthill, CA address. However, as of March 29, 2014 neither my daughter-in-law, my son, nor I have received any communication from Ms. Yorston. The reason why one hires a wedding photographer is to have professional quality pictures for the wedding album. Without the album, the contract is far from fulfilled. We would prefer to receive the album; however, if Ms. [redacted] is unable to do this, we would like an appropriate refund.Thank you, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Production and delivery of the album or an appropriate refund. Given the importance of an album as both a commemorative item and a source of pleasure to share with friends and family, as well as the delay involved, we would suggest a refund of half the price of the service. This refund would be $1,750.00.

Response:

I have been doing my best to deal with [redacted] and [redacted] to get them their wedding album.

[redacted] and [redacted]'s wedding was 5/7/2010

It was not until 2/12 that [redacted] made a meeting for me to come up to her house in deep Amador County (1 1/2 hour drive) to meet about designing the album. She did not have the images picked we had to go over all of them and I was left having to choose for myself.

It was at this [redacted]e she said that [redacted] did not like the way his jacket looked and hoped that I could fix it. I sat there for 30 min trying to fix one image to show her how difficult of a task it was. She understood that I would do the best I could but it would take [redacted]e.

Due to wedding season it took a bit longer to get the design but in the contract it states I have 6 months to complete the design. On 8/12 I sent [redacted] and [redacted] their wedding album design. The album was over 30 pages as contracted and [redacted] understood there would be more cost, we where also going to include the engagement images in the album.

On 9/12 [redacted] got back to me with her revisions, there where numerous over 20 changes including adding several pages. This also included fixing the images of [redacted]'s jacket. I explained to her that this would take some [redacted]e as this was an expert level photoshop and even then on some of the images it was impossible.

We scheduled a meeting for December of 2012 but I had to cancel due to health issues and a move to Foresthill a location that was over 2-3 hours from Amador. I explained that the software was only on my home computer and I had to make the revisions via email.

4/13 new revisions where sent by Sarah

6/13 I responded with the changes that I did have and questions.

6/13 I sent her "boudoir" digital images ($799 value) and engagement images ($399) as well as all the raw images so she could look through them all since we where having problems with images that she thought we should have taken.

I have not heard back from Sarah, I emailed her that I was waiting for her to send me the images that she wanted in her album to complete it, I have not had the [redacted]e to meet with her considering I have spent so much [redacted]e on working on her album alone.

I have done everything I have been contracted to do and more. I am not withholding any albums from [redacted] and [redacted] and am waiting on them to give me a go ahead or changes on the design to get it completed. There is no reason we need to meet in person as the design looks exactly the same on my computer as theirs.

I have been MORE than giving and accommodating in the process. I have not charged [redacted] for the digital copies of her boudoir images, engagement images, or excessive editing which would add up to over $1200 as stated below in the contract.

As stated in line 13 of the contract "Any changes after the 1st design change will cost $50 per change (10 items included in each change) after 1 year the client will be charge $50 per month for inflation and after 2 years the client forfeits their album.

As far as the excessive editing in line #12 it sates that all images will be edited for color lighting, clarity, all images considered reasonable will be kept. Special editing will be done with images in our "photographers favorites" and all images that are used in the album. What is to be extensive editing can be done by quote.

To get this album done, I need any final changes emailed to me by [redacted] with the image names and where they are to go. Currently her album pages stand at 50 sides not including the engagement photos (I still need to get those from her) Once I get the images and we are able to come to an arrangement on the design, balance due and any parent albums that they would like. I will be able to complete this project. I do not want to have to charge any extra charges and did not intend to due to the great connection we had at the wedding.

I will give [redacted] 3 months from this email to respond with any final changes on the album. If I do not hear from her concerning this matter I will be forced to abide by the contract that she agreed to and forfeit the album based on the balance for extra charges supersedes the product value. If I hear from [redacted] or [redacted] via email or Revdex.com I will continue to just charge for the extra pages and cost for any parent albums they want.

I look forward to getting this project completed,

Jodi Yorston

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We are pleased that Ms. Yorston wants to complete the album. My daughter-in-law forwarded her a list of the pictures she would like in the album on April 2. She will come to an agreement on price and the number of pages with Ms. Yorston. We are looking forward to the album. We chose Ms. Yorston, because of the outstanding examples of her prior work she showed us, so we are looking forward to the completed project.

Sincerely,

Review: Mrs. Yorston never provided our wedding pictures or album in any medium whatsoever.

In June of 2012, I signed a contract with Jodi to shoot our wedding on 5/18/13. A deposit was made and the final remainder was collected on April 30, 2013. Jodi repeatedly promised to send pictures in the mail, via email, and to post them online, but repeatedly failed to do so and ignored numerous text messages and emails regarding the matter. The contract states photos would be delivered within 4-8 weeks of the wedding. It has been 11 weeks and we have no photos and no answers. These photos are irreplaceable as they documented the most important day of my life.Desired Settlement: I want the full set of our wedding photos and our wedding album as detailed per our contract as well as a refund, per Jodi's own contract saying we are entitled to such if she breaches the contract. The most important part of this settlement for my husband and I is to receive our complete set of photos.

Consumer's Final Response

Mrs. Yorston provided the pictures shortly after this complaint was filed. I called the Revdex.com to report this and told them they could close the case. Please close this case as it has been handled. Thanks.

Review: Jodi Yorston Photography is now [redacted] by Jodi Yorston. I hired Ms. Yorston to photopragh my wedding which was September 2014. I new her first as a photograher and then became friends. There is no doubt about it she does amazing beautiful work. However, it has been 1.5 years since my wedding and I yet to receive my wedding album and 2 (6x6) complimentary/parent albums that were part of our wedding package that we paid for in full.

Timeline -Wedding Day Sept 14, 2014.On Nov 1, 2014 we had a meeting at her former residence on [redacted]. [redacted] is roughly 3 hours from where I live. We met and went over the wedding photos (most of them she had edited prior) so that was nice. After reviewing the photos we put together the wedding album. The package we purchased for our wedding included (1) wedding album , 40pgs, 9x13 and (2) 6x6 complimentary/parent albums (which is smaller versions of wedding album for parents). When Ms. Yorston and I finished putting together the album it ended up being 63 pages (23 pages extra- which I did not mind paying for the extra pages). Ms. Yorston did give me digital copies of the wedding photos on a USB drive. Before I left Ms. Yorston told me I would have them before Christmas 2014.

I have sent mulitple emails, FB messages and text messages to Ms. Yorston who at in one of the messages told me that she hadn't ordered my albums for financial reasons and used my wedding package money for personal use. She sent me a final proof on Jan 10,2015. There was one edit that needed to be done other then that I approved it. I didnt' hear back from Ms. Yorston until June 2015 and she said she was working it. July 2015 she said she had the money and would order. Still no albums after multilple contacts. Oct 2015 made contact again and still haven't recieved my albums. I have copies/records of all communication. I still have not recieved my albums after multiple attempts and now she does photography under [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like Ms.Yorston to finish the job we paid for. In an email at one point she said she would credit me the extra pages for the lack on her part, which I accepted and yet here I am a year and half later with no wedding albums to share with family or friends.

If she is unable to do so I wish to be reimbursed for the part of the package that includes the wedding albums in an estimated amount of $1000.00-1500.00 We paid roughly $5400.00 for the wedding package.
