I placed a service call for a washer that would not start. The guy came out the scheduled time. Came in and realized the washer was hooked to a GFI circuit next to the bathroom. Although the breaker box was functional he just had to go in the bathroom and click the little button in the middle of the outlet. He charged me $40 and was here for less than 5 minutes. I've had other service calls where if it wasn't a problem I wouldn't be charged a fee. A good service man does that to keep business coming back. Not this guy. The likelihood of me using him again or referring him 0.

I started doing business with Big Don Edwards in the early 1980's. I'm not real sure of how many times I've done business with them but it's been at least over 20 times between purchases and service repairs on refrigerators, washers & dryers. I have also referred many, many people over the years. They were a good business with great customer service. I called and spoke to a customer service rep on 1/18/2018 and was quoted a price of $49.95 for a service call to repair a dryer that would not start. The technician had to replace a fuse which only took him 10 minutes. Then I was given a bill for $116.60. This has never been the practice with this company for over 35 years. I called to speak with someone from the service department but nobody has been kind enough to return my call. It is very disappointing that they chose to change their business practices without notice. They obviously don't value a good reputation for customer service. Not only will I never do business with these people again, I will take every opportunity available to advise anyone that asks against doing business with these people. CONSUMERS BEWARE!

Review: on march the 24 2014 my refrigerator was not getting cold so my husband went and fine someone to fix it, it was Joe Edwards he came out on the 4-8-2014 and said that it need a new condenser pan motor and it will cost 206.70 we said ok he order the part and came and put it in it work for two days and then went back to been hot so we call him back this time he said we need a new control board and it will be 206.30 we said ok so he order the part and put it in it work for a week and went back hot again I went back to the store and complain and I was told he will come and see what going on it took him a week to come out when he left it was getting cold but then it start to switch itself off for 10 minutes each day so we call him back he said it need another control board I told him to fix it but I will not be paying him any more money he said he need to order the part and it come he will come and put it in.while we were waiting for the part to come we call up the maker of the fridge and ask someone to come and have a look at it they came and said that the guy but something in it that was not ment to be in it I phone the guy and told him what the other one said and I told him I want my fridge to be fix now it is 7-6-2014 and my fridge is still not fix.Desired Settlement: to get a refund so I can get someone from the maker of the fridge to come and fix it for me , thank you [redacted]

Review: On March 3, 2014, I contacted the business and requested a repair person to come and look at my top-loader Maytag washing machine. I was informed that there was a $50 diagnoses fee, and if I continued with the repair that this amount would be deducted from the total bill. The repair person came out to my home within a few days and diagnosed the problem and informed me that it would cost $180 to fix the machine. I gave him $60 and he promised me that he would come back with the piece for the machine the next day which was Saturday, March 8, 2014, he never came or called but showed up on Monday, March 10. My washing machine washed three loads of clothes and the same problem occurred. I called the business the next day which was about March 13, the repair person came out on March 17th and checked the machine again and said everything was working again. I washed another three to four loads and again the same problem. I called the business the next day and the repair person came out the following day, I believe, and we spoke about the newer machines lack of performance compared to the older models. And he said that the older machines are better. I said if this machine breaks down again tell your boss that I would like one of his refurbished older machines in exchange for the monies that I've paid because I can't deal with this one. He said he would relay that message to his boss. My machine breaks down yet again and I contacted the business and left a message that I would like a refurbished machine. The boss, Joe, called me on Monday, 3/31/14, and informed me that he would have a refurbished one delivered to me the next day, 4/1/14 and that someone would call me and inform me of the prospective delivery time. On 4/1/14, I waited until 12:30 pm and no one contacted me, so I called the business and left a voice mail for someone to contact me about delivery because I could not wait around all day long. Some one contacted me around 1 pm on 4/1/14, but I was in an area where they are doing heavy construction and I did not hear the call. I contacted the business about 30 minutes after the last call and was informed that they were out of my area and they could deliver it the next day 4/2/14. I've continued to contact the business but no one has informed me about the delivery of the washing machine.Desired Settlement: I desire to receive $130 because the machine was never fixed properly so that I can seek out another washing machine on my own.
