Jodi's Seasonal Reviews (1)

My daughter ordered flowers for me to be delivered today (Feb 14, 2014) Jodi's florist REFUSED to deliver the flowers even though the delivery fees were paid etc. The woman called me and told me that they did not have any other deliveries going to my town therefore they refused to deliver the flowers.Let me say, my daughter PAID the fees for delivery and was assured that the flowers would be delivered on time. The woman was rude, condescending and just down right cold and uncaring about the delivery. She told me they had 100's of other orders and made me feel that the order for me was unimportant and not worth their efforts.Product_Or_Service: FlowersDesired SettlementI just want people to know that this florist is not worth doing business with. I am (or was) a repeat customer of theirs. I will never, ever do business with them again.Business Response Dear Ms. Price,Thank you for contacting us regarding the complaint [redacted] filed against our business. Please allow me to explain. Ms. [redacted]'s daughter did not place the order directly through our shop, she placed it through 1-800-FLOWERS which is a third party flower service. When an order comes in through one of the flower services it is with in my contracted agreement to refuse any order for any reason. Had Ms. [redacted]'s daughter called my shop directly to order she would have been informed at the time the order was placed that we would not have been able to deliver to that address on Valentine's Day.The delivery date for the order was 2/14 on which our area was having extremely bad weather. We were having a blizzard and there was 2 feet on snow that came that day. Ms. [redacted] lives 21 miles away from my shop which is 40 minutes one way on good day in dry weather conditions. The roads were horrific and I was not going to risk the safety of my drivers to attempt this delivery to this address. The address where she lives are all dirt and frost heaves and impassable [redacted] inclement weather. We processed over 200 other orders on that day and given the conditions of the road it was not possible to devote the time to go to that location on that day. I contacted Ms. [redacted] to explain we could not go there today for those reasons and offered for her to pick up her order to which she refused and had a very combative personality. She stated she did not care about the safety of my employees, she was very hostile and demanded we make this delivery to her regardless of the weather conditions.Ms. [redacted] called our shop several times that day and kept demanding we make this delivery to her.A short while later we received a phone call from someone stating they were her attorney that she was going to sue us for not completing her order. At that time I made the decision to reject the order and informed 1-800-FLOWERS of the situation as I had no intention of going anywhere near this customer or her address after she made that threat. The address where she lives are all dirt and frost heaves and impassable [redacted] inclement weather. It was in no way our intention to make Ms. [redacted] feel as though she were unimportant however given the weather conditions on that day and distance away from us it was unfeasible to complete the order. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I never called Jodi's after her original phone call to me. I was never threatening nor did I become combative. I have 2 people who were in the room with me who heard the entire conversation. I never said I did not care about the safety of their employees. What I DID say was that they did not care about my safety by asking me to pick up a delivery which a FEE had been paid to them for this service.Furthermore, the roads were not at all bad that day. The road which I reside on is a dirt road, yes but it is in better shape than most city streets at this point. There are school children that live on my road and they never have any issue making it to school so the argument that my road is "impassable" is not at all true.As for my threatening to sue them I never once even mentioned any lawyer! I never called them back after they indicated that my order was not going to be delivered. I never raised my voice, nor did I ever say anything out of line to this woman. I voiced my disappointment in their refusal to deliver my order and I was incredulous at the variety of excuses they gave me.Suffice to say, I will never do business with Jodi's again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. According what I learned via FTD, they truly had no right to refuse to provide delivery of an order which was paid for over 24 hours prior to the expected delivery. As for picking up the order? They had been paid well to deliver this order. I was not going to go pick up something which they had been paid to do. That is not right.
