Per the request dated September 10, 2016, please accept the University of Denver’s (DU) response to a student concern regarding the University’s closure and communication of a dual undergraduate/graduate degree program. We welcome this opportunity to share with the Revdex.com an overview of the
advising student support structure at the University of Denver. We are confident that DU meets and exceeds expectations for the ethical and responsible conduct with respect to the presentation of clear and consistent information regarding our academic programs, requirements, and procedures The University of Denver places great importance on the congruence between its activities, mission, and the integrity with which those activities are engaged. The University operates in a culture of compliance and accountability, supported by our attention to well-documented and well-understood procedures and policies. This practice applies to all areas of the University, from financial operations to supporting ethical and responsible faculty research, to presenting clear and consistent information to students regarding academic programs and policiesOur records indicate that the complainant sent an inquiry to the Enrollment & Marketing Manager at the *** College of Business, on April 14, 2016, upon learning that a graduate program he was interested in entering had been discontinued. The DU advisor sent a detailed email response on April 19, stating that while the program was not discontinued, that the structure and the requirements for the program had changed. She also clarified that admission to this program had always required a separate offer of admission, meaning that there exists no guarantee of entry into the graduate program upon entry into an undergraduate degree program. To clarify, the student had neither applied, nor was accepted into the dual degree programIt was later, after this exchange, that the student filed his complaint with Revdex.com. On September 21, 2016, the complainant met with the Senior Associate Dean at the *** College of Business to further discuss the issue. In this conversation, the associate dean further explained why the University chose to make changes to the dual degree program and suggested alternate options for the student to consider should he choose not to take the additional coursework necessary to apply to this particular program The discussion identified several academic options for the student given his major and plans for the future. Additional outreach will be made to the student over the course of the quarter to maintain a positive advising relationship.

I am rejecting this response because of what was previously said. Changing the requirements of a program is considered bait and switch and is unacceptable. This complaint will remain open if the response continues to come back with the same response of the program never being a guarantee and that the program's requirements are now different from the time of admission. This is completely unacceptable.
