Joe-K Used Cars Reviews (%countItem)

On day 45 of having a car that I purchased from them, it broke down. The agreed to paying half of the repair and now they are saying they won't and I have to pay for the full amount. I paid $2000 down. I took it to a mechanic and he said it has a really bad oil leak. It hasn't been 60 days yet and I have a 60 day warranty and they are not covering the cost of the repair. To repair, the estimate is $2200.00. I have called to see if I can return the car for another and the owner is never available.

is out of warranty by her miles. Our limited 50/50 warranty is 60 days from the sale date or 2000 miles whichever comes first on engine and transmission only. *** can take her vehicle to a shop of her choice and bring paid receipts. We will work out a payment arrangement with her on her car note.

I bought a truck from them on February 24, 2020. I told them that something was wrong with it. I paid $3500 down and made 2 car payments. I had it towed to their shop. They have had it for a while. They told me that I may need another number. The advertised that if something is wrong with it, they would pay for the tow. They did not pay for the tow, I had to. They told me the motor was $2000. They said they do not have anyone who can fix it due to the pandemic, so they still have my truck. They have not called me like a guy said they would. They have had my truck since May 2nd. I have barely had this truck 2 months before it started to have things go wrong with it.

Our warranty is 60 days or 2,000 miles on engine and transmission only. *** car was towed in after the warranty. A repair estimate was provided to *** and we haven't hear anything back from her until now.

I put a down payment on a car. They used the down payment on a car that was previously repo'd. I couldn't get the money back so I had to stick with this car. The repairs are expensive on this foreign car, Infinity. I arranged for the payments to bi-monthly. They told me that I could skip a month because I had multiple repairs for the car. When I went to make the payment, they told me that I was past due. It took them three months to get my title.

Joe-K Used Cars Response • Jul 13, 2020

August payment of $250 has been pushed to the end of the term. Also there is a note in the account that when the account is paid down to $500 balance it is consider paid in full. We will honor *** to give him the $500 credit.

Thanks

I purchased a car Buick LaCrosse (2010) from this lot. Within the first 24 hours of purchase I had issues with the trunk popping open and not staying closed. I took it back to the lot. They told me to take it to their mechanic's lot down the street which I did. They just took the spring out and it popped open. When I got into the car, the check engine light started to flicker--the tracking stability light came on across the dashboard. I called into the shop and told them that it came back on. He said that that message had nothing to do with the trunk. I took the car back he turned the light off. He didn't check anything. Later that week the car was pulling, I took the car back and he drove it and said that it drove fine. The following week the whole car locked up and shut off and I had to have it towed. Brought the car back. I paid for a purge valve, but he said they didn't do that type of work. I got it fixed at ***, it cost $450 and it shut off the same evening. *** did a diagnostic. They had it for a week. And I have the paperwork. Apparently, I have I have computer module problem that's why my car keeps shutting down. I paid $3900.00; the total cost of the car was to be $8900 and I have a car note. I want my money back because I don't think there are good cars there. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Joe-K Used Cars Response • Jul 13, 2020

After receiving *** compliant, we accommodate her by bringing the car to the repair shop and making the necessary repair that covered by our warranty. After the assessment, we learned it's computer module problem, which is not covered under our warranty item. We offer her trade in terms but *** did not agree.

Thanks

We purchased a car on April 15th. We were given a 60 day warranty to cover items such as the engine and transmission. On April 22nd, we noticed it had a rattling noise. We took it to them on April 25th and they cleaned the cams on it and picked it up on the same day. Now the engine has gone out and he does not want to honor the warranty.

Joe-K Used Cars Response • Jul 13, 2020

We honored our warranty on 5/18/2020 and also pushed her May 2020 payment to the end of the term.

Thanks

I got my vehicle on March 7th 2020 and it’s been a nightmare ever since. I started having problems a week after I got it. The dashboard lights keep clicking on and off to where I can see nothing at all which is dangerous. I dont even know how it even passed inspection. I went to their repair shop and a man looked at it. He said he turned something on and off and it should be fine. I thought it was then I had the problem AGAIN the following week. Only this time my car didn’t start after I got off work. I was sitting in a parking lot at night by myself because my car wouldn’t start smh. I called them and he said it might just be the battery. I bought a brand new battery. I also believe joe k changed the altered the vin number on my car which is illegal because when I take to *** they can’t locate my vin number. I even called Chevrolet, the manufacturer it’s self and they can’t locate it either. I also did my research on this car make and year and it seems to be a recall but Chevrolet can’t locate my vin number to verify that. So that’s also a red flag. But the dash lights was still going in and out. On March 23,2020 I was hopping on the highway and then the speed on the car reduced which caused me to only go under 40 mph ON THE HIGHWAY. I have a 1 year old and that’s dangerous! This car should of NEVER passed inspection and somebody should be hold accountable for that! Somebody almost hit my car from behind because of how slow it was going on the highway. Everytime I call they give me the run around. Now my car not starting at all even if I try to get it a jump. On top of that they giving me a run around about my title so I can’t even register it yet if I wanted to. I went up there and spoke with someone and they told me the owner will call me but I still haven’t heard from anyone. I called the repair shop and the man there said he can only fix it if it’s and the transmission or something. He didn’t even bother to try to see what the problem was when I went up last time. He was rude and no help. Poor customer service. I’m still within my 60 day warranty. I only drove the car for 2 weeks so I know I drove less 2,000 miles. I been calling EVERYDAY and no one still called me back or gave me a resolution. I still owe around 4,000 and haven’t even got a chance to make a payment yet and already having problems. No title or nothing. I told them I just want a refund or at least trade the car. They should be able to at least do that especially if I didn’t even get a chance to register it yet. They customer service is poor, poor at solving resolutions, poor at communicating with customers, the workers there do fraud illegal things. A worker there got busted just last year for stealing over 65,000 from customers payments and I’m pretty sure everybody there was aware. This place needs to be shut down for an investigation because it’s a lot of illegal stuff going on. I just want a refund to be honest! This is absurd!

I am rejecting this response because:

I did contacted you regarding this issue in March and my car is already at the repair shop now after calling multiple times but the man at the repair shop keep telling me there is nothing wrong with it and it start up just fine for him. Something is clearly wrong if I have to get a jump every 2 days, somethings wrong if the lights on the dashboard keep flickering on and off, if the speed reduced on the highway, if I had to get a jump after getting off work like who wants to be stranded after getting off work? That’s the first thing he said when he checked the car the first time in March. The mechanics are LAZY and don’t even check to see what the problem is. Just because it’s running good TODAY don’t mean I won’t be somewhere stranded TOMORROW. The whole point is to avoid having to get a jump every 2 days. I just want it fixed the mechanic is trying to avoid having to do that. He know something is wrong with that car. They gon kill somebody putting people in cars that barely and shouldn’t even passed inspection in the first place. So once I pick up my car then what? What they going to do if it happen again? Am I’m going to get some type of accommodation? am I ever going to get my title? I been calling and calling..waiting and waiting. They say they’ll work with me when all I want is the mechanic to just WORK on my car. At least fix the car and I’ll be satisfied. And if you can’t just let me trade it. I mean it ain’t like I registered it or anything due to the title still being MIA. Fix it or trade it. Please and thank you.

Sincerely

I purchased a 2010 Ford Explorer on 3/14/20. Within a week, the car broke down. It has been in the shop ever since. I talked to Joe K about the situation and they aren't willing to do anything about it.

I am rejecting this response because:(A) my warranty was denied from Joe kaY. (B) the vehicle was in the warranty guidelines, 1. vehicle wasn't drove over two thousand miles upon leaving JOE KAYS lot. 2. it broke down with in a week of purchase, before the sixty days. 3. inspection wasnt challenged do to vehicle breaking down so soon. the vehicle was towed by triple A from a north county ASE certified mechanic and he has testimony as to the details surrounding this vehicle. also I was advised that I had to pay my own money for what I know to be damages hidden from the customer upon purchace, I advised joe kay that I was already in a financial bind due to corona, my expenses could only be divided into my car note and all the other legal fees surrounding this newly purchased vehicle. instead a mechanic advised that since the vehicles warranty wasn't honored that it would cost me even more without righteous clause expenses

Sincerely

I purchased a 2002 Ford Explorer from this business on November 19th of 2019. I put $1600 down on it and have made two payments (the first at) $260 and (the second at) $250. Total amount owed is $4400, after payments I have $2016.98 left. Since I purchased the car I have noticed that the vehicle would get stuck when I would shift gears. I brought it back on the 21st of November and have brought it back each time I have made a payment. The excuse I get each time is that the shop is too busy for him (***) to get me in there for repairs. This last time the vehicle was not gaining speed and would drive extremely slow. There was a 60 day warranty on this and I have tried, numerous times, to get things handled before it ended. I brought it to the shop using back roads and told the guy I needed something to be done or I would reach out to third parties. *** finally agreed to send it to the shop, however he gave me another option as well which was to trade in the car and pay the difference, if I wanted a new one. I opted to bring the car to the shop and they told me it was the transmission, but they don't do transmission, so they called *** and told me to bring it to another place and that it would cost me $850. I brought it there and after some time, I called this shop back and spoke with ***. He told me the replacement would be $1500, not $850. They claim that they told *** this and no one informed me of this. I cannot afford $1500 on top of the amount I owe on this vehicle. Ultimately this should be covered by my warranty but since *** played around this entire time on this I'm being charged for it. *** should stand by the amount he told me and either take care of it himself or charge me the $850 as quoted.

We have a 60 day or 2,000 mile warranty on the vehicle. Ms. Lambert has put over 5,000 miles on the vehicle so it is no longer covered under warranty. The full price of transmission & labor would need to be paid by Ms. Lambert. We are willing to work with her on the payments while she gets repairs made.

I bought a car here in October, 2018. It was stolen, I let them know about it. They said it was not a problem, so they said it would be okay if my payment was a little behind, but they re-po's the car anyway. The real reason that I am upset is that you are suppose to get the title when you purchase a car and I have never received mine. I call them at least twice a week and they never come up with the tut They were suppose to replace my key fob also.

We have called the customer to let him know that we have the title here at the office & that he could come pick it up. All sales are final so unfortunately we will not be giving any money back.

We purchased this car on August 2nd. We asked if the car was a flood car, the salesperson assured us that it wasn't. We had problems with it; we've taken to three mechanics and they all say that the car shows evidence of being in a flood. They have told us they would trade the car in, but they are saying that I would owe $750 on the car because of the driving, mileage on the car. The sales person agreed that I should be able to trade it in but the owner is disputing this. He said that I would need more money on a car. It has been less than 30 days.

I do not accept the company response, but since I’m poor and my son made the terrible Decision to shop there. I have know extra monies to purchase a new car. This car has given me nothing but trouble since the purchase date. The company think it’s ok to treat people like this, so not fair. Cause they have the back of company like yourself, and more money than me, to back them up and don’t hold them responsible for selling crap cars...... not ok to be treated as such! Very disappointed!

They will sale you a car and repo it if you are a day late with a payment tell you your car has to be paid off in full or they and resale your car versus pay your late fee that they charge daily and your car note

My wife and I bought a car 33 days ago and at purchase it was supposed to come with safety and emissions. When we went to get our car registered the dmv advised us that the emissions test was 8 months old and this made the original car sale illegal. This morning we went to the dealer and a young lady at the front desk gave us card for a mechanic to get another emissions test. The dealer did not want to acknowledge the fact that the sale was illegal or that my wife missed work due to this inconvenience.
