Joe's Buggy Haus

Review: I first called Joes Buggy Haus inquiring information on an estimate for my 1974 VW THING. Joe sounded like he knew what he was talking about and said I could tow it over. When I arrived at his shop we spoke about him giving me an estimate to check out the transmission, hook up the speedometer and look over the engine for leaks and to give me a price for a new wiring harness installed. Joe said it would be $150 estimate and that if I fixed it that would go towards the repair. After that I didn't hear from him for 2 days so I gave him a call which he then gave me an estimate on fixing my back brakes, a broken mount on the shifter and said that the wiring harness would be a couple hundred dollars that will talk about that at a later date. He said the repair estimate at that point would be $620, I agreed. The next day I went into his shop to inquire more details about the wiring and asked Joe again to give me an accurate estimate because it was something that I needed to fix. He kept giving me a round about quote with no accurate price. To say the least I had to call him over end over to finally get a quote on the wiring which then he stated that all of the wiring plus some additional things he found problems with would be and additional $845 on top of the $620 which he then changed the price on that estimate to $645. That brought the total repair to $1490. I was bummed because he got me in the door for what I thought was a fair price and then jacked it up to more than double after he started working on it. After speaking to my wife we okayed the repair because Joe said he everything would be done professionally and right. Well the day I was supposed to pick my car up he never called and left me waiting and wondering so the next afternoon I still hadn't heard from him so I stopped by his shop he was extremely rude and explained that my repairs were not all able to be completed but the price is still the same and if I wanted to pay him now and bring it back later for more money.Desired Settlement: I would like his shop to be checked out because he also would not allow me past his gate to see the damage to my vehicle because he said it was against his insurance. How do I know now that everything he said he repaired was true without seeing any of the damage. Also a refund for the services that he quoted to fix my vehicle and left un repaired.
