Joe Heidt Motors Corp. Reviews (5)

Joe Heidt Motors contacted us, specifically Robert in the Sales department. He issued the refund back to my credit card and was very amicable and helpful.

Our Customer brought her vehicle into our shop on 10/25/16 and stated that the car had a high idle and the transmission indicator "D" was blinking.  A complete computer diagnostic was performed and it showed the multiple clutch and cover in the transmission needed replacement.  The...

customer then gave us permission to repair this item.  When the repair was finished the car then received another complete computer diagnostic test and it showed everything was operating per factory specifications and no indicator lights were lit on the dash of the car.  Car was also test driven and performed per factory specifications.  Customer then was called and picked up her vehicle. When customer left the repair shop with the car no indicator lights were on, car was operating properly per factory specs or customer would surely not have left with the vehicle.  The technician who performed this repair is a VW Factory Certified Technician.  All of our repairs carry a 12 month/12,000 mile parts and labor warranty.Four days later, customer returns and vehicle has an indicator light ( not the blinking "D" transmission selector light that was "on" during customers previous visit )  lit up on the dash board of the car.  We  then performed a courtesy no charge complete computer diagnostic  scan of the automobile and it showed that there was a turbo problem.  Customer refused any repairs and left with the vehicle.  We, until your correspondence, have not heard back from this customer. The clutch pack is not related to the turbo, they are separate components, one on the engine and the other inside the transmission.

The customer was contacted today and has received her deposit refund on her credit card. The service incident did not take place at our dealership...I understand that it took place at another VW dealership in New Jersey

Review: was originally given price of 10,000 for vehicle. When purchased they said 10,999.00 to cover cost of bank application, then they said to cover muffler repair. [redacted] told us in person that they had to get muffler fixed, that they had to get it from some where. On the contract you can see where the price was changed in which I have a copy of. When first purchased the vehicle. My down deposit was paid for over 6 days and did not receive the vehicle because the car was not repaired as promised. [redacted] told me I should have a credit from the original warranty that they gave me because I purchased the extended warranty. This was not given back to me. The car is still broken. We call and never get return phone calls from [redacted] at service dept. When we finally spoke with [redacted], he refused to fix the car or give me a loaner car even though this was the original repairs that needed to be done. I gave them a list in which all items were not repaired. They promised me car mats. They gave me ones that do not fit and slide to gas and brake petal. very dangerous.Desired Settlement: want the car fixed and done properly with loaner car so I may get to the doctors, ect.. The extended warranty should not have to cover any of these items that was present before delivery of the car to me. I don't wish to be lied too but do wish to be treated like a human being. I would like to be refunded my credit for warranty and the 1,000.00 over-paid for vehicle.

Response:

The customer made an offer to buy the vehicle for $10,000 with certain (4) items to be repaired. The car is an 8 year old used Volkswagen. Management refused the customers $10,000.00 offer and came back with a price of $10,999.00 with the four items customer requested to be repaired and a 90 day power train warrantee and car set for New York State Inspection, as the customer told us she was a resident of New York State.. The customer then accepted those terms and the buyers order was completed(hence the reason for the price change). Customer could have opted out of the sale if she did not want to accept mangagments counter offer.Upon delivery customer opted to purchase an upgraded VW two year power train warrantee, the selling price of the upgraded warrantee includes the credit for the 90 day warantee. Customer was given a loaner car on her first visit, however, some items mesntioned by customer with cosmetic and others were and not included in the VW warrantee, we corrected many items as a customer good will gesture. Customer then brought car back again with more items to correct, customer was then told that those items were not under a warantee such as floor mats, ect. Car was sold to a New York address, not New Jersey, and was set up for NYS Vehicle Inspection, if there were any mechanical or safety isssue problems with the car this Inspection would surely have brought them to light and we would have fixed them. The customer never returned with any inspection failure notice. No money is due the customer, as we repaired all items listed on the original agreement (4 items) and have done additonal no charge work since delivery of the vehicle either as good will or under the customers warantee. If the customer wishes to cancel the warantee and get back her money back for the warantee that can be done through our office. VW cancels on a pro rata basis.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

We were told by our salesman () the car was 10,000.00. We paid all our deposits. We received a phone call stating the car was now 10,999.00 due to a bank fee for credit application. When we disagreed with the salesman ([redacted]) regarding the reasoning for the additional money, he then had us on hold and then confirmed it was not for the bank but for the muffler repair and the converter. At the time of signing of contract the salesman confirmed the car was still in repair and confirmed the muffler and converter repair was the reason for the additional costs. We did not get delivery of the car for at least 7+ days later and the wheel caps that were promised were not there yet. These repairs should be the responsibility of the dealer. When we spoke with the credit manager, he confirmed there is no such amounts that are charged back to the client. The car was not able to be picked up on the date of delivery because repairs were still not complete. The credit manager told us if the bank calls (which they didn't) to tell them that we have the car in our possession, even though we did not. The car has been in repair with the dealer 3 times for same issues, which are still not fixed. The locks do not work. The brakes still squeal at times, the right front tire still rattles especially when hitting bumps. The steering wheel shimmy's when you are on the highway 55-65 mph. The keyfob does not work. The windshield washer fluid squirts to one side of the windshield. The cab inside the car still get's hot. Every time I bring it in for any of these issues, they tell me nothing is wrong with it. The last time it was repaired, they said it was the converter AGAIN. Which we paid the original $999.00 for (muffler). They were suppose to fix the stain on the driver side door, this was said to be done. Within an hour, once the shine they put on the door wore off, the stain is completely there untouched, was never buffed out like [redacted], the service manager said he did personally. [redacted] also confirmed with us and showed us the original bill of the muffler/converter repair, and stated "well, the costs have to come from somewhere!!". He was very rude to say the least. Every time we would call to try to get this all taken care of we would receive no return calls from either [redacted] in service or [redacted] as promise. There is suppose to be a 14 or more point check on the vehicle and nothing was checked. I have the contract in which the 10,000.00 was written over and then made into 10,999.00. The 10,000.00 was not what we offered, it was what we were told and was contracted. I have the original contract showing the change and can be seen plainly that it was changed by the dealer. I was also told by [redacted] since I purchased the extended warranty, we should have received a credit from the dealer warranty to the extended warranty. We did not. I also have several written complaints from many people that have purchased vehicles from the dealership in the past with the same problems as discussed above (repairs not being done or not done properly, no phone calls being returned or [redacted] and others being rude to customers, yelling, foul language, vehicles purchased are not up to standard, and so much more. I am also looking into a main corporate number in which I will be contacting as well. If this is not resolved fairly I am also contacting the attorney general's office. We have had nothing but stress with this purchase and the car itself. They have had this car for repairs longer than I have owned and paid on-time payments for it. Something needs to be done at this point. Business ethics need to be addressed as well as honesty. What I proposed in the original complaint is more than fair, or take the car back and return all my funds so I can buy a dependable car from a dependable dealer.

Regards,

Business

Response:

I am responding to ID #[redacted], Ms. [redacted]'s complaint. I reviewed the buyers order and contract for Ms [redacted]s purchase. The negotiated and management accepted price for the car was $10,999.00. I'm not able to verify any alleged third party conversations, only by the signed contracts. The price of $10,999.00 is from the contract that was signed by the purchaser and the sales manager. Ms. [redacted] was at the time of purchase a NY state resident. The buyers order reflects her New York address and shows NYS sales tax was collected. We guaranteed NY state inspection. NYS requires a vehicle to be inspected within ten days of purchase. The vehicle was registered on 6/26/2013. The inspection was done by Ms. [redacted] and the vehicle passed. NY state safety inspection is a comprehensive inspection in which if any of the items Ms. [redacted] complained about would surely would have been found at that time. Ms. [redacted] does in fact have an extended warranty that she purchased. This warranty requires a one hundred dollar deductible per occurrence. This warranty covers mechanical failures but not maintenance or cosmetic issues. If there are conditions with the car as she states, this or any repair facility she chooses can do the repairs if they are covered by the terms of the warranty contract she signed less the deductible. It is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] feels these issues are in any way our fault or responsibility. We acted in good faith throughout the entire purchase process as we do with all our valued customers. Joe Heidt Motor Corp has been in business for 55 years and has an impeccable reputation in the community.

Review: Joe Heidt sales person [redacted], his manager and the finance officer lied to me about my license and registration. It took over thirty days to get plates. They lied and told me they had registered to my old plates but could NOT have because I still had the plates registered to the car. They showed me a fake registration!!!!

Then to top it off I was pulled over today because they dealer NEVER put an inspection sticker on the car!!!!!! How does this dealer NOT put an inspection sticker on a car. This is Unacceptable!

UPDATE FROM CONSUMER AS OF 8/7/2013

THEY NEVER REGISTERED MY CAR UNTIL JULY 12TH ACCORDING TO DMV RECORDS. I DID NOT RECEIVE UNTIL JULY 19THDesired Settlement: I would like to return car for full price because I no longer trust this dealership!!!!!
