Response:We are aware of the issues that our customer has been having with his roof and believe that we have addressed them appropriatelyWe agree that the first roof that he purchased that was installed by our technicians did blow off on his trip home from picking up the unitJoe Hill’s provided
the customer a replacement roof at no additional charge; however we did not install the roof at this timeThe customer stated he had a long drive and agreed to install the second roof when he got to his ride locationJoe Hill’s did not refuse to install the roof, and only made the suggestion that he may want to install it once he got to his destination; the customer was in agreeance with this ideaThe customer states that after riding for two months he lost yet another roof, which is unfortunateWe submitted a warranty case to Can Am and it was denied; which is actually quite common when it comes to accessoriesWe feel we did our due diligence by standing behind the first roof that was lost, which we should have, but after losing the second one that becomes an issue between Can Am and the customerJoe Hill’s feel that the roof was probably installed correctly, but there are many factors that could have influenced the loss of the roof: including design, wear of the product, speed of the traveling vehicle, etcThe before mentioned factors are controlled by things outside of our dealerships control and were not influenced by us; therefore we cannot give away another replacement roof at no chargeThe customer will be responsible for the cost of the roof and he will not be responsible for any interest changes as we have already communicated that with himWe apologize for our lack of communication when it came to returning a phone call and how frustrating that can beThis is an issue in which we have addressed within the departmentWe are hopeful that the customer can resolve this issue with Can Am and that Joe Hill’s can continue to have a positive business relationship with him

As I have stated earlier the first roof flew off on the way home after picking up my Defender before I had ever drove the machine There is obviously a design flaw in how the roof is secured to the machine or the second roof would not have flown off as wellThey act like they did me a favor by replacing the first roof I am very disappointed in the flippant and condescending attitude exhibited by Joe Hills It is almost comical that their last response stated any further communications would be to the manager I had asked to speak to the manager David Hill (son of Joe Hill) many times and he would never take my call or return my calls as promised I can empathize that they are in business to make money, but they should not be blaming me for roof flying off They should get reimbursed by Can Am for their design flaw but since they are not, I should not be help responsible I have done nothing wrong and this is not my fault
