Joffrey Ballet School

Review: In July I have signed up two children for the Fall ballet classes at school (cost per child is 690$). The website clearly stated that it requires a dress code that can be purchased through an affiliated website [redacted] website: JBS Children's Leotard in Pink Color*, Pink Ballet Tights*, Pink Girls Wrapped Skirt*, and Pink Leather Ballet Shoes noting that “*These items can be found on [redacted]”. I have tried to comply with the dress code by visiting the site at which time I realized that I am in fact required to purchase a bundle, which includes the required dress code listed above and several additional items (extra leotard, two shirts, and a bag) that were not part of the required dress code at the time when I purchased the classes. Moreover, the cost of this bundle has been almost 4 times larger than the cost of the required attire (e.g., 100$ vs. 400$ for the two (3 years old) children). My repeated calls and emails to the school to give me an option to purchase only what I needed remained unanswered. Moreover, the school has responded with a generic mass-mailing (presumably to address the outrage of other parents) that the children will not be permitted to attend the classes unless they purchase the 200$ bundle per child. It seems that the dress code requirement stated on their website has changed to a “requirement to purchase the bundle of things”. This message was communicated to registered parents via several hostile emails only after the classes have been paid for. If this requirement was clearly stated as a prerequisite to attend the class on thier site, I would have never considered this school for my children due to prohibitive high cost. We are in the situation where school is refusing to provide the options to purchase only the uniforms (without the additional items), and in turn the kids are not permitted to attend the class. The school is also refusing to return the tuition money which would be only fair on the grounds of failure to disclose its blackmailing merchandising practices after the tuition money is collected from the parents.Desired Settlement: I would like the school to give me a full refund for the classes we will not be attending (1380$).
